    Safe Security
    The alarm company that I had dealt with for over 20 years was purchased by Safe Security.  A letter was sent to the previous company's clients to contact Safe Security and have the alarm system re programmed to be forwarded to Safe Security.  This was to be a in home project. I mis placed the letter.  When another letter came from Safe Security asking clients to test the alarm system, I figured I should get this taken care of.  I called the number listed and the agent could not find me in the Safe Security system.  I was told I must have the wrong company, so I just forgot about this and was planning to take care of it on another day.  Soon after that, I received a bill for monitoring the alarm that was not yet being monitored. I knew at this point, I do not want this company as a place I spend money.  I called customer service to explain my situation.  I was told after a brief conversation that I had a contract and had better abide by the contract.  I contacted a department that is called "retention" and finally got them to understand I do not want their services.  I was told and that if I sent them over $66 and a signed letter stating my wish not to receive service, that was satisfactory with them. The letter was sent with a check and the check was cashed.  I thought this was the end of it. In about two weeks, I get a past due bill for the remaining monitoring service period (the total original bill was about $99).  I ignored it.  In about a week,I got a call from a Safe Security account receivable person about the past due bill.  After my getting a little "huffy" he hung up on me.  I called back and asked for his supervisor.  I got an answering device and left a message.  Two days later I still had not received a return call from anyone at Safe Security.  I called the person who originally called me about the "past due" bill and would not help me at all.  I emailed to the Safe Security and got no response but did get another "past due" notice.  I finally wrote a letter and sent it to several people listed on the web site.  I got a phone call a few days later saying my issue was resolved.  This all took about six weeks.  Not once did anyone at Safe Security ask how they could help resolve the issue or assist in any way.

    I got the 199 package and purchased 4 addition door sensors. Was easy to setup and great customer service. One of the magnets fell down and came out of casing and they sent me replacement and adhesives promptly. I like the iPhone app and the auto notifications if any doors/ windows are left open after a certain time at night.

    It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. So far it is working well. It was not as smooth in the beginning but it wasn't as hard to install the unit as I thought it was going to be. Right now everything is working out great. They said it would arrive within 7-10 days and it did. They threw in another sensor because I was looking at another company and they honored their coupon. They were available on the phone. It would have been nice if they had someone to install it because I am not tech savvy. We are locked in for 2 years.

    The installation is a snap and there is no reason why anyone cannot perform it. 
    Since all the sensors are wireless, there are no wires to pull or major holes to drill.

    My Virtual Monitoring
    I placed an order online for a broadband alarm transmitter and one year of prepaid monitoring.  I was charged in full on July 9th, the date of the order, even though the alarm transmitter was not in stock and backordered.  Since the date of the purchase, I have received nothing from them.  I have sent repeated emails, both directly, and using the web form on the site, and received no response.  Finally, I faxed a cancellation notice to them requesting a full refund, since they have sent me nothing, and I have received no services from them. The fax I sent has my email address and a contact phone numbers, so they do have sufficient information to contact me.  I have still heard nothing, and the charge has not been removed from my credit card.  I will now have to dispute the charge with my credit card company since the company is totally unresponsive.
    The company has no contact information on their web site other than a fax number.  I have an email address for them only because they responded when I asked before purchasing how long the alarm transmitters would be backordered.  There are no email addresses and no phone numbers listed on their web site.  This is no way to run a business, especially a security company, and I realize I should never have tried to do business with them.  For a few dollars more per month I can deal with a professionally run and reliable alarm monitoring company.

    Update: The vendor has applied a credit to my credit card on July 23rd for the unshipped merchandise and cancelled services.

    Work was excellent from start to finish. He provide a quotation within a short time after I contacted him. When the project started he showed up promptly and remained on the project until it was completed. He vacuumed up any construction debris at the end of each day. Material for the job was stored neatly on site. He took extra effort to keep the installed security sensors and horns hidden from view.
