Family Doctor reviews in Santa Cruz

This facility has a rotating staff of residents that stay for about three years. Therefore, you get to have the same doctor for 3 years. I like having doctors that are new to the trade because for the most part they are not to jaded by the mainstream allopathic system. As a result, the doctors here are more open to treating the person versus treating the symptom. My doctors here have always talked about nutrition and exercise as the primary way to handle any problems that a typical blood panel might reveal.

We've gone to them for a long time and we're very pleased with the qualities of the doctors there. They have a lot of competence in their care and they're very responsive, there are questions and needs and my primary care physician is just really great about getting me through the proper specialist or test or whatever I need and he's just really good about getting me what I need in terms of care.

We wanted to establish a family-physician relationship because both of us have medical challenges and we have to be with a doctor. I think she was very engaging, self-revealing and made you immediately fell comfortable, so I think she had a terrific bedside manner. She is punctual and responsive. It takes a while to get an appointment with her, so the only other issue would be, if we have some kind of excruciating problem but they have an urgent care facility, so it doesn't apply to us.

Dr. Leong has a small practice and she practices only couple of days a week. So she is kind of a specialized person. She spends up to an hour with a patient regularly as she does acupuncturist and a regular MD. You can’t find a person who spends that much time with you. The only drawback of her is that she is available only twice a week. She will call me home and she will see for an hour but her care is excellent but her office hours are limited. She doesn’t have any staff.

My Doctor actually cares much about me.  She understands that I don't like to take a lot of medicine so we try to find ways that I don't have to take medication.  It's a proactive way to manage my health.  The front office guys are crazy but I like my doctor.

The practice is clean and modern. It's well run and it's efficient. The doctor is very friendly. The staff is very friendly as well. They know what they are doing. It's very modern. Some of the doctor's offices that I've gone into looked like a third world country place. This is just very up to date, modern, clean, bright and well run. The staff and the doctors are very nice. The doctor listens and asks questions. I always feel like she's listening to me. When you go in, some of the doctors treat you like a piece of meat or something. They don't really pay attention but this doctor really pays attention and listens. She talks about concerns that I might have. She takes time with me and she looks at me right in the eyes. I have no complaints at all and there's nothing that has changed. It's all good. I will use their services again in the future.

Dr. Abrams is very personable and warm. She is a very caring physician. She is very resourceful too when it comes to her relationship and her manner with her patients. She also has a good network of specialists for referrals. The nurses and secretaries over there are very friendly. It?s relatively easy to get an appointment. I specially like the fact that you can set your appointments online if you want. So I can get in easily most of the times when I do that. It?s not necessarily her fault when it comes to the effectiveness of treatment because it?s hard to gauge an outcome if it?s beyond her control. She is very attentive and so sometimes you will end up waiting a while because of the time she spends with other patients. It?s not a big deal, but that seems to be the case with almost every doctor I know. The upside is that Rachel will actually come out and will tell you what she is up to and will also tell you why she is getting delayed, which almost no other physician will do.

They have everything there and they quickly point you to one specialist or another, depending on your need. They are all in the same building. Everything is on computers, your medical history is there for all the doctors to be able to access. I have been going there for over 30 years.

She is really personable and really, really smart. I would recommend her, but I don't think she is taking patients. She only works part-time, and I do believe her practice is full. I would recommend calling the office to see if they are taking patients. She has a speciality in working with individuals with disabilities, so if you are in a wheelchair or anything like that, she is the person to go to.

We really like her. She is fairly well known because she has published some popular books. She is great. She is very attentive. She is very responsive providing information by phone or via email. She doesn't hesitate to contact us or force us to come into the office for a brief communication. She takes great pains to make time for us in her schedule if we need an appointment. Her knowledge in alternative medicine has been helpful. She is very knowledgeable about pharmaceuticals broadly speaking. She is very sharp, more so than some other physicians I have known. She is very much aware of side effects and alternatives to a given medication whether it is conventional or alternative alternatives. She is well rounded in the terminology. I emailed her recently about some medication and she responded very quickly. Her communication is very highly recommended. The only negative is that she doesn't do insurance billing. You have to deal with that.
