    The car is older and its a 2003. I don't want to buy another car. I had to pay for my kitchen, I can't pay for a new car now. It was a good experience. It was sad, because I had to pay. My air brakes wouldn't work. You push on the brakes and it wouldn't go. They knew exactly. They had all the technology to see what is wrong with the car. All the computer's stuff they need to have. They reset it. It wasn't working right, and they reset it again for no charge. If you take it there and say something is wrong, they will fix it. They are honest. Its cheaper than going to the BMW garage.

    They are great. They did a great job. They will fix it right away. The guy's father went to school with my son. The son runs the shop now. They are really good people. They don't charge you a overhead charge of the price. They are directly from the factory, and they charge you a labor fee to put them in. They do simple things like that.

    Detailer complained multiple times that I had hired him through Angie's list, and said that he didn't like doing show-level cars. When he asked if there was anything special I wanted him to do, I showed him some dirt on the driver's floor mat and asked him to deal with it. He said, "Oh, that would be an additional $XX (don't recall the actual amount)". I assumed that he was kidding, but he didn't remove the dirt. He spent less than two hours on the car in total, which I think is skimpy for the price he charged. I tipped him $20, and he looked at the money like it smelled bad. He did not thank me for the tip.

    I was a walk-in and asked if they could get this work done while i waited. They could and the wait was less than an hour. Next service at 55K is more extensive and I will make arrangements to leave the car.

    Auto Magic Mobile Detailing
    Luis from Auto Magic was 15 minutes early for our appointment. He spent 3 - 4 hours detailing my car and when he was done it was showroom-worthy. The exterior was flawless, but I was actually more impressed by his work on the interior. My car looked like the day I drove it off the lot almost 7 years ago. Very impressive.

    It was a family referral. It was under guarantee, so he didn't charge anything for it. Normally the price would be about $160 if it hadn't been under warranty. The quality was very good. We call them in the morning and they say, "Come on in the afternoon." They're pretty responsive. He has done oil changes for us, he has checked the brakes for us. Anything that has to be done, if he can't do it himself, he will tell you where to take it to to get it done.

    The people were so nice. I told them that I would like to put a deposit on the car and pick it up in a few days. They said that I could take it home that night, but I decided to wait. I was so excited to pick up my new car a few days later. I confess that I went driving around the city, just enjoying the stereo and the comfortable seats. Then I told my car to call my friend and all of my phone numbers were available through the Bluetooth. My friend commented on how clear the Bluetooth was. There is a really big speaker, on the top of the dash, that the phone comes through. I love my sweet little car, and I'm so glad that they gave me a great deal on the car.

    Though it took a few communication efforts in the beginning to get scheduled, this was totally worth it!
    2-man team spent 2.5 hours on my 2005 vehicle and it looks like NEW
    inside and out! They were courteous, professional and asked my opinion
    part way through to be sure I was happy.

    Chemical Guys, aka Detail Garage, aka Smart, Inc
    Check out their reviews on Yelp. They look like advertisements! They have professional pictures of the staff and cars in many of them. The reason for this is that any company with a decent budget can HIRE people to place favorable reviews on YELP! The reviews LOOK legitimate. Even if Yelp cared (which they do not), they have no way of knowing how many accounts a single person creates. A hired person (or staff) can place reviews over the course of two weeks and raise a company's rating from 1 star to five and collect a decent fee for doing it.
    The fact is this: Chemical Guys has the WORST possible customer service! Their parent company, Smart, Inc has an "F" rating on the Better Business Bureau. Check it out for yourself at tinyurl[dot com]/nrvq7gs
    I had a very bad experience and sent an email. A guy named Walter Salas called me and apologized profusely. He OFFERED to sell me a buffer for a $30 discount. I needed a buffer so I emailed him the day I was going to go in saying I would like to take him up on his offer. He emailed me back, saying to ask for him when I got there. He mentioned he would be there except lunch from 12 - 1pm. I arrived at 3:40 pm, well before the end of business, and I was told he was gone. I explained that he had told me I would get a discount. A guy named Caleb told me point blank that I was "out of luck!" He said, "You'll have to call Walter on Monday." I had driven 30 minutes on a Friday! He said he had no way of knowing what Walter told me. After insisting that he call Walter, he returned and said, "Walter says he does not remember you." I showed Caleb the email Walter sent me on my phone. Caleb actually looked ANGRY! He looked like he wanted to FIGHT me. He did not like the idea that I was proving him wrong. Chances are, he had not really even called Walter, and now he was going to be busted.
    After I refused to leave until I got what I was promised, a slick-talking Aussie guy comes out and starts to "handle me." At this point, although calm, I was FURIOUS! The Aussie agreed to call Walter. He called Walter right in front of me on his cell phone. I asked to speak to Walter, but they refused. After a few minutes, the Aussie guy says, "Okay it's all straightened out. Walter says if you pay full price for the buffer, we'll throw in a some microfiber towels and a clay bar." I STOOD THERE IN AMAZEMENT! Just days before Walter had emailed me and called me, hat in hand, begging my pardon and swearing: (direct quote from his email) "...that is not the way that we do business or the way that we treat our customers."
    I actually needed the buffer, and at that point I just wanted to get the h*** out of there, so I bought the buffer and left.
    When I got home, I realized that the special "backing plate" that they sell with the buffer was NOT INCLUDED. I had to drive another 30 minutes to this freaking place, because they "forgot" to include it in the box!
    When I got there, the 18 year-old guy behind the counter said, "Well I can't know for sure the backing plate wasn't in the box. You want me to just give you a backing plate?" I just looked at him. The look on my face must have made him realize he better get some help.
    Finally, a fairly reasonable guy came out, apologized, and said he would "take my word for it," and give me the backing plate. I took and left. I will NEVER darken their door again!
    Chemical Guys has a DECENT product line, but their slick website and marketing ($$ that would be better spent on customer service training), will lead you to believe that they are a more mature company than they are. Their Gardena store actually has a section cordoned off to the public, with a bunch of old video games and amusements for the staff. There are very conspicuous signs that say, "No customers! Staff only!" There is actually even a sign that says, quite appropriately, "CHILDREN AT PLAY!"
    Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!

    I love Starr Detail! have used them 4 times now, and would not use anyone else.  They respond quickly and courteously, my appointment is scheduled promptly, even though I live at the far border of their service area,  and they are meticulous when it comes to cleaning and detailing my automobile. Wouldn't hesitate to use them weekly if they were closer and had  weekly/monthly service in my area.
