A Team Rodent, Wildlife Control and Attic Cleaning
Skyler Blanchard and his team (Matt, Jessie, Robert, and Brandon) were excellent. They were professional, punctual, patient, empathetic, and just incredibly nice. Matt came to our home around 10pm to remove the racoon; Jessie, Robert, and Brandon did the clean-out and installed the new insulation. They were very thorough in their explanations and answering questions, and Skyler was amazing in working with my insurance company (the insurance adjuster even commented that Skyler is quite knowledgeable). I would absolutely recommend this company without any hesitation.

    SOD Builders
Luxcess Home by SOD Builders LA epitomizes honesty, great customer service and real project management. Allen was at our house each day, made sure that all the daily tasks were finished in a timely manner and made sure that all the craftsmanship meets or even surpassed our expectations. Allen proved to us how professional contractor he is, friendly and great manager. Allen managed our remodeling project that included the kitchen, living room and the hallway at our house. He made many recommendations such as the materials, finishes etcDuring the remodeling, we were living at the house while the working crew made sure to respect our privacy and to do a great job while sealing and separating the working area from the living space. We are very happy with the final results. We referred several friends to Allen and one of them did hired him for his complete remodeling of the master bedroom and bathroom.

    Building Doctors
Absolutely awesome, from cradle to grave of the project. From consultation to follow-up post completion, Bldg. Doctors is simply the best for what the offer and provide. No "surprises" in any category: Estimate on cost of materials and labor to be used, final cost and follow-up - All spot on! Thoughtful crews, conscientious of their clean-ups, and in covering furniture and floors - all of it. No complaints.

    Corky's Pest Control
We have a Spanish-style house built in the 20s that is charming but not well insulated from pests. Ants (and moths - but that's another story) have been our biggest pest problem. There is no doubt in mind that what were experiencing was an infestation - in the yard mostly. But it eventually started feeling like they were moving into the house, too. After a few years of "home remedies" and dozens of mornings waking up to a new trail of small blank ants traipsing through some newly discovered part of the house, we decided it was time to call an exterminator.
Ramon was great. He came out and sprayed around the property - along the perimeter, along the foundation of the house, in the crawl space (it's more of an unfinished basement), as well as inside the house. He hunted down nests in the yard and destroyed them, and he all but eliminated our VERY BAD ant problem.
Note: I don't think they usually go in crawl spaces, as they tend to require, well, crawling. But our house is on a hill, and the crawl space is very tall/accessible. At first (before he'd seen it), Ramon said he couldn't go under the house into the crawl space because his tank would spill. But when he saw that it has an elevated subfloor with the ability to stand inside the crawl space, he did go in and take care of that area, too. Yay!
A few weeks after Ramon sprayed, we did notice one area of the yard (where we have an outdoor seating area set up) seemed especially overrun by ants. We're going to call and see if they can come back for a follow-up visit. But I don't blame Ramon. I'm honestly amazed at what a difference he was able to make with one treatment.

    The Manly Man Handyman
Overall, MMH did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to use them again. They showed up when they said. Early afternoons off helped me keep sane through all the pounding and sawing. Their workmanship was good. Importantly, it was easy to communicate with Josh and Jason, and they were adaptable to my suggestions. I appreciated the helpful touches: rehanging some hooks and putting back some shelf racks. Both gentlemen were pleasant and professional.

    Attic Guys
The receptionist said someone would contact me in 2-3 hours. They did. The fellow was very short and unhelpful. He seemed preoccupied. He asked me what kind of insulation I wanted. When I said that I didn't know, there was a long pause. He seemed irritated to have to explain the options to me. Obviously, I would never consider working with a company that treats me like that.

    R B H Insulation Inc
Very well.  They came on time, performed the services as promised quickly and efficiently.  They left my place as clean as when they arrived.  They plugged the holes in walls with styrofoam plugs making it easy for me to just spackle and re-paint.

    Progressive Insulation & Windows
The installation went quickly, the installers came at the right time, used plastic drop cloths thru the house. The insulation was a real plus, not toxic, non flammable, made from sand, the web site said, so I was impressed they would be so responsible.
On the down side the installers didn't have paperwork for me to pay them on the spot, so I assumed the company would send me the bill. After a month of no bill the company emailed me asking why I haven't paid my bill. We did sorted it out, they sent me the bill. I just got the rebate check, only about almost 3 months after sending the paper work in.

    Attic Guys
My first contact with Ron (salesman) was pleasant enough. The negotiation of price (they were the highest of my three) was a compromise. (It should be noted that  the work crew is great, even excellent). My problems began when they ran out of the special disposal bags for their vacuum which required the foreman to drive to Ontario for more (and gas for the vacuum as well). This resulted in them having to work late and still not being able to finish in one day as promised. I then noticed that the insulation that had been delivered to my front yard was unfaced. I was curious as to why there was unfaced rolls of insulation being used as I had only been familiar with faced (one side has Kraft paper on it to act as a vapor barrier for condensation created by temperature differences between attic aASHRAE standards are the most appropriate standardsnd living spaces). A quick search online informed me that the industry standard (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning, or ASHRAE) recommends  "faced" insulation in a "bare" attic, " unfaced" insulation where you are installing over existing insulation, NATION WIDE!. The Los Angeles Building Permit Office informed me that the ASHRAE standards are the most appropriate standards . However, the Building Inspector will pass unfaced insulation as a bare minimum in Los Angeles because insulation requirements (code) just require R30 and don't specify faced/unfaced.  I had a heated discussion with Ron (salesman) and John (ceo) which was finally settled with an increase in cost (to me) to cover the faced product.  I wish that I had been informed that their initial bid was for the inferior insulation. I think that they had a responsibility to inform me that the industry standard was not what they were going to provide. Their excuse was that Southern California homes do not need moisture barriers in their attics. I repeat that when I spoke with the ASHRAE agent and the Building Inspector Permits Officer I was told that faced insulation is the appropriate material. Anyway, after promising me at 9:00 pm that they would finish the job "bright and early" the following day (I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them) they called me at 9:00 am the next day to say they would not be there till the following day, which is today. They are in my attic as I write this. We'll see how they do.
