    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
This renovation was a long time coming, & finding Horizon through Angie's List was a blessing. They had a great selection in their showroom of different products. We worked with contractor Mike Roppo, who immediately would answer our calls and was quick to fix any problems. The office was efficient in checking that every step of the renovation was completed on time. Our master bedroom is finally the sweet oasis we had envisioned.

    Construction Owl
Our house was built in 1968 and we hadn't touch anything. We were looking to remodel the kitchen and had some general ideas of what we wanted done but were a bit lost on how to get it done. I was already dreading the messy details.
Then we called Construction Owl (our first and only) to get the ball rolling. Guy came out free of charge for an initial consultation. He asked us about our objectives and tastes and while he was there presented us with some great concepts - much of what we hadn't thought of. We got a fixed estimate that day.
Before paying a dime, Guy provided us with 3D renderings of the proposed remodel. A very small down payment later and we were on our way. We got a detailed timeline for the job and then work commenced.
Every schedule point was hit and Guy called us almost daily to let us know what was next. Despite the fact that there were things we forgot in our original request (some lamps for the ceiling, painting of an adjacent wall, etc.) there was no change in price. In fact, despite several other surprises (you can imagine when dealing with a house this old) there never was a single change order request.
Guy even went shopping with us and helped us pick everything out from the tile, counter tops, paint all the way down to the cabinet handles. Again - at no extra charge. And best yet, he was prepared with his own recommendations (most of what we went with - he has a fabulous eye for this stuff) so even the shopping - which I dread - was a piece of cake.
The workmanship was fabulous. The cabinets (custom built) came out better than I could have imagined and all of the work from tile to counter top was top notch. And again - all done on schedule.
In the prior year we had our bathroom remodeled. I had to deal separately with plumbers, electricians and masons. So I know the pain of remodels. With Construction Owl - we dealt with one person - Guy. What a difference that makes!
The living room fireplace removal and painting was pretty much the same story. One call - a fixed estimate and absolutely no problems.
This company was just fabulous. I can't recommend them enough and have done so to anyone I hear of planning a remodel. I will never use anyone else.

    Patio Warehouse Inc

I am a very demanding and knowledgeable customer expecting a great product, quality workmanship, responsive customer service and prompt attention to details.

I vetted several patio installing companies before selecting Patio Warehouse to install our new patio.  I could not be more pleased with the results.

Despite being a more demanding project, Patio Warehouse met every one of my concerns and promptly responded to any issues that I may have had.  The work crews were polite, sensitive to our environment and cleaned-up the work place every day.

Most often, I am hesitant to make recommendations.  However, when I receive a great product, outstanding customer service and at a competitive price, I want to tell everyone.

I was referred to this company by ABC Sun Control as I was looking for a retailer/installer to purchase a motorized sunscreen.  I spoke with the receptionist on 5/21/14  who told me I would receive a call back in one hour.  The owner called me back 3 days later on 5/24/14.  I told him that I assumed he didn't want my business since I had called 3 days ago.  He then hung up on me.  I called him back and said "you hung up on me".  He said, "that's right, I don't deal with sarcastic people and I don't need your business because I do millions of dollars of sales per year".  He then hung up on me again.  I called him back and started off with an apology since he thought I was sarcastic (although I really did think they didn't want my business since my job was small).  He hung up on me again.  I reviewed this company on Yelp and they have horrible one star reviews for being rude and unprofessional.  Here are two links:
    http://www.yelp.com/biz/all-pro-remodeling-orange
    http://www.yelp.com/not_recommended_reviews/anLkWPkrA3xn1Iavksg-Bw
There are some good reviews in there but then I question whether those reviews are from friends trying to help him out. Otherwise, there would not be so many negative reviews.  Same thing with the positive reviews on this site.  I'm hoping the owner reads this so that he understands why the first words from me were that I didn't think he wanted my business.  I wanted him to understand that his receptionist promised a call in one hour and he waited 3 days.  I also wanted him to know I was referred to him by ABC Sun Control.  The only way he will ever know this is if he reads these comments since he hung up on me three times.

    Patios By B&B Inc

I waited a year to post this review so I could be absolutely positive that my project was perfect in every way.  I am beyond a perfectionist and find it extremely challenging to find anyone that can meet my standards.

Patios By B&B exceeded all my expectations and more.  Paul and Jeff Goldman are the real deal. They are consummate professionals from start to finish.  Communication between myself and B&B was almost instantaneous, I never had to wonder what was happening or have an unanswered question.  I had a complicated backyard makeover including several simultaneous projects involving several contractors.  The patio, paver and drain work was tied into a complete swimming pool remodel and required several city inspections and lots of rescheduling to accommodate the other contractors.  Paul and Jeff have a complete satisfaction attitude and anything that was requested of them was taken in stride with a smile, they are very easy to work with.

I am looking forward to B&B coming back this year to makeover my front yard.

l needed a construction crew to work on my back yard because I was hosting a Christmas party for my family and friends.  I was very fortunate to have met Jeff GoIdman, who was prompt at responding to my calls and thorough with answering questions.   They went out of their way to complete the projects in time for our family Christmas party, despite the limited time constriction.  Their performance went beyond our expectations and we are highly satisfied with the results and the quality of their work.  I am referring Patios by B & B to all my friends and family because their crew, especially Jose, was very professional and punctual.

    Patios By B&B Inc
I found Patios By B & B on another review site and felt compelled to call them due to their excellent reviews.  Jeff Goldman responded to my inquiry immediately and we met on Sunday (can you believe it!?) March 17th in the morning.  I was in the market in for decorative concrete overlay but after reviewing the area Jeff felt that the existing concrete was in pretty bad shape and would need to be replaced.  We discussed different design ideas for the hard scape and the patio and by Jeff's recommendation we agreed to work with Paving Stones due to the excellent warranty and durability that they offer.  Jeff gave me several options in different price ranges which allowed me to pick and choose as an educated consumer to make sure my project was perfect and still fit within my budget.  We agreed that day on the design and the price and set a start date for March 28th.
On March 28th Jeff met the crew on the job and got everything going without a hitch.  The paving stone project turned out gorgeous and only took about 3 days (would have been 2 but some of the paving stones were stained from the distributor and Jeff rejected the batch and replaced them with clean paving stones).  The job started on Thursday and was complete Saturday and I was happy already!
On Monday April 1st, Jeff again met the crew in the morning and laid out the project for the patio cover to ensure the overall success of the job.  Jeff was here every day of both the paving stone project and for the patio cover which was a great asset to the proper outcome of my new patio.  The patio was completed by April 2nd in the afternoon and I couldn't be happier.  My entire backyard is transformed in under a week and it was absolutely a great experience working with Jeff and everyone on his crews!
Jeff had great ideas for the design and even suggested that I add lighting.  He was fantastic and patient with me as I was indecisive on colors and styles of paving stones.  One of the great assets that Jeff has available to him are all of the pictures in his iPad.  This allowed Jeff to illustrate all of the options and ideas that he had available.  He will work with you to make sure that you are the happiest customer you possibly can be!
Jeff Goldman and Patios By B & B are committed to excellent customer service and set the bar for professionalism in their field.  You will be happy you chose Patios By B & B!  I know I am.

    Do It Right Remodeling
2005 Project patio cover and rain gutters
The project went so well, we were leaning toward using the same general contractor (Ron) on future projects.  Fall 2006 major remodel of kitchen, family room, utility room with half bath. We remained in the house during the work so schedule was as important as controlling cost. Lots of planning and decisions need to be made and we soon learned how easy it is to work with this duo. I had my concept drawings which were incorporated into the planning, plus a wish list if we could keep the budget and schedule under control.
Comparing bids was an eye opener. Ron?s bid included everything, including all subcontractor work, permits and inspections. The other bids I received, had hidden costs; tasks I would be responsible for such as demolition, patching and painting, electrical  and all the plumbing. I had to wonder what those contractors were trying to pull. Their bids were nearly the same as Ron?s; however, their hidden costs nearly doubled the real project cost and I would be doing all the subcontracting and paying each subcontractor separately. In effect, I would be the general contractor. Needless to say, we selected Ron and never looked back.  We came in ahead of schedule and under budget (even with our wish list add-ons). Visitors to the house seem as impressed with our kitchen as we are. They are amazed at the cost and how fast the work was completed in.  Winter 2007 remodel of guest bathroom and master bathroom. I called Ron for a sole source bid, having learned I had absolute trust in him. Even though we had a half bath available, I decided not to tear up both bathrooms at the same time, So we could keep at least one operational while the other was being remodeled.  That decision increased the cost and schedule but not enough to make me abandon the plan.  The remodel came in on schedule and on budget. Again, we had a wish list including heated floor and travertine wall and floor tile, which we were provided at a cost we couldn?t pass up.
Once again the outcome was great. The guest bathroom is nice but the master bathroom is the envy of everyone that has seen it. Everyone who has seen the house is impressed at how it came out and can?t believe how fast the work gets done. 2009-10 Driveway, entrance, decking, pool and water fall project was the most recent major renovation.
Ron and Don had started their own business (Do It Right Remodeling).  I learned they not only used the same subcontractors, but they added additional subcontractors that expanded the scope of jobs they would accept.  This was a major massive undertaking of landscape and hardscape.  The driveway and front of the house provide a curb appeal that I had not envisioned. The backyard decking and pool with water feature went from a place I hated to spend time to the area is now, where all our guests like to go to sit and relax and my wife and I do too.  For a non-living area, this has become a place to relax and enjoy life. Finally, in 2012. A landscape drain system to move water from the backyard to the street to prevent flooding due to rain build up in the winter months. That has proven to be something I wish we had done years ago instead of manning sump pumps during the rainy periods.
My Final thoughts about why we recommend the Do It Right Guys. As the homeowner, I took an interest and active role in the remodel. I got to know each subcontractor and most of their men and we seemed to enjoy exchanging thoughts, ideas and teaching each other (not everything we talked about had anything to do with the projects). The result was, we were all on the same page. I was kept informed which made me feel confident in the work plan (minimizes worry and anxiety) due to the trauma of tearing up your house and life.
Finally, my wife says I need to comment on the cleanup activity of each of the subcontractor teams. We had heard stories about the mess others experienced when they remodeled. We did not experience those problems, regardless of the activity; be it demolition or new construction, each team did a very good job of cleanup and removal of rubble and mess. If I have not made my point yet, the price paid was better than fair and the schedule is compressed (not the horror stories I have heard about jobs that just never end).  So; If you are remodeling, repairing or building and looking for an excellent general contractor that you can trust, work easily with and get what you agreed to pay for without hidden costs and completes work on schedule; then I recommend you ?Do It Right? with Ron & Don Bar-Lev

    LA QUINTA PATIO CO
We weren't members of Angie's list at the time we had our patio cover done. So, this review is long over due. But, it also has given us a chance to have some more perspective. We had a few different bids prior to choosing La Quinta Patio and have since watched our neighbors have their handy man install a patio cover. No one else held a candle to LA Quinta patio. They did everything right, including handling the permitting. All work was done as promised and on schedule by a friendly and professional crew. We would definitely use them again in the future. Could not have been more happy.

    Patio Warehouse Inc
This patio project was started and completed in a reasonable time period and we appreciated the good communication through Sarah in the company office. Our new Elitewood cover has a solid center section with an open lattice area on two ends. A number of new light fixtures were installed as well as an outdoor fan. The Patio Warehouse crew was conscientious and polite.  Along the way, we needed to make a few changes in design details and these experienced builders were very helpful and patient . . . Frank and the guys are amazing!  Their attention to detail and seeing the job through to the finishing touches are outstanding.  The final result exceeded our expectations; it is beautiful as well as functional for our outdoor enjoyment.  And one of the best things is that it will never need painting!
