    Element Home Solutions
I am very satisfied with the work performed by Element Home Solutions. The subject 1920's dwelling was void of insulation. Carlos conducted the estimate professionally, answered my questions and provided opinions. Manuel and Freddy were crew liaisons and responded promptly to my queries during the job. They laid and hung plastic to contain dust and vacuumed thoroughly afterwards. They vacuumed roof gravel from the attic, which had fallen from the removal of a tar and gravel roof decades ago. They sanitized and sealed air gaps prior to installing the attic insulation. Crawlspace air gaps were sealed and the insulation installed with straps to hold it in place, which provide much better support than wire rods. The job took two days and they left the area clean of debris. I will use them for another property in the future.

We enjoyed very much working with Avi, Sari and their crew at SOD builders to remodel our master bathroom/bedroom and guest bathroom. During the remodeling project, the communications between us and the people who been at the house was very good and in fact it really helped with most of the stress that we had during the remodeling. The quality of each one of the crew was top notch and we were really surprised when we saw how they work. Each one of them always wanted to be sure that we were happy. Sari and Avi were fun and easy people to work with in the design and implementation stages. They were a huge help for us since we our design knowledge was not big. They kept listing to what we likes and dislikes and help us to find the perfect products for our remodeling. At the end of the work, everything looks very beautiful and all of our questions were addressed and solved to our satisfaction. We dont see ourselves happier with the results of how our remodeling project came out.

After we met and spoke to many construction and home improvement companies, we came to a conclusion to hire Gal and his team of professionals at SOD builders for our large scale remodeling which was to remodel more than half of our house including: The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and our 2 cars garage. All the remodeling spaces we tore down and rebuilt based on the new design that was done by Gal after our meetings where we shared our vision, ideas and goals with him. During the work at the house, all of the involved people that did the actual work and Gal who managed them, they were all very skilled, hardworking people and professionals. All of their work turned out to be perfect. In this review we want to express our satisfaction and thanks to Gal mainly as he always heard to our concerns, questions and made sure that all of them will be nothing else than just easy issues that were solved professionally. We highly recommend all of them including SOD builders.

    SOD Home Group
It was the most stressful project I've ever been a part of. The workers sent by the owner were great. Hard workers that respected our home. The PM's (we had more than one depending on the week or month) were okay in the sense they reacted to my calls or text messages - they were mostly clueless what work, if any, were being done at my home. One day we have workers, one day we wouldn't. I was always promised a project plan of some sort, but never got anything. They use this online tool to track everything, but it was mainly to track what they already did and of course, how much I owe them. The owner Oren does really want to do good, but in my opinion he doesn't really do a great job operationally. His staff has told my wife and I countless times that they rarely know where they need to be until the night before. This is a terrible business plan considering the number of contractors in the Bay Area, but I also heard that's pretty normal. That's sad, just because you might have been really good at construction doesn't really mean to really know how to run a business. A project that was to take 4 months ended up taking 7. SOD wasn't the cheapest or most expensive. I went with them because the "sales guy" seemed VERY confidant that our project was "easy" and would be done quickly. Once the agreement was signed, I had to ask several time when they would start. I finally got an answer of July 4th that "someone" is coming tomorrow (July 5th). That someone did come and worked for about 3 hours taking out my walkway. Then I saw no one until the week after. I kept asking the sale guys what's going on - he said someone will give you a plan that I was asking for and then he was MIA. According to Oren, he fired that sales the month after we started but I think he's still on. The norm for the following 7 months was not knowing what's going on - when things needed to be ordered, what I needed to do (my responsibilities), when concrete was being poured, who was coming to install what. It was an ordeal that if you aren't prepared, you will stress out. The thing is, you can never be prepared if you have not gone through this before. I don;t know how many times I had to complain to Oren, who probably thought in the end was glad to see this project finish (in his eyes). I never heard from him and would have expected one last "thanks for your business", but again, contractors can be terrible business people. A few extra things to mention: Mario is solid. He and his team are the "finishers". Paint, trim, etc. He knows what he is doing. Jose the roofer is okay. Nice guy but I think for our tile roof he could have done better. We ended up redoing our entire roof to install insulation under the tile. The hardwood floor guy (can't recall his name) also solid. The framers and concrete guys were good, but be prepared to pick up nails and other small/sharp debris. We have two small boys and we still find things left behind. They also did the window install - solid. Our house wasn't level in all areas and they were able to install it and "cover up" it looking like it was off. The stucco guy did an okay job. For the new area, no issues (solid). The the stucco around the replaced windows, I'm still trying to figure out how to better blend it with the existing stucco. Torsten, one of the PM's, was great. He was doing his best to manage things and had my best interest at heart. Unfortunately, Oren pushed all the buttons. Alan, tried his best all the way from SoCal. And Tomer, nice guy but I really don't trust him. He would say things that were contrary to what needed to be done and even contradicted his own team and owner. He was winging it. Price: In the end, I would bring in my own sub's. I found out that I could have saved money if I got my own roofer, exterior painter, electrical, etc. Oren (the owner): Does care about his customers and workmanship, but he really should get someone to run the business operationally. I'm not saying its easy, but if you're going to commit to several projects at the same time, you better get good people to manage your resources and schedules if you want better customer service. I know SOD got some good ratings from past customers, but based on the project size, this wasn't successful project in my opinion. Maybe they are great for smaller ones, but this project maybe had too many moving parts. He'll probably claim that he has done larger jobs where customers were happy, and that might be true. However, this wasn't the case for ours.

The job went extremely well. Joseph and his team were fantastic. Joseph was great at answering any questions and keeping me up to date throughout the entire project. Joseph helped me with the design of the project and bought his team to help me with anything I needed. Joseph took care of everything throughout the entire project, without any headache to me. His team were professional, clean, and very nice throughout the project, even though I changed things a couple of times. They were reliable and prompt and arrived to do the work when they had promised. I would recommend Joseph and his team to everyone and will definitely be working with him in the future! Description of work: The architectural firm I work for needed various projects done involving construction, sound proofing, painting, window replacement, electrical work.

    GoodFellas Construction Bay Area
I worked with The Good Fellas Company and I am really pleased. Recently I decided to renovate the
bedroom and the bathroom and looked for a quality contractor who will be
competitive and offer fair prices. When I called the Good fellas company I
discovered how much they are polite and patient. After the meeting with a nice
guy named Avi ? the team came to our house and renovated our house just like in
the movies! He was a high-quality and punctual. I already I have recommended them
    to my family and friends!

Initially there was some confusion, because I understood their services to include blow-in wall insulation. But once we determined that they do not do that sort of work, we settled one insulating the floor in a part of the house that is a little farther from the central heater than other parts. We scheduled the date, they arrived on time and did the work efficiently.

This company feels like a scam.  We had just purchased our home and it was inspected prior to our purchase but we just wanted to double check the attic; we had not had any evidence of rodents or other problems.  The representative came out and put on gear and mask that looked like he was anticipating chemical weapons.  After a few minutes he came back and I asked how it looked.  He said pretty bad; he wanted to show me pictures of all of the rodent activity, and he quoted a treatment that would cost about $4,000.  I was shocked by th e pictures and the quote, and asked him to see the date on the pictures.  He fumbled around and said that that was really embarassing, and never convinced me that the pictures came from our house.  I declined to go up in the attic with him.   When I told him that the cost seemed extraordinarily high, he called his office and said that they had a big job in Palo Alto that they were finishing up and that they could discount the cost because they had some extra material and that they could come over right away (it was about 11:00 am).  He was very pushy and the whole thing did not feel right.
We decided not to do any work with them, and plan to have a regular inspector come and take a look since the previous owners are not aware of any problems in the attic.
I later read that this behavior appears to be a pattern with this company and I would not recommend working with them.  I called them from an ad in a home improvement flyer not through Angie's list.  Had I looked them up on Angie's List, I wouldn't have called them.

Atticare'S 3-men crew did good job in attic cleaning and reinsulation; but they did not even ask me about the crawl space which was promised by the salesman and written in the order. I have to ask them to go to crawl space. They filled some gaps but also said there are no gaps and holes surounded the house. This is not true because I have shown the salesman the day before and he said they will cover the holes and cover with steel mesh. Overall, with the $3,000 high price, I think they should do a much better job other than just the attic. Therefore,I could not give them high rating, nor recommend them to others.

Paul was an incredible contractor to work with.  Complete professional, understanding, punctual and very thorough.  He was easy to talk to and very accommodating, it was a pleasure to work with him.  He also has a great sense of humor and works until he sees the job is excellent and we are satisfied.  He and his crew were clean, polite and respectful.  Debris removed in a timely manner.  We highly recommend him and would not hesitate to use him again.  We feel like we have a brand new beautiful home!
