    Knotty Nuff Wood, LLC
Ryan did a fantastic job! We asked him to build a custom cabinet from a rendering provided by an interior designer. He matched the look beautifully. The finished cabinet looks modern, sleek, and high-end. Additionally, Ryan was delightful to work with courteous, prompt, and faithful to follow through with what he promised. I highly recommend!

    BRILLIANT CONSTRUCTION
We have been collaborating with Graeme Chapman for 15 years as we upgrade our 1970s tract home and yard. We were the first clients of Brilliant Construction and have never regretted it. I admire Graemes craftsmanship, his honesty, his good taste, and creativity. He has put in skylights, new windows and doors, a new heater, custom closets, new bathrooms and kitchens, moved walls, and floors. He has built from scratch a fountain, an outdoor table, and garden walls that can only be described as brilliant. Graeme knows where to spend money and has not shied away from telling us when our ideas were too expensive or too weird. Together we have transformed a dumpy 1960s tract house into bright, comfortable and eye-catching home. One of the things I particularly like about Graemes work is the quality and integrity of his sub-contractors. They are prompt, good-natured, hard-working, and very capable. Graeme treats them and his craftsmen with respect and demands their best work. Work that does not meet his standards gets redone at his cost, but that was a rare occurrence. Naturally, when remodeling an older residence, surprises crop up. Graeme analyzes the problem and suggests the best way forward. We never felt like he used these issues to gouge us for more money and the problems addressed have stayed fixed. Brilliant Construction lives up to its name!

    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
My wife and I made the decision to completely remodel our 55 year old kitchen which included removing a couple of walls to open it up to the dining room and living room. After deeply vetting numerous contractors and securing proposals, we selected Horizon Construction in Fullerton, CA. Mark Besnos, company owner, was by far the most detail oriented and considerate home improvement contractor weve ever worked with. Throughout all phases of the project, Horizon provided extraordinary workmanship in a very timely manner. Of course with any major project there are a few challenges. Horizon Construction remedied every issue with effective contingency plans for any problem they encountered. Here is an excellent example of superior service: We selected and ordered quartz counter tops from MSI of Orange, CA. When the quartz counter tops arrived and were installed, they had a number of finishing defects which Horizon tried to repair. Unfortunately, the defects were irreparable and MSI would not stand behind their product and workmanship. Mark and Horizon Construction however alleviated our aggravation by selflessly offering us a partial financial reimbursement even though the counter top finishing was not Horizons responsibility. From beginning to completion, Horizon Construction exhibited professionalism, pride of workmanship and a commitment to excellence. If you are seeking the finest company to successfully bring your remodeling dreams to reality, Horizon Construction is unquestionably the one!

    Huntington Beach Cabinets & Remodeling
This was a major project taking many months of demolition, construction, and finishing. I'm so glad we went with Marc. His wealth of knowledge helped us design the addition (which had some unique challenges due to the shape of the lot). Once we got past the City's building permit process, the building process went well. Marc kept things moving along, and was either on site or was a quick phone call away. He's amazingly well organized! We always knew exactly where we were in the process and who would be showing up to do the work. The project required a lot of work by subcontractors, and he's picked his subs with care. We never had a problem with any of the subs -- which isn't typical of a job this large -- and they all turned out excellent work. Marc was very patient answering questions and listened carefully to my ideas. He never hesitated to speak up (nicely) when his experience told him there might be a flaw in my latest grand idea. In the end, we absolutely love the addition. Although you might find someone to do it cheaper, it's not worth the headaches of the all-too-common contractor shenanigans. We would not hesitate to hire him again. In fact, I don't think Marc every advertises for work as he's word of mouth reputation is sterling.

    Home Care & Repair
I hired this company to make and install cabinets for our kitchen. Initially things went well. After they were installed, there were some adjustments and small corrections that still needed to be completed. It's been 6 weeks and several promises later and we're still waiting on Able (the owner) to show up. He doesn't even bother to call to say he won't be able to keep his appointment. When I call him to find out why he never showed up, all he has are excuses. It's too bad he hasn't learned the value of keeping his word. I guess once he's been paid he doesn't think he has to stand by his work any longer. My advice is to find another company to work with or at the very least to withhold final payment until ALL work has been completed satisfactorily because you'll never see him again otherwise...

We could not be happier with our remodel and Marcs work and professionalism. Marc is patient, helpful, excellent communicator and knowledgeable to work with throughout the entire project. Return phone calls promptly. He always shows up on time. When subcontractors were required to do a certain part of a job, Marc always met the sub contactor at our house on the first day of the job to make sure they knew what was to be done and after their job was done, Marc would check again to make sure it was. As with any project there are sometimes unforeseen issues or problems, Marc always had an acceptable solution. Marc is fair, conscientious and does what he says he will do and his prices are very fair. Im a do-it-selfer who prefers to do projects myself because I am very particular and want things to be done to perfection the right way. I will tackle any project but some are too large such as our remodel. At the beginning of our remodel there were several phases that I was going to do myself. But after observing Marcs work at the beginning of our project, I had Marc do the areas that I was going to do because of his attention to detail and doing work the right way. No short cuts. Marc is the owner of his company working with his son. The advantage of working with owner operator contractor is you communicate directly with the boss and the owner is doing the work, not middlemen with larger contractors such as salesman and multiple crews. My preference is always to hire this type of contractor. Even after this rather large project has been completed, I have a few future projects that I was considering do myself. Now I will hire Marc to them. I would not hesitate to hire Marc again! Best contractor I have ever hired and Im in my 70s.

    Woodcrafters
If you're looking to get some custom cabinets done, look no further. When I sent Woodcrafters a message through Angie's list I was contacted by Pete by the next day. I was able to have him come and give me a quote the same week. Pete was very professional and patient with me, after several measurements and revisions to what I wanted to do. He was always very quick to reply to my questions and most important of all he finished the job earlier than planned. The cabinets turned out just as I had envisioned. Pete is now on my speed dial list for any cabinet work that I'm planning to do in my condo.

    APlus Interior Design & Remodeling
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alex & all of the great folks at APlus! We started with a tired, dark 1958 galley kitchen & an awkward living space, and now we have the open-concept home of our dreams! I knew I wanted to take down two walls, but I couldn't see how it could work -- fortunately, the APlus pros have the vision I don't. Alex helped us really put together a design that is perfect for us -- he has such a great eye for style and colors and everything! I still can't decide what my favorite feature is: the gorgeous stone fireplace, the amazing, enormous windows, the beautiful reclaimed barn wood we used for special features, the shiplap, the brick backsplash, the huge, spectacular island with a butcher block baking station at the end, or even the dog-feeding station built into the end of it! It's awesome -- thank you soooooooooo much, Alex!!! Quality is critical. I think this is a great example of our experience: we relocated a door, and new cabinets went in on each side of it. But the carpenter noticed that the door was not perfectly centered in that space, so he tore it out, moved the whole door frame and everything (a big job, really) over to the left 3/4" to make it perfect. I've got to be honest -- it's a door leading to the garage, and I never would have noticed this. But I love that he noticed & it mattered to him to have it just perfect. (Thank you, Mark!) But the best part, honestly, was how every single person from APlus was just SO NICE!!! They really went above and beyond to help us, even with a million big & little things they really didn't have to do. It's just a pleasure to work with such kind people!!! (We miss you, Juan!) I was looking for a company that could do it all, because we are a busy family with kids & pets and I just couldn't deal with managing a bunch of different contractors: electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.... With APlus, I didn't have to. They managed everything, and exceeded my expectations in every way.

    C & M Kitchen Cabinets Inc
Jacques was great to work with and his knowledge and workmanship was excellent. He showed us various cabinet door catalogs to help with our decision, and he was totally willing to custom-mix the wood stain color we had in mind. His sub-contractors (plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile) were all very professional and clean and all had been working with Jacques for 10-15 years each. As for the budget, we had a dollar amount in mind, and his was in the right neighborhood. There were several add-ons we requested after the work began, which he accommodated without issue. Jacques responded to calls or texts very promptly. We were told each bathroom would take 5-7 weeks, and for the most part, that was true. There were minor delays here and there, and we did start the work late in the year near the holidays, but it all worked out fine. Like any job, especially on an old house, there are unforeseen costs that will come up which will take you over budget. This cannot be blamed on anyone. My only complaint would be that he could have communicated a little better on dates and times when workers would be showing up. We frequently found out the night before what would be happening the next day. But the end product was excellent and we are extremely happy. We will definitely hire C&M again for future remodeling projects. Description of work: Remodel guest bathroom: Remove vanity and toilet. Keep existing cast-iron tub. Build new custom vanity and new floor-to-ceiling linen cabinet. Electrical updates for code requirements. Repair drywall and old crack in plaster ceiling, primer coat. Install new toilet, sink, granite countertop & backsplash, lighting, exhaust fan, etc. Replace tub drain (too old). New tile for tub surround & new ceramic tile floor. Epoxy grout used throughout (this was a small upcharge but totally worth it). Not included: Fixtures, paint, mirrors, cost of tile and stone. Total cost: $20000 Remodel master bathroom: Remove double-sink vanity and toilet. Completely remove 3ft x 3ft shower stall, curb, and shower pan. Bump out one wall of the shower stall to allow for a bench. Raise ceiling in shower stall to match the rest of the bathroom ceiling. Build new custom double-sink vanity. Electrical updates for code requirements. Repair drywall, primer coat. Install new toilet, double-sinks, granite countertop & backsplash and shower bench, lighting, exhaust fan, etc. New tile for shower & new ceramic tile floor. Epoxy grout used throughout. Not included: Fixtures, paint, mirrors, shower door, cost of tile and stone. Total cost: $22000 Extras: Install new cabinet doors in a hallway linen cabinet. Also new cabinet doors for above-closet storage cabinets in 3 bedrooms. 2 ceiling lights in kids bedrooms, move 1 wall sconce in hallway to recessed light in ceiling. Total cost: $2000

    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
This renovation was a long time coming, & finding Horizon through Angie's List was a blessing. They had a great selection in their showroom of different products. We worked with contractor Mike Roppo, who immediately would answer our calls and was quick to fix any problems. The office was efficient in checking that every step of the renovation was completed on time. Our master bedroom is finally the sweet oasis we had envisioned.
