    UC San Diego Health System
Dr. Garfin fit her in the day after I called and told him that she was in severe pain.  Dr. Garfin is reputed to be the best spine surgeon in San Diego if not in the entire state.  He was thorough in his exam, explained the surgery and the possible consequences.  He took his time even though he was very busy.  His residents also saw my friend and explained even more details.  Surgery was schduled for the next week after she was sent to her internist for a complete pre-surgical exam.
The surgery was a complete success.  After surgery, the sciatic pain was completely gone.  Five days after surgery, my friend was no longer in need of any strong pain relievers.  She left the hospital after five days.  SHE IS 90YEARS OLD.
Dr. Garfin's nurse practitioner, Liz, is brilliant and has learned everything about the practice of orthopedics of the spine.  She is kind, smart and helpful.

    Kaiser Permanente

We have used Kaiser for years and it is our provider of choice because it is a good balance between quality care and not having the complications of dealing with tracking the day to day expenses of a PPO or other insurance plan. It is worth a lot to us to not have to worry about monitoring the bills to see if we have been overcharged for a service. Their record keeping and tracking of your history, immunizations, prescriptions etc is top notch.

The caveat is that you do have to be aggressive about finding the right doctor - especially with finding the right primary care doctor. There are some great doctors that work for Kaiser and some that have really disappointed us. What you have to do is do your research - Angies list, Yelp, friend referrals until you find a potential primary. Make your appointment and see how it goes. Stay with the doctor only as long as he/she seems to be helping you. If you start to feel like they are not the right one for you, don't hesitate to move on with your search. No one at Kaiser will interfere with this searching process and eventually you will find that one doctor you can trust for your care.

    San Diego Sleep Therapy
Everythin gwent great. I am not snoring any more, which is good for my heart and my wife sleeps through the night too. I don't have to wear a mask of any kind, there are no tubes and no noise. The mouth piece took a couple of days to get used to, but after a month I prefer wearing it, as oppossed to not. The office staff is wonderful -- very helpful.

    Charles Moss MD,FAAMA
He treats people with not the traditional western medicine, he does not treat symptoms, he tries to find the cause. He is non traditional as far as western medicine is concerned. I would credit him with probably saving my grand daughters life, and he treats children to people who are very old. He gives medication, but that is not his first plan of attack.

    Navazo, Dr. Luis
This MD sent a nurse practitioner to my home upon my request. She (Victoria) came to my home. I had been ill for several weeks and kept passing out, fainting and finding myself on the floor of my kitchen. She came and saw me, did a physical exam, and ran my blood count right at my bedside. The device is called an ISTAT. The results show up immediately and after examining me. I was so ill that I felt as though I was going to die any second. She failed to report the results of my blood-work up until 5 days later to Dr. Navazo. A normal CVC is hemoglobin 12-14. KRIT norm is 35-45. My hemoglobin was 3.2, and my KRIT was 11. This is incompatible with life. I spoke to him, and he admitted to me that he had made a mistake by not looking at my results. I ended up at a local hospital for 5 days and received 5 units of blood. Now I am bankrupt due to the hospital bill. He's being investigated by the AMA. Do not use this man. He will do anything to protect himself. Why fabricate? I swear this is true. I'm an RN and I know what I'm talking about.

    Kaiser Permanente Medical Center

Overall my health has improved greatly since starting with K/P, My previously high blood pressure is now down to near normal levels with no adverse side effects. My weight is now down 10 pounds to exactly what it should be. My moderate insomnia has been remedied with the instructions and guidance of a self help course taken at home from the K/P site on the internet. I am eating much healthier foods again with the guidance given to me at K/P and all in all I am sure that I have added many years of vital, healthy living to my already wonderful life.
Incidently, before starting with K/P, I used to dread the whole miserable experience of a doctors appointment, dealing with snappy office staff, the sometimes preoccupied medical personnel and the difficulty of going to many different and sometimes hard to get to locations for the various tests, xrays, MRI's, lab-work etc that are increasingly necessary as we get older but  here, at K/P with practically all ancillary services in the same building, I actually find myself enjoying going there and being among such a positive upbeat skilled group of people.
THANK YOU SAN MARCOS K/P PEOPLE FOR LOOKING AFTER ME SO WELL

    Santos, Dr. Camille
She acts nervous, turns to her computer on the wall immediately after greeting you. Seems distracted and annoyed if you tell her more than one complaint. She would be good, I feel, for younger patients who have an obvious infection or problem - but not for older patients who have, say, arthritis pain, thyroid disease, high blood pressure.

No longer in San Marcos. Without notice, moved to downscale Escondido, at 925 PA Avenue which is not accessible by car from PA Ave. When there, found office closed at time of appointment, having nobody there and the door locked. Should have called me if unable to perform at scheduled time.
