    A+ Painting
George was invited to submit a painting bid. It took a little while to make a connection, but when we did things went well. We did a comprehensive walk-around and listened his presentation.George described in detail the brand of paint he would use and the various types of that brand he would use and where he would use them. Of course, we checked out the brand of paint and the variations he would use. It was a top brand. Geoges bid was right in the middle of the bids we looked at.we hired him on the basis of the brands of paint he would use, his presentation, and his reviews on Angies list. There would be a three week delay before George could begin. When painting day arrived the crew was punctual and ready to work. George was a man short for two days, but the job went well. Geoge let his crew off on time, but often he continued working to make up for the missing worker. He returned after a few days and things went faster. We often came out to watch the work and we were always welcomed (it was our house) all our questions were answered and the work kept going. Every night the work area was swept, tools put away and covered. The job looks great and we are very happy with it. The crew worked clean, answered all questions, checked and rechecked their work and were very responsive to our concerns. When they finished they put all of our outdoor furniture back wher they belonged. When everything was done we did another walk-around with George. Excellent job.

Z7 Team Powered By Baseline Construction
It was amazing. I worked with Joe who came on the scene to discuss the repairs and estimate how that cost would look. One of the fears that you always have when working with a construction company is that you get an amazing "sales" person and you never see them again or cannot get a hold of them once the project starts. Joe was always available to talk or meet if needed. He would also pop in and out of my property even if I was not there to check on his team. What is more reassuring as well is that the team that works on your house are not subcontractors. These awesome workers are employed by Joe's company. He has what I like to refer as their team lead, Isaiah, who is self sufficient. What I mean by self sufficient is that I never had to worry that Joe wasn't on-site that everything would crumble. The team lead knew exactly what needed to be done, and honestly had the same eye as Joe. There were little things that I had not noticed needed to be tended to that Isaiah fixed on his own. Items such as caulking around door wood trim, additional cracks in the interior I didn't even notice, etc. If there were things that I may have not mentioned initially when we signed the contract Joe would just throw them into the original cost and not nickel and dime me. That was awesome because I felt I got more than what I paid for which in my experience is never the case you get with construction/contractors. The team is also very clean. At the end of each day, they would completely clean up. Meaning vacuuming as well as wiping, scraping off any excess material that may be on the floors, etc. I have never come back to my house after construction has been done and it was so clean. At the end Joe comes back and does a walkthrough of the home with you. If there is anything that may have been forgotten or missed (even by myself) Joe himself came back and conducted the repairs that same day. Overall, amazing communication, quality of work, and just an overall great feeling. I am hoping to work with them again once I decide on whether expanding my house or not. Amazing company and team, and would recommend anyone to stop looking for someone else as honestly, I think I was looking for Joe all my life when it comes to home improvements, etc.

    Ace Painting Co
Alex is very easy to work with and very good about answering questions and giving advice.  I asked about a trim color and he said most go with a color that is close to the color around the windows.  His painting staff is phenomenal.  Both of the guys had been with the company for a long time which speaks well of the management.  They were very industrious and careful and really did a great job.  Alex explained the process in detail, so he is good at managing expectations.  His crew was timely in their work and the clean was done well.  The price was very reasonable and the 10% Angie's List discount did not hurt.  I would recommend him for any paint job and also would use him in the future for the interior of our home.

Alex came out as agreed. His estimate was among 4-5 estimates I received for the same job.  The estimate was fair and reasonable. Alex was at all times very professional and friendly.  I felt his company would do the job to my satisfaction.
The estimated time to complete the job was 4 weeks.  The job progressed as expected per the contract.  There were no surprises. The Ace crew were nice, quiet and did their job diligently.  I received NO complaints from the tenants on the crew.  They did a professional job.  The complex now looks fresh and updated!
The apartment  doors are dark with dark numbers causing a future emergency services liaiblity.  I am grateful for the Alex and his crew for spray painting the numbers white at no extra cost.
Alex also accomodated us in several other areas for the same property.  We had Ace Painting paint the fence, railings, awnings for again a reasonable and fair price.  These included projects and the complex were completed in the 4 expected weeks.
I appreciate the fact that Alex and his crew made this 4 week project stressed free, on time, and on budget.  I appreciate as a business person that communication during this job was NOT a problem.  He returned my calls within a reasonable time.  I would definitely recommend Alex and Ace Painting Co and will use them again.

Went very well. The crew was prompt, professional, courteous. Mike Lindow, the estimator was very helpful on paint color selection and setting things up. The quality of the work was very good except there were a couple problem places we noticed during the final inspection. I'm guessing the crew had to start another job the next day (what would have been the third day) as they seemed very rushed at the end. We asked for someone to come back and clean up some stray paint and repaint two barge boards and fix the side garage door which could not be closed or locked due to crimped weather stripping. The supervisor came the next day and fixed the door problem and took photos of the rest saying it needed to be scheduled. Fortunately the problem areas were on the back of the house, so not a huge big deal. There was no f/u, poor response to our calls/voicemails. It had hit the one month point and I called again and happened to catch the owner. He sent the original painter (who is very nice) over right away and he did a super job of fixing what we asked for plus did other touch up we didn't even know needed any fixing. So everything went very smoothly except at the very end and even that was resolved to our complete satisfaction.

    Tool Time Home Improvement
I needed an arbor painted. We had it built about 3 years ago but the staining had faded. I bought the Tool Time big deal coupon for $350.00 for 4 hours of work. I purchased the deal early March, but had to email the company several times to actually start the job. It was finally completed in May. Spoke with Eric the owner over the phone but only met the painter in person. The painter stated that the arbor would need to be washed and primed and I agreed. We bought the materials like paint and primer. Was happy with the results. Didn't here from the company till August. For some reason, they were using an old email address instead of the one we were previously using to communicate. They did not try to communicate with me through Angie's list till 8/15. When I finally got the invoice, I was shocked to learn that they were asking $1500.00 for the job, which is more than I paid to have the arbor built, and about four times the amount of the initial deal. Eric's wife and I got into a heated, shouting argument over the cost. She states it cost that much because after the 4 hours, they were charging me their hourly rate. But come on! Over 24 hours of work to wash and paint an arbor? It didn't take that much time to build it. It ended with her request to email them with what I think is a fair price. I replied with an email stating that I would pay &800.oo on top of the the original price of the deal. That was in August and still haven't received a response. Seveal things went wrong with working with this company, maybe because it was a small job, there was not adequate communication going on. I wasn't given a quote verbal or written prior to the start of the job.

    House Doctor Painting Inc
House Doctor Painting painted the interior of my house. Preparation was poor to non-existent. Two of the major problems were not properly preparing the existing oil-based paint so the new paint would adhere to the old paint, and not cleaning areas of dust and dirt prior to painting. The result is that the new paint is peeling off of the old paint, and the areas that were not cleaned prior to spraying of the new paint are like sandpaper due to the dust in the paint coating.
    Other problems:
         - improper protection in the area to be sprayed, allowing the paint spray to go out the open windows and coat the window screens,
         - touching up areas by brushing fresh paint over the previously painted (and dried) paint which results in a very visible patch,
         - dry brushing touch-up paint so it looks like someone sanded the paint with a very coarse sandpaper,
         - use of a lower quality paint,
          - it was noted on the estimate that they would stipple areas that had been patched to match the existing stippling and take care of nail pops on the walls and ceiling; they didn't do it,
        - did not remove mildew before painting the drywall and window sill around the living room window with the result that the paint peeled off when I removed the mildew,
        - Numerous places where they missed painting,
        - in the bathrooms left over spray on the toilet lid, lavatory and floor,
        - missed painting the medicine cabinet trim in two bathrooms
        - even though the paint color had been specified for the walls they used a lighter color of their choice rather than the specified color
This is not a painting company that can be expected to do a competent painting job. The owner does not return phone calls after they have left the job. I can only guess it's because he does not want to fix the mess he made. I do not recommend using them and they should not be recommended by Angie's List.

Kelly and Anna were very responsive and answered any questions I had before we started. Anna dropped off the sample boards of the colors I requested.  I made my selections and we were ready to schedule the painting.  The painters were on time and very helpful when I asked them to fix or change something.  They did a good job and the house looks great!I

    College Works Painting - California
My husband and I are very pleased with the job done by Richard at our house on Cornell Drive in June 2015, built in 1962.  The last time the house was painted was 15 years ago, and was still in fairly good shape except for one wall at the front of the house, which was faded and had cracks at the bottom as a result of watering the roses right in front of the wall.  Our house color was a custom blue/gray color, for which we no longer had the formula, but did have a leftover bucket with 15 year old paint in it. It would have seemed easy for the paint mixer to get the right color, but after a few rejects by us regarding the color, Richard persisted and pleased us greatly with success at this task. He advocated for his customer.   The wall looks great, matches almost perfectly, and also did as well with matching the white trim and garage door. He and his assistant were extremely careful with prepping the areas Not to be painted, including our very valued tree roses that are very close to the house.   His communication was clear, succinct, accurate, and very professional. He kept us well informed of his plans, and responded well to our concerns while matching the house paint and anything else that had to do with the job in general.   His preparation of the wall, with patching the cracks, and cleaning the wall and garage door was amazingly thorough.  He and an assistant were intensely focused and detail oriented in their commitment to the job on the day it was done, and checked with us to be sure we were pleased with the results.   I would highly recommend him as a future businessman to do what he says he will do.  He not only handled the paperwork seamlessly, but the actual painting job as well.  He was also a thoughtful boss while working with the other gentleman on the day of the painting.   I am a retired nurse and focus on team work, and respectful communication.  Richard was in charge, directed the job, but seemed very reasonable during that time.   Susan & Aaron Houchen
