    Kilnacarra Masonry
This guy is a hidden gem. He is gifted at all trades and is also an excellent time keeper and cleans up as he goes along! I would never again hire someone else as Chris not only knows his stuff but is very detailed in that everything he does is done correctly. He even measured for our pictures to be hung equal distance not only to each other but from ceiling to floor. He arrived every day on time with professional tools and a smile. He has done a lot of work for us from simple to complicated and finished each one perfectly. He is fantastic and charges very reasonable rates. He has done everything from picture hanging to air conditioning installation to re-wiring all our electrical outlets and switches, to hanging heavy mirrored sliding closet doors to painting my entire house. He has replaced my stairs, which meant a lot of work finishing off walls and flooring and he moved a gas line for our new stove! This guy is amazing, I firmly believe there is no job he cant do. I highly recommend him. Sincerely, Claire Buckley

We enjoyed very much working with Avi, Sari and their crew at SOD builders to remodel our master bathroom/bedroom and guest bathroom. During the remodeling project, the communications between us and the people who been at the house was very good and in fact it really helped with most of the stress that we had during the remodeling. The quality of each one of the crew was top notch and we were really surprised when we saw how they work. Each one of them always wanted to be sure that we were happy. Sari and Avi were fun and easy people to work with in the design and implementation stages. They were a huge help for us since we our design knowledge was not big. They kept listing to what we likes and dislikes and help us to find the perfect products for our remodeling. At the end of the work, everything looks very beautiful and all of our questions were addressed and solved to our satisfaction. We dont see ourselves happier with the results of how our remodeling project came out.

    Cosentinos All About Home Repairs
Very well. Both times Alberto quickly set up appointments to visit for an estimate, provided a thoughtful estimate, came promptly and as scheduled to do the work, and fixed both problems successfully. In the second case with the joist repair, the project took considerably more time and effort than we thought at first, but we knew that there was a possibility of that happening. Even so, Alberto provided a better and cheaper solution to our problem than solutions that others were proposing to do. In short, I highly recommend Alberto for carpentry and repair work.

We worked with Allen and his team and sub-contractors from SOD builders on my master bedroom and master bathroom remodeling project that also included the addition of a walk-in closet. The remodeling project has been finished 2 months ago and I am still very happy and satisfied from the way it all came out. The master bedroom needed to be upgraded by removing the old carpet with a new modern hardwood floor, new coat of fresh paint, nice crown molding and wood shoe base, LED lighting all around with home automated switches and outlets, and new wiring for my home entertainment system. In the bathroom, they basically did everything from the removal of the old shower all the way to a new relocation of it with nice double sink vanity and lighting. The new walk-in closet was created by shrinking the master bedroom in few feet and extend it to the outside of the backyard. Allen put on all his skills and designing expertise and this was the main reason (to my opinion) why my remodeling project came out in such a success. When I asked his advice for the type and style of the new tile floor for the bathroom, his outstanding idea and suggestion was very impressive and his communications skills meet my needs too. All of the involved personal were very detailed and focused on the timelines and quality while making sure that the work will be completed as scheduled. I do have few more remodeling projects to do at my house and I will not think twice to hire Allen and SOD builders back again.

    Shaker Construction, Inc.
Out with the old, in with the new.  Phil from Shaker Construction helped pick out materials, including great ideas with the tile back splash, the small glass tiles added an elegant touch to the kitchen.
3 stops to pick out all the pieces, and I could just sit back and relax while the old kitchen disappeared and the new one materialized.  All while keeping the place clean and the kitchen usable as long as possible.  I love my new kitchen. Thanks Phil.
Shaker has work on many projects in my home, from small repair jobs to large remodels, I?ve always been very happy with the work.

We spoke with many contractors for estimates before beginning our remodel. Daniel was the most professional and friendly and seemed to understand our needs. He came out to our house several times over the course of a few weeks in order to go through all the details of our remodel and make suggestions for dealing with a few tough situations before any paperwork was even signed.
He rewrote our contract at least a half dozen times as we worked out the details, adding a few things to the list, removing others. He also had no problems at all when we decided that we wanted to do the finishing work (carpentry, painting, tiling) ourselves and even offered to build that time window into his work schedule (for instance, after he finished building out the new laundry room, we told him it would take us two weeks to tile, paint it, and finish the trim work, after which he would come back to finish installing the machines).
Once work started, he was fast, efficient, and detail-oriented. His workers were here on time every morning and worked through the day. Daniel was available by phone or text message at all times in case any problems arose and the few times we had issues with the work being done he immediately handled the problem without us having to ask twice (for instance, we were unhappy with the finished texture of the drywall in one room. It was fixed by the next day.
Overall the work was done over a month ahead of schedule and we paid exactly what was estimated on our initial contract. The work was top notch, and we couldn't be happier with it. No hidden fees, no problems that suddenly arose, nothing to worry about at all, really. Highly recommended.

    America's Dream HomeWorks
I'm a repeat customer. They did a full kitchen demo, design and remodel for our townhouse in 2012. In both the previous job and this year's job (full kitchen, family room, and master bathroom demo, design and remodel), the work was excellent, the quotation was accurate and their timeline was strictly followed.  This job was much more complicated but they finished the initially quoted job within seven weeks of starting (late January 2015 to mid March 2015). There were several changes we made mid-project that had to be wrapped up a little later. Kitchen and related work: Demo including removal of floor tile, cabinets, old appliances, old light fixtures, partial wall removal; moving sink and associated plumbing, moving vents and associated HVAC, removing bigger window and replacing with smaller window; update electrical panel for house to meet updated kitchen appliance power requirements; install new LED lights and switches, install new cabinets and appliances; install new sink and quartz counters and subway tile backsplash, install new floor tile, new texture and paint, install new baseboards Family room and related work (next to kitchen): Demo including removal of old carpet, wainscoting, partial wall removal; install new LED lights and light/fan and switches; install new hardwood floor, stain hardwood to match existing hallway, install new baseboards; install new structural support beams and concrete footing. Assorted work around the house: installing room lights and fans in all bedrooms and installing blower in guest bathroom. Overall we were very happy with our completed project and would happily hire this vendor and recommend this vendor to others.  For the sake of completeness I list the key pros and a few minor cons.

    1. Design and End Result - Mark, the company owner and a senior designer, listened carefully to what changes we wanted to make and provided 3D design drawings in a short amount of time.  We had two other contractors bid on this project and we did not get any initial sketches from them verifying that they understood what our final target layout was.  One of the contractors wouldn't even agree verbally that he would put the sink where we wanted it.  With Mark we knew that what he drafted for us after our initial on-site consult was what they planned to do and if we had any changes we could mark up the design draft and discuss.  The work contract is very detailed as well so I feel like they do their best to document and then meet or exceed expectations.
    2. Timeline and Schedule - I've heard many horror stories of contractors dragging their feet and missing deadlines.  I'm always impressed how well ADH schedules its work and workers so that there are no surprises as far as work progress.  They do what needs to be done to meet the contracted schedule.  They did start the bathroom and kitchen at the same time and they were planning to finish at the same time but the bathroom did finish first due to some structural work that had to be done on a load bearing wall in the kitchen.  Also we added many work items to the initial quotation and they were very agreeable about incorporating it into the initial schedule, to my surprise.
    3. Crew - The on-site crew (headed by Vlad B.) were professional and courteous and approachable.  As Mark says they are part of the family business.  They took pride in their work and they cleaned up every day.  I felt very comfortable working around them when I was at home.  They were very respectful of our home.  Every so often there would be area experts from their staff (hardwood floor install, wall texture, shower marble install) too and they were professional and courteous as well.

    1. Payment - After the initial designs are provided there is pressure to put down a deposit to proceed.  Given that they were the only vendor that provided designs upfront  I think I understand their desire to get a financial commitment but it may surprise some customers.
    2. Structural Support - Work was started without knowing for sure if the walls we wanted removed were load bearing.  We found out later there would need to be structural reinforcement.  We did have to slow down work on the kitchen while that unscheduled issue was addressed but everything eventually got back on schedule.  We had several discussions with Mark though and we clarified that the structural support had to be sufficient for a possible second floor addition in the future.
    3. Details - We caught some details before installation (noticed some measurement marks in kitchen for placement of fridge and nearby cabinets was off) and a few things had to be addressed after installation (design drawing for bathroom had cabinet above toilet but it was missing from work contract - I should have noticed that earlier, at install, was missing some drawers to be installed in bathroom).  Even though we've worked with this vendor before, in general, with a big contracting job it's important to check the details regularly (such as every day) independently by reviewing the contract and informally by discussing latest progress with the on-site project lead.  Communication is key.

    Morgan Construction
We hired Morgan Construction for three projects in our 50 year old home:  a full bathroom remodel, an office update that included installation of a pocket door and exterior work to insulate, weatherproof  and replace worn wood siding and shutters.  Though the bid wasn?t the lowest, we felt it was the best because of the time Dan spent listening to what we wanted, measuring and documenting the work.  A competitor who was Diamond certified and had a super service reward didn't do as thorough a job during the initial interview process.  Dan and his team completed the three projects beautifully, on time/on budget.  They minimized the disruption to our family, were tidy and just plain nice. His subcontractors - tile guy, mud guys, painter and carpenter all did excellent work and answered any and all questions.
I also want to mention that they did a really good job taking the time and detail work for matching existing trims and finishes. We like the company so much, we?re hiring them to update our electrical and to remodel our kitchen.
