AEcoArtisan BuildersMark’s work for us entailed remodeling a kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry “nook”, and second bath into a much more beautiful and functional kitchen, hall with broom closet, laundry room, second bath, and sauna. The project plans were created by our architect, David Underwood, who gave us the recommendation for Eco Artisan Builders. In short, we are thrilled with the result. Mark’s attention to the thousands of details and care for the project—care that we were getting what we wanted—was evident every day. He provided us a planned schedule for all the work, and communicated frequently on the status. He handled most of the decisions that needed to be made regarding construction minutia, and consulted us on decisions that he judged (correctly) that we might care about. In making those decisions, he provided us great input based on his decades of experience. Living in the house during the remodel, we had the opportunity to observe the work throughout the process. I would often hear Mark give a workman detailed instructions on how a task should be performed. If he felt something didn’t meet his standards, he saw to it that the work was corrected. Mark’s carpenter and all of the subcontractors on his team shared the same level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and care for the finished product. You hear horror stories of contractors disappearing for weeks, working on another (more important) project. Mark does not work that way. Almost every work day, there was at least one crew at the house. In the few exceptions, it was usually because one crew had completed their part early, and the next crew in sequence could not come until their scheduled date. The project started August 5th, with final inspection scheduled on November 23rd. As things worked out, our project passed final inspection on November 23rd! Mark noted that he isn’t “always” this exact in his estimates, which is easy to believe in this business. There were some glitches along the way, of course. The construction uncovered some plumbing problems that needed to be corrected, which set the plumbers back a couple of days. In this Covid era, supply chains are impacted, and often unpredictable. In one case, the Solatube installers showed up with the wrong parts, forcing the work to be rescheduled. Mark kept on them and saw to it that they returned in time to not impact our overall schedule. Mark did a fantastic job of managing all these moving parts. It really was a pleasure working with Mark. Even in the finishing up, when we already had a beautiful new house, he took great care in handling the final small details and giving the place a deeper cleaning. His care for the final product and for our satisfaction was very evident throughout. Thanks in large part to Mark’s work and care, we have a project done right, and a house we absolutely love.- Thomas B.

AThe company relies upon the customer to locate and mark any areas for touchup after the initial painting has been completed. That being said, the company is very accommodating in returning to address the touch up areas. It took a few trips to address everything, but in the end I was very happy with the results...and I am very picky.
