Window Replacement reviews in Santa Clara

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They did excellent work. They showed up on time and finished ahead of schedule. The windows look beautiful. The windows are much more energy efficient than my old windows and block out much more noise. I would highly recommend them.
    - Amanda M.
  • It was a great experience working with the Cosmo crew who were very professional and courteous. In two days, they replaced our old roof on a 3 bedroom single family home and installed a new skylight. During the process, they found rotted wood and replaced them properly. The gutters were painted to match the house. I appreciate their high quality workmanship and flexibility by working with our contractor's schedule and the unpredictable weather. Their commitment to customer satisfaction is obvious as they accommodated many of my requests during the process. I would highly recommend them.

  • Overall it went smoothly without major hitches. There we some delays in getting the windows delivered but that was not on the company. I also did not negotiate to paint the exterior window frames which would have been easy to do at the time of installation. Because it is a second story unit I had to pay someone to do this after the windows were installed. But besides that it was a good experience and was done without issues and it was on time. Their price was competitive. The folks who did the work and the estimates were friendly and professional and the quality of work was excellent.

  • We are overall very happy with the roofing and gutter job itself, however the communication during the job on important issues was extremely poor. 1. We were promised a communication call before repairs were performed with an estimate of cost. This didn't happen, instead, repairs were performed without an estimate or approval. 2. I had to repeatedly call to even find out when the job would start and ask if there was anything we needed to do during the job. 3. Sun tunnel was installed in the wrong location on the roof and therefore caused additional location problems inside the house. Claims were made after the work was done about potential issues with problems installing in the indicated location, but nobody asked us before going ahead with placing the sun tunnel in the wrong location. We did OK the install once it was already completed on the inside of the house, but the contractor should have called his superior before going ahead with installing it once he saw he wouldn't be able to get the tunnel where we originally asked. We showed the roofers repeatedly where we wanted the tunnel on the inside of the house, and they acknowledged the location, and installed it in the wrong place. 4. Lindy (Neil Buencamino) volunteered the team to return and perform a final cleanup, cutting nail ends that were showing through the eaves and cleaning up paint that was spilled on pavers. When the workers arrived to perform the tasks they were unprepared and uninterested in doing the work, instead they "tried" to clean paint and when they couldn't they claimed they had no time to go buy supplies to do the job, then claimed their team didn't spill paint, then demanded final payment. Although overall we are very happy with the appearance and process of the installation of our new roof and gutters, Lindy failed repeatedly to communicate to us not only work schedule, but any issues during the job. I also feel there was a huge disconnect between those doing the work, Promises made by Neil, and us as the customer. Once work started the feeling I got was like an express train passing through the station; nothing was going to slow it down or stop it once on its way.

  • GoodFellas did the master and guest bathroom in our home. My wife and I are expecting a child in Nov and wanted to get as much work done on the house before the baby was born. GoodFellas was able to finish the work in a timely matter and exceed expectations. Even though the company is handling multiple jobs at a time, they are able to make us feel like were the only ones, giving us complete attention when needed. They aren't cutting corners so it is well priced for the quality you get. Our project manager was there when we needed him including picking out the tile, glass and marble.

  • The Custom Bathroom he designed and created was beyond anything I've imagined (especially on a budget).
Oscar sat with my Mom and got to know her first. My Mom has a easy earthly energy and she was open on ideas. Oscar created some layouts and themes to present. From there the magic began, like clock work, him and his team arrived every morning around 7am. The clean demolition was the first sign I know I hired a pro, not to add a honest one (my old tub was worth a few hundred bucks, I wouldn't have known unless Oscar told me). There was additional work needed to the foundation (rotten old boards needed replacing) Oscar practically replaced them all for the cost of the material & his workers.
What was done; 1) Custom Tiling *Floors & Walls* 2) Sheetrock 3) Plumbing 4) Toilet 5) Body spray/show 6) Over head heating fan n exhaust & night light  7) Double sink 8) Overhead vanities 9) Ceiling lights w/dimmers 10) Jacuzzi/Tub  11) New door & full mirror on the back 12) Handy-cap bars 13) New windows & trim 14) Slider Sun light Window (right above the shower)
Bathroom easily STILL looks like a $60K Value
Folks, Oscar & his team are real! Real Good! I'd highly recommend him.
Especially if your budget is low like mine was.

  • My husband could not make the appointment, therefore, I met with Lesmi to go over what we wanted to do for the remodel of the existing home and what and what we wanted for the addition. Lesmi was rude, condensending, and listened to nothing I said.  One example - relocate windows, he stated no you don't want to do that, you will need additional work for header, require permits and patch siding.  I told him we were fine with that.  As he was leaving I requested a scetch of the addition to show my husband how it would tie into the existing struction, basic drawing, no detail.  Lesmi turned to me and stated "we don't do that, but watch me, tell your husband the addition goes from here to here to here, you got that or do you need me to explain it to you again."  I was somewhat shocked and said, no thank you, i got it.  The reason I requested the schetch is because the addition Lesmi was  explaining had no inside access to the addition (master suite), the existing bathroom was in the way and Lesmi ignored me when i asked him how the master suite would be accessed.  Although SOD Builders has a great reputation on Angie's List, due to this experience and Lesmi's rudeness, I would not use or recommend them.

I purchased an Angie?s list deal for a bathroom remodel project.  The Deal was 40 hours of work for $1500.  I figured the whole project was going to be 80 to 90 hours,  so getting the first half done cheap was a bargin.  What could go wrong?  As it turns out, plenty.
My project was to be done in three phases. After I had deconstructed the bathroom down to studs and base floor,  phase one was to do some rough plumbing, and re-Frame where it was necessary to repair termite damage, which included replacing the outside bath window.  The second phase, after I had put in the insulation, was to sheet rock (actually hardieboard) the floor walls and ceiling in preparation for tiling.  The Third Phase was to texture the walls and ceilings not to be tiled, and tiling the floors and bathtub area.  I was expecting this project to take three weeks.
First, I set an appointment with Mike the Contractor to come out and review the project.  We agreed that his guys would start work on a Monday and that the Thursday before he would come by with ?guy? and review the project and put together a list of the things I would need for the project.
Mike missed the Thursday appointment and it wasn?t until Monday I got a hold of him to reschedule.   We did the kickoff meeting but didn?t start until Wednesday, which with inspection cost me four days.
The first phase, was done satisfactorily and was inspected and passed.  On the next phase however, the wheels fell
off the project.    While putting up the last piece of wall, the guy drilled into the water line  and it wasn?t until the end of the day that
the plumber could get out to repair the damage.
The next day, no one showed up, I called and was promised that someone would come out and finish.  No one showed up and
phone calls and messages were not returned until late on the Friday, promising a guy would show up on Saturday to finish.
I canceled my Saturday plans.  I needed the work done. Then waited until mid morning to call, only to be told, my guy was stuck on another job and that he would be there later in the afternoon.  Then late in the Afternoon, another apology and was promised a guy would show up on Monday, the day before the scheduled inspection
Monday morning, no guy, Two phone calls, two Texts,  ?car trouble?.  Now I am worried, the inspection is on Tuesday and the walls are not ready.  At Noon, I blow up.  I call Mike and he agrees to come to my house. We talk, he promises a guy will get there in the
afternoon.   At five o?clock I call, where is your guy?   He shows up, finally at 7:00pm but he can only do some of the work.
He promises to show up on Tuesday morning to finish.
He does show up and finishes the work before 8 am.   That is cutting it close.
I have used three different contractors on my house remodel for various things.   Baron?s was by far the worst in terms of
meeting time commitments and doing what they promised.   I cannot offer a favorable recommendation for this contractor, They missed too many commitments, cost me too much time managing their failures to perform.   In the end I awarded the last
part of the project to my best contractor and paid him more so I could get the work done right and on time.

  • I looked for the perfect company for this remodel project for our dream kitchen. with the intention of eventually selling out the house to be much better price. Ari was excellent in presenting different layouts, all with the cost effectiveness in mind. In the end, I got a design that was far better than I could have anticipated. Now the kitchen is beautiful and laid out with much better functional ease, which is important for a fair space. I may not rent/sell the place now that I love the kitchen so much! Also, Ari was so easy to work with and trust, and as someone who is busy and wanted things moving quickly and efficiently, he was more than accommodating; and he comes to you which is so convenient. In the kitchen we did new design and layout Ari help us with this show us 3D design didn't charge us for this, windows install first floor we used his price for windows ad saved around 15%, the lights we got nice deal Ari also help us get it online in one of the places he found for us, plumbing was total upgrade and electrical as well, Of course we took Ari cabinets and he make them perfect special for our needs.
Note: We talk about 6-8 weeks to make the cabinets he finish in 6 weeks very nice, then he said the whole work will take is 2.5 months included all work done! this was 2 good to be true but he made this happen in 2 months. He just start work on the cabinets same time he start the work and by the time cabinets came he had 2 weeks to do countertop and tile and all the touchups.
Thank you for a wonderful design and amazing work.

  • Overall, the experience was poor. They set up a time to come out and they didn’t show. I couldn’t get a hold of them for a while. When we did get in touch he claimed he had cellphone problems. When he did actually come out, it took me following up multiple times just to get feedback. He incorrectly identified the window and their estimate was very overpriced.
