    System Pavers
Working with System Pavers was a great experience. Their designer Daniel came to our home and spent a lot of time with us helping to design it until it was exactly what we wanted. There are so many choices of pavers shapes, patterns, textures and colors. He had a computer program where he could show us exactly how it would look done, which was extremely helpful. He was very patient with us as I looked at examples again and again and again comparing them until I found just the right ones. The project manager Peter then quickly contacted me once the job was booked and was available to us 12 hours a day 6 days a week. If he didn't answer the phone right away, he called us back very quickly and was able to help us with any issues or questions. He was very knowledgable and pleasant to work with. The crew, lead by Alex even started the Job one day early and were very neat and organized and they did an excellent job. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I am very pleased with how it turned out recommend them enthusiastically.

    Johnson's Tree Care Inc
They were professional and did a great job... the entire team.  The tree was dead and giant branches were coming down near the roof of the house... it was dangerous work.  They know what they are doing and there expertise was apparent, even cleared off the roof and gutters of the debris and pine needles. I highly recommend them.

    Vince's Landscaping Inc
They bothered to get back to me, unlike a lot of other contractors. They were reasonably priced and did high quality work. It was kind of difficult to coordinate with some of the other services we had going on in my yard at the time, but my interaction with them was pretty good. When they did start the job they got it done pretty fast.

    Bay Arborist
Tom is very knowledgeable, honest, and professional. He was prompt in all communication and arrived on time to do the work. During the initial consultation, he was thorough and gave great advice and guidance. Once on the job, he went to work with his crew and finished earlier than I had expected, even though my property was a bit of a challenge. My expectations were exceeded and I would recommend him to anyone for their trimming and removal projects.

    Home & Garden Construction Group
I purchased landscaping and design plans from Home and Garden Construction Group through an Angie's List special. The initial meeting was on time and they were professional in mannger so I felt very confident that they were experienced and would pick up on what I wanted .
I received the plans about a month after the initial meeting/consultation. The plans were easy to read and they had color pictures of the plants so that I could gain a pretty good mental picture of the design rather than just names of the plants on a piece of paper.
I would defiently use Home and Garden Construction Group again for design development.

Carroll Jr & Son Handy Man
Mr. Carroll and his team came about three times over a period of two weeks for different jobs. The first one was for outside door repairs. One door had come off the hinges; the other needed repairs to the latch area. He also fixed my front gate latch. I was satisfied with all the jobs he did on these doors.
Next, he and his team worked on my yard which needed a lot of clean up of weeds and trash. When they finished, it looked like a new yard. They hauled away the trash and weeds. Excellent clean up. They also replaced toilet seats on two toilets that day. Good work.
The final day's work came when they repaired dry wall in three rooms and the hallways in my house. Mr. Carroll had a drywaller come in to do this work. While he was working, the rest of the team replaced four inside doors and a double sliding door in a bedroom closet. They also fixed the loose slats on my son's bed and hauled away trash from my garage. The jobs were done well, except that the door knob on the hall closet was put on backwards, so it turns to the left to open rather than the right, The other problem was with the clean up on this day. We found screws all over the floors in the hallway and my sons' bedroom. The bedroom closet doors need a railing for the floor so that the doors don't swing back and forth. Mr. Carroll says that he will fix that on his next visit. Considering all the work that was done on that day, these small problems were no big deal.
Overall, Mr. Carroll and his team were professional and friendly. He took me to buy doors, and was able to get me some discount prices. I definitely would hire them again.

    Vince's Landscaping Inc
I made an appointment with Vince's Landscaping and they were right on time to take a look at my yard overhaul and provide a proposal.  They were on time, professional and provided advice on how some of the items should be completed.  I had a limited budget that were willing to work but may not be able to complete everything that I wanted in one shot.
They provided a price for the various items that requested and also a suggestion on what we could accomplish within my budget this year and them complete the remaining items the following year.
I decided to go with another company on a smaller scale but would defiantly would want to obtain another proposal from Vince's Landscaping next year for the remainder of the work that plan to complete in my yard.

    Dubois Gardening
Owner came to site in order to create a proposal and quote. After several days of waiting for a quote I emailed the Owner and was told he was going to decline the job. The entire process took about 2 weeks and resulted in nothing.

However, the big snag came in hiring a gardener to do the work. Sue recommended someone and they were just not responsive at all. It took a couple of months just to get them out to my home to start the work. So though it started in June with Sue, it did not finish until October.

I had to end up emailing and following up to make sure that the work would start. Probably should have taken a hint from that and hired someone else. The gardener was very poor in keeping me informed or showing any interest in doing the job.

The end result looked nice. The problem is that in actuality it did not meet my criteria of cost and low maintenance. One of the flower trees (Rose of Sharon) was struggling from the start and never really took off. The passion flower vine ended up requiring a lot maintenace in trying to train the vine and control the growth (which was difficult because it was in an awkward corner of the yard). The daisies and blue fescue started overrunning the yard and had to be continually maintained. The rocks that I chose because I liked the color, essentially were not used - the gardener had brought her own that she had around. Right now I have 2 sacks of rocks in my garage that I paid for and were minimally used as a token to me. The ground cover that I chose was not used as the gardener decided on an alternative.

To do it over, I would probably not use the landscape architect (though Sue herself was professional), but go directly to using a gardener and working out project details with that person.

    Ponderosa Tree Service
The man who came out was able to give me a detailed, itemized estimate on the spot. They came out when he said they would to do the work. They were very professional and cleaned up well. The prices were fair as well. And most importantly the job was well done.
