Irrigation System reviews in Santa Barbara

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Bryan was a gem, brought his son to help spread new(reasonably priced) mulch and, although he missed a few things I felt should have been included in his purview, he actually called me back and made it a point to return and meet all the criteria!

  • EcoLawn SB did a fantastic job with the artificial grass in the front yard of our home. They removed the old, dead grass, and weeds, and replaced with a soft and cushy artificial grass in the same day. Our dog and other dogs, love it! EcoLawn built the fence around the yard, and designed an area for drought tolerant plants and an edible garden. Their staff were so helpful, friendly, and extremely professional. They provided and assisted me with info of rebates offered in Santa Barbara. I have been recommending their services to everyone.

  • The Good The quality of the work was excellent and the value for that quality of work was outstanding. We are completely happy with the results (with the exception of some low voltage wiring mistakes that I had to correct later). The workers we had onsite for months were friendly (see comment below regarding management) The Bad In a project of this size it's inevitable that unexpected problems will arise. So the real question is how those problems are handled by your contractor. The owner of Cicileo Landscapes would never take responsibility for those problems and always attempted to push them back to us as added cost. I'm not talking about changes in scope or new discoveries made in the process of the job, but rather misreading of the design as specified in the contract, mistakes made by his workers that we insisted be redone, or failure on his part to recognize that certain design aspects were going to be incompatible until some part of the job had progressed to the point that the incompatibility was obvious and work had to be ripped out. The Ugly The project also took much longer than the length of time called out in the schedule portion of the contract (about 3x). We had to withhold progress payments several times to get attention put back on our project. The project management would not take direction from my wife, who was onsite continuously (our home). She would point out an obvious problem with work being done and be entirely ignored. Multiple times I had to take off from work to meet the project manager, point out the same problem my wife had pointed out to him and then it would get fixed. And even though the project manager KNEW he was going to catch **** from me for making me take time out from work, he still wouldn't listen to my wife.

  • Mike was friendly, timely, and followed through. He offered two different options so we could pick one that fit our budget. They did a great job the first day and had several guys doing an initial clean up (leftovers from the poor job the other company was doing). Subsequently we have one guy who comes to do the work. I like that because it's one person who knows everything that's going on with the property and is knowledgeable about everything. He's paying attention to details, willing to do an extra thing here and there, and is friendly, respectful and professional. Thank you for doing a great job Cicileo!

  • It was the holidays and he's just too busy. He canceled an appointment. I think it was a combination of the holidays and everything else plus it was a small job for my house. I'm going to do something independently. We shared emails bur couldn't seem to button anything done. The quote was reasonable but he kind of dropped the ball. Sometimes he was responsive and sometimes he wasn't. The rains are upon us and I don't have time to wait. He was punctual when he showed up. He would have been really professional if he had followed up on the job.

  • Everything went very well.  Chris was always very responsive doing his best to work around my schedule.
When he first came, he provided a rough estimate of what the work might cost.  He bills by the hour.  All of his work was completed within the cost estimates.

  • I liked them very much. I've used them several times. They were very responsive and they will correct any problems I have with their work. They were on time. They are a little higher priced than most.

  • I had mold in my house and I hired to him to fix the issue of drainage around the north side of my home. This was to be a french drainage system. This job went terribly wrong. He took my money and had another big job so he ended put me on the back burner.  I was constantly looked over and always had different excuses.  He states that in july the drainage is 85% done but that was not the case and other professionals highly disagreed and expressed that I should not pay any more money till the job is complete. I have had other contractors out for other reasons and they were explaining to me that this work is not to par and that I was being over charged. He had a very large ditch dug around the north face of my home which we had to step or jump over to get access to 5 entry ways, and I had to insist he come out to fix the issues. He came out and put boards over the large ditch so nobody would be hurt. This was after he started the job in june and didn't correct this issue until november. I had to threaten to sue him to get him to come out to put the boards over the ditch for a temporary fix for safety reasons. I feel like he was in over his head with work and because of this I am out money.  He did not to the job properly or to my expectations. Finally I just had do dismiss him from any more services. I am still addressing standing water with further construction.
