    Construction By Maya
I am a construction inspector and a very demanding client. I must say that Moses exceeded my expectations His creativity, quantity, and professionalism was superb. He finished the project on Time within budget and kept the dust and debree completely under Control. Everyone that comes to my home just says "Wow, who was your contractor?'' And I proudly say Moses. If you are even thinking about a project , do yourself a favor a give him a call.

We're moving house, but we're renting it out. We have a 60-year-old concrete deck showing its age, leaking badly, with some wooden support beams underneath falling apart with dry rot. We need to stop the concrete leaking at its poorly poored (circa 1958) seams, so that I'm not freaking out from far away every time it rains. We contacted a couple "waterproofing" companies who all wanted mutliple-thousand dollar jobs for skim coats or entirely new deck constructions. But Kevin listened to me.. He totally understood that we wanted a quick-and-dirty solution to keep the deck structurally intact and not leaking until we get back and can do something more substantial. Basically, that meant breaking out a ton of caulk and paint, and shoring up a bunch of the wood framing underneath. For a bid of $350-500, depending on labor and supplies. Not only that, but Kevin said he was available the next morning. Sold! Sure enough, 8am the next day, Kevin and his man Tony were on site and good to go. Quiet, efficient, polite and always keeping me up to date on the project status, and not taking any additional action without asking first. Six hours later, and the concrete deck looks ready for an El Nino winter, and the wood framing looks rugged and strong. The final charge was slightly higher because I asked him to do some further work outside the original scope. Nice work. Would definitely hire him again.

If all you want to do is to have a deck re-coated, and price is no object, the people whom A-1 hires work very hard, do a good job and try very hard to satisfy the customer. However, they do not claim to be carpenters.
If you want anything more, such as repairs, go somewhere else.
When it turned out that I needed to have all of the wooden railings replaced I left a message with A-1 suggesting that we get a carpenter involved. I got no response. The decking guys tore out the old  railings.  Lumber started to arrive, but it was the wrong length and width. Fortunately I was able to catch that. Next day the right lumber arrived but no carpenter. Again A-1 was unable to help. Rather than stand around we found a neighbor down the street who has done some carpentry and he agreed to help us out. The guys from A-1 agreed to pay him. Unfortunately he had never seen the balcony before the deck guys tore it out, so he didn't know exactly what he was supposed to build. I spent the next two days supervising and explaining what I wanted, and occasionally loaning some tools. After he was done there was some disagreement over how much he should get paid. Rather than have a neighbor upset with me i made up the difference myself.
After the wood working was done the deck guys did their thing and did a great job
When it was all finally finished A-1 sent the invoice along with the workers for them to collect the money. As far as I know they have never seen the job since bidding it.
After a lot of caulking and painting it looks pretty good, but never again. Next time I hire the guys who are going to do the work face to face. not some guy who then hires some other guys and adds a high  overhead/profit markup.

I called Jordan to discuss the costs and logistics of adding a deck to a home that I was interested in buying. He recommended I get in touch with an architect as one would need drawings and engineering plans. He was extremely helpful and provided useful information.

All workmen and their lead men were very professional and polite. They always left the work area neat and clean and were responsive to changes that always will occur. The minor problems were addressed professionally. You can feel comfortable that this company is not going to take advantage of you. It was refreshing to dobusiness with a company that appears to be intent on pleasing their customer.

This was by far the best experience we've had with any construction contractor.  They were there when they were suppose to and cleaned up every night before leaving.  Jordan was very responsive to suggestion and questions we had along the way and made some excellent suggestions that we adopted. We were very pleased with the results.

Well... He made assumptions about my ability to fund my project and basically turned down any negotiations. Basically cut and ran before discussing details. I am very unhappy with his ability to discuss items but am grateful I did not hire him.

He has been my contractor for over fifteen years. I have very rare cats and he built an area with a cat ramp that would remain untouched during the renovation so that they stayed safe. He also built a fence so that my dogs would be separated from the work in the yard. He is honest and does a perfect job! I think he is priced fairly. We have hired him four times now and I would hire him for anything.

No problems were encountered.  He was here every day and asked for our input as the project moved along.  The project was completed on time.  Everything was cleaned up when he finished. We would definitely consider Jordan for other remodeling projects around the house.  He is also fair in pricing and I feel we received our money's worth.  The end result is beautiful and we are very happy with how it turned out.

Mr. Hunsaker showed up on time for the bid, which was much lower than the rest.  The job began on time after a short period to order the materials.  Just before he began, I changed the request to add an option he had offered.  There was no problem and it didn't delay the schedule at all.  The work was perfect.  Mr Hunsaker is a great guy, & I couldn't have been more pleased.  A real pro.
