The first time my dad tested the unit, he was sitting  in the car beside I-40 interstate in Knoxville, Tennessee. He pushed the button on the unit and no voice came on...just a blinking light. When I called the member-service number, we were told that some sort of a signal did go through but T-Mobile Cellular was not available in that area (in the middle of Knoxville?). However, they tried calling...

My 97-year-old father is still active and on the go and he needed a mobile medical alert to go with him. I studied their web site, read reviews and thought the ALERT 1 Kelsi would be a great choice for him. He would be able to talk to an operator to explain his problem and the unit would function as a GPS so he could be located and the operator could then get him the help he needed.  I called and ordered the unit. So far so good.

After over a year of service and on time automatic payment, we called Alert1 to let them know that at this time we would no longer need their services and that all of the equipment would be returned to them by the date we were told by their representative on April 13, 2015.  Verification of delivery by USPS was received on the date customer service provided in our conversation and yet another full...

On January 1, 2015, we contacted Alert 1 to receive service due to recent falls. We were given a monthly quote, but never notified that the total amount would be taken upfront for the whole year ($431.40). In addition, we were told that we could terminate services at any time. From conversation with sales person, we were given the impression that any money would be refunded upon cancelation. The ...

I wear my pendant when taking a shower, but I do remember their customer service rep telling me (after I had signed up) that MOST of their customers did NOT wear their pendants in the bathroom.  So far, the showers do not seem to have damaged my pendant.  The bathroom is a place where I really need a pendant as it is a place where falls are likely to happen.I accidentally set off the alarm by acci...

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I have had Alert I since the summer of 1993, and I still have their services.  There are discounts for paying quarterly and a bigger discount for paying annually.  I pay quarterly.  This is the first service of this type that I have had.   The one thing I don't like is that the lanyard that comes with the pendant on it is so long on me as I am a little over 5 ft. tall.  The lanyard hangs to my waist.  This makes it easy to be set off accidentally while washing dishes as it hits the side of the sink or when using my cordless blower outside.  I have tried tying it on the side to make it higher, but I don't want to put any permanent knots in it as it is their property.  The nylon cord has a way of slipping loose.  I mentioned this problem to them, and they sent me a wrist holder and a small tool to take it off the neck pendant, but I am not mechanical enough to do this.  I think fastening the wrist band might be difficult with my arthritis. This business also offers to rent or sell customers an extra remote unit for large homes.  I bought one for the bed room.

Very prompt in sending out the kit, as well as sending extra equipment that I needed at no additional charge.  Customer service always very pleasant and helpful.  Sometimes when we test the emergency button (which they encourage doing on a regular basis), the emergency contact doesn't answer immediately, as I'd hoped.  Emergency service available 24/7 but general customer service is only available...
