Drain Pipe Installation reviews in San Mateo

I had explained what kind of bathroom fixture I wanted and their choice was perfect. THey replaced it and cleaned the bathroom floor when they were finished  They also replaced 30 feet of drain pipe under the house. They waited until the washing machine had completed a whole cycle before they left. I am very pleased with their work and will use them in the future.

When I called they offered to have someone out to the house within a few hours, he evaluated the problem and provided my with a full details of the problem including pictures (pipes were in the crawl space) and an estimate.  The appointment was scheduled before he left to come back and complete the work.  He showed up promptly as scheduled (was actually early), completed the work as promised and left the area clean and tidy.

We were looking for a major overhaul of our back yard and when the time came to select a contractor, we interviewed several candidates. Zenscape was the only one that did not come with a personal recommendation, but the reviews on Yelp were so good that we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We met with several high-profile and reputable companies, but after a few meetings, it became clear that Brian was the one we wanted to work with. He had a clear and compelling vision for what the backyard could become, but more so than the other candidates, he seemed flexible in terms of accommodating our desires and needs.
Although Brians process is a little different than what we are used to working with, we actually enjoyed and would highly recommend it. Instead of a traditional approach where the architect creates a detailed design plan and the workers come in and implement that plan, Brian used a much more iterative approach -- He did create a conceptual plan that roughly showed proportions and where major design elements would be. We found this was more than enough to understand and appreciate his vision. During
the actual construction, things were extremely fluid and we were able to make changes based on how things actually looked in person rather than on paper.
Brians work ethic, attention to detail, and integrity also far exceeded our expectations. My wife is extremely picky when it comes to construction details this is probably the first time that we met a contractor who was actually pickier than us! Brian wanted to create the perfect backyard experience for us and spared no time or expense in making this so. For example, he made one of his workers remove the concrete footings for a bench not once, but twice because he didnt like the location in relationship to the overall site once he saw it in place. Another example was when he put in a large Japanese maple. He must have had his poor worker move it
to 10 different locations, moving it a few inches and rotating it a few degrees so he could make sure it was just right!
Brian also spent a lot of time making sure that the new backyard was not just going to have a pretty face. It turns out that the soil in our yard was mostly clay, which is why we were having so many drainage problems. Brians team replaced most of the clay with good soil and put in extra drainage pipes to ensure that there would be no future problems.
It goes without saying that we highly, highly recommend Brian and his Zenscapes team for your next landscape project. Youll be fortunate to have him on your team.

AKK Builders Plumbing & Water Heaters
Not a good experience.  Though the initial discussions went well and they were very courteous, the job went down hill from there.  The weather impacted progress, but the overall job took over a week to complete and they estimated just 3 days.  There were issues with the sub contractors they used for part of the job - with their tools failing (this added 2 - 3 days).  They failed the inspection twice and had to re-do portions of the job.  They did a terrible job filling back in the holes (where the pipe had been installed), the ground was not leveled, the grass was destroyed, and they left trash in the area.  They did come back out and correct the situation after I called and complained.  On a positive note, they were very good about coordinating the timing of the work to minimize the impact.  And in the end, they provided a slight cost discount in response the issues which occurred at the end of the job (filling back in the holes in the yard).

In & Out Plumbing & Construction
We were doing a kitchen remodel and we had to break a concrete slab underneath for new plumbing to connect to the drain.  We found that our drain line needed to be replaced for our kitchen (it was literally falling apart). We decided to reroute our drain line instead of repairing the existing line. They minimized the damage to our slab by digging underneath the slab and only breaking a small portion of it to dig the trench.  Once they got to the lawn they dug up the top layer of the grass to preserve the lawn and flipped it over.  They dug the trench and and connected the new line to the main drain, then back filled and re-seated the lawn.

The job took two days with a lot of crew members. They were able to do this all within two days but found additional damage as they dug.  They gave us a quote for that and I OK'd them to proceed.  Because of this additional work they had to come back the next day to re-pour the slab in the area they dug out.  But it was raining the next day and one of their service trucks broke down (Anthony called before the meeting time and explained), and after some discussion, he decided to pay my general contractor to finish the job (to pour the concrete.) This minimized the delay for us and got the job done despite challenges on their end.  Overall I felt like I was taken care of.

I would definitely call them again!

Work was done when committed and on budget, and the site was left clean. It was a little hard initially connecting with them, and I get the sense that they are very busy. Bottom line: I'd use them again.

It took about one week to complete the work. I was at home on leave so I was able to observe what happened. Tyler's crew was good and paid attention to detail. They made an effort to clean up at the end of each day. Tyler had no problem with extra's like installing a second drainage pipe when I thought one was not enough and regrading and area after work was completed. His crew also cleaned up parts of the yard and some dead plants that were not part of the quoted work. We are very happy with the results and hopefully the before and after pictures will give people a good idea of what was done.

During the estimate visit, he discussed options, costs, pros and cons. He was perfectly professional and knowledgeable. His folks came out on time and finished the job without any trouble at all. This may seem like a small thing, but to say we had NO trouble at all is really saying something for me. We had other folks telling us we needed to get a sump pump, but Dobel calculated the drop that we had and determined that it wasn't necessary. Now, a number of rainy years later, I can say that he was absolutely correct. At one point during the process they checked with me on the exact placement I wanted for the actual drains, but other than that, there was no hassle whatsoever. They showed up when they said they would, and finished exactly when they said. The price charged was the price quoted. And it works! Our experience with this particular company still stands out in my mind as a model of what a perfect contractor is. I'd hire them again in an instant if I needed any work done. Absolutely quality all the way.
