    Rick was amazing. He was a bit of a rat whisperer. He inspected inside and out and determined that I didn't have a multiple rate issue, but that I had one opportunistic rate who was using a faulty pet door and was occasionally trapped INSIDE my house. New pet door ordered, and peace of mind restored. My cat caught two, but they set a few traps in case that wasn't the end of it. No sight of rats since. Whew!

    We are on a plan with them, they come quarterly. We have a service contract for a year, but pay each time they come. It's one of those things that happen in the background. They send me an email when they are coming, they send me an email when they leave and a bill. That's the most interaction I have with them. We still have spiders, but they can't do much about those.

    They should be stricken from business.  They had lied and stolen stuff from me for years.  Finally the last one I had they said they had done and inspection and it was the photo copy of the one from the previous year.

    The experience has been very, very poor. They erred when they first saw this place 10 years ago. They sent a couple of vice presidents out because they kept telling me that I had debris under the house. I told them the person that handled it initially should have been that on the report because the seller would have paid for that. The vice president said they were not equipped to take care of them so I told them they should pay somebody to do that because it wasn't my fault that their guy missed it in the first place. The last couple of times the guy just copied the previous report. He didn't do any examination at all so I am not happy with them. They have really let me down so I have a beef with them.They send all kinds of stuff to buy from them. They send our people who are not competent. They are careless. I haven't compared them.

    The service was excellent.  They called and scheduled an appointment the day I purchased the service.  Nick was on time for the appointment and discussed the service.  He was quick and professional.  Within the next couple of days I was contacted to see if my needs were met and they followed that with a letter, including a Planet Orange cloth shopping bag.  It was the best customer service I've received in a long time!  Thank you Nick!

    Once Don got there he took a look at the hand rail that had termite activity and gave me a quick breakdown on everything termites and other wood destroying organisms (fungi, beetles, etc). Don explained that the termites in the rail were Dry Wood termites and it looks like they are only in this specific area of the property. He recommends that I have someone come and replace that piece of wood and to seal it with paint to prevent future termite issues.
    One lesson I learned is that some termites can fly and they won't go through paint! Don recommends sealing all unsealed wood with paint and caulk up areas that are unsealed/cracked.

    tail taleI received a call from Planet Orange regarding a date that I would be available, it was decided that the 24th would work. I agreed to a 9:00am start time, around 8:30 am I was informed that the tech Rudy would be detained because of traffic since he was coming from a prior job in Morgan Hill. He said he could arrive around 10:30am that same day. I agreed, and pretty much to the time frame he arrived. I gave him the grand tour of what I wanted done. Check the perimeter of the house for ants, spiders and the yellow jacket nest by our front porch. Rudy made sure that there were no easy or tail tale entries for ants into our home, he discussed we should add a bottom door stop to our garage side door because we had problems with rats before. I mentioned about spiders hanging around our gutters with webs and such. With those 3 things in mind. he spent around 1 1/2 hours spraying and using a brush to clean the sides of our house and eaves. He had mentioned that the spray over time would smell like root beer, which it did. At the end he mentioned that we had a 30 day guarantee of his work and if we had any problems to call us.
    Today is the 19th and no yellow jacket nest, and no yellow jackets have returned, ants are no problem or spiders as well.

    The initial inspection went very well.  I knew there were termites in the structure, and I had marked locations of about 80 percent of the infestation.  The inspector found the other 20 percent which I agreed with.  The price to treat was quoted, Angie's list coupon was presented, and revised price was put into contract with a 10% down payment required.  Inspector was on time, and friendly and knowledgeable.
    The day of the treatment the guys were on time, very friendly and informative.  They knew their jobs and performed them, with frequent questions from myself.  They were busy during their entire time on the property.  They were however a bit sloppy in the administering of wood filler to their drilled holes, and left the dropped material where it fell.  
    No repair of damaged material was performed nor was it quoted.
    Looking at the paperwork the following day, I noted that the completion notice said that no work was completed.  Since their was no sale of the property this was not important, however I wanted it completed properly, as it is a filed document with the pest control board.  I called them again, and made the mistake known, and was promised it would be fixed and sent to me soon.  Two plus weeks later, after not yet receiving it, I called again.  I was told the techs aren't in the office daily, but with over two weeks delay in getting the paperwork, I was not happy and let them know that.  I finally got the corrected paperwork via email a couple days later.
    The workers were all cordial and knowledgeable, proficient at their task etc.  To me, the quality of a company is how they handle their mistakes, as they happen to all companies, and I feel this company could have a done a much better job in their response.  When you pay a premium price, you expect premium service, and I didn't get it.

    Danny checked the perimeter of the house and the room where I discovered the "ant".  I told him the "ants" swarmed a single time and I saw them for two days in a row.  He said they liked to nest in walls, but was concerned that I had not seen anything since April.  He said it was obvious that I had an regular ant problem and showed me where he had found them around the outside of the house.  He suggested a single spraying, but said that if I didn't want it I should keep it in mind for next year if I saw the carpenter ants again.
    The inspection was no charge and the fact that the bugs weren't termites was a load off my mind.  If they appear again next year I will definitely call Killroy!!

    Shawn and Chris arrived a few minutes before the appointment which was great.  Shawn told us exactly where they'll do the treatment.  They were both pleasant, dilligent, patient and did an excellent job.  They finished the job in a reasonable amount of time and didn't leave any mess at all.   
    Kenan B., a supervisor, came by to see how they're doing.  He spent some time explaining to us about Planet Orange and product they use, termite infestations, kinds of termites, etc.  Kenan seemed very knowledgeable and personable too.  
    All three were great guys and will definitely use Planet Orange again.
