    SAGE ECOLOGICAL LANDSCAPES
This did not go well and we parted 8 months after we began the process. We heard a variety of reasons why things were not progressing - short staffed, people sick, holidays, weather etc. We were originally quoted 1-2k for design work. We have an extremely small backyard and were thus surprised to get a bill for 2500k with implementation costs of 42k. We then received another design bill of $600 and had had enough. They stated that we had asked for a number of changes that required more work. We did ask for a few changes but also pointed out a number of mistakes they made (they had a Cal Poly student doing the CAD work) which required rework and wasted out time. Would not recommend them. This is the problem in this area when times are good they have more work than they can handle.

    SLO Mow
Don't waste your money with this company. Their staff is unsupervised and irresponsible. Our property was recked by their mastication operator and despite several requests to fix the issue, they were not able to get it right. The owners made un-ending excuses, were unprofessional and difficult to reach while their crew was on our property. They than handed us a huge bill and claimed the mastication operator worked 4 hours more than he actually had. Of course, they were never on the property, so how would they know. Stay away

    Ruddell Tree Service
I had a dead tree that needed to be cut down. It was great, $20. He just lives a block from me. I sure wasn't going to get a hand saw out there and try to cut it down. That included hauling it away, chipping it and using one of those blow things to clear off the bark and all that. I won't get that again, but then again, I don't have any other trees.

The price was very reasonable. I’m very happy with the work they did. We were very happy, everything was done in a timely manner, and very courteous. They cleaned up very well. We were happy with everything, the work, the pricing and the time line.

We have been consistently impressed with Bruce's expertise, thoughtful advice on projects, reasonable rates, and honest, likeable nature. We would trust him to complete any project. Heck, I'd like to adopt him! When he was completing work on our house before we moved the 200 miles to San Luis he even texted us a picture of our dry lawn, recommending that we have the gardener extend the watering time AND plugged in pheromone diffusers so our cat would have an easier transition to his new home! Bruce was in many ways our "welcoming committee" to San Luis Obispo, showing us by example why SLO was the best choice to escape the rat race.

    SAGE ECOLOGICAL LANDSCAPES
I contracted San Luisito Inc. DBA Sage Ecological Landscaping located in Los Osos, California (License #87817) for the recent contract work completed on my home in the summer of 2016.  My personal experience with the company, and owner Todd Davidson was terrible.  I paid over $42,000 for our landscaping contract.

The concrete constructed in our back yard is uneven and protruding upward.  The concrete appears old as if a tree root is pushing it upwards.  When looking down the length of the yard, the concrete appears angling upwards and not level to the eye.  My wife and I voiced our displeasure with the construction.  They refused to back up their work and provided justifications for why it was not completed properly.  I must now contract another landscape company to fix their poor craftsmanship at a cost of several thousand dollars.  Owner, Todd Davidson offered us a free pot to try and cover up the uneven concrete and their poor workmanship.  We declined the offer.

We communicated we wanted a dual purpose seating/bench area and provided photos of exactly what we wanted in the design phase of the contract.  Our design ideas were not followed and the company built what they referred to as a seating wall instead.  We had never discussed a wall to sit on, nor had we ever heard of people sitting on a wall as a gathering place.  We again voiced our displeasure with the wall.  They refused to fix the error and told us we could have it completed as we desired if we paid thousands of dollars extra to fix their error.  We declined.

We were billed for the final invoice for the contract.  We reluctantly paid the bill.  Two weeks later we received a notice that we owed an additional $10,000.  We requested the bill be explained and the additional 10K substantiated.  We received a intimidating letter from Todd Davidson threatening to put a lean on our property and sue us if we did not pay the bill.  We again, reluctantly paid the bill.

In addition to the above stated issues, we experienced numerous other problems with Sage Ecological Landscapes too lengthy to illustrate in this limited forum.  We plan to file a formal complaint letter with the Better Business Bureau and the California Contractors State License Board.

My personal opinion of Sage Ecological Landscapes is very negative.  My personal experience is that the company has deceptive billing practices, overcharges for change orders - refusing to substantiate their invoices,  has poor communication, unprofessional business practices, and their overall craftsmanship and workmanship is very poor.  I would not recommend the company to anyone in San Luis Obispo or the Central Valley.

    Rebaza Landscaping Maintenance Services

Very professional. All workers were friendly, and very positive. Work was done very quickly and efficiently.

So far the drain has worked even better than expected. No more flooding, so the job was very well done.

They are fairly priced and do amazing work. Our yard and plants are always maintained n a professional manner. They were the least expensive for the front yard re-landscaping and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

They were very professional and we are pleased with the result.  The plan was one professionally, allowing easy approval, and it showed pictures of all the plants and objects.  They also provided a cost estimate to perform the work.  However, this cost estimate was 50% higher than what we received from our regular landscape contractor.

    Hiriarte's Gardening and Yard Work
This company's idea of cleaning your yard is to blow the debris into the neighbor's yard and then deny that they did it.  I have asked them directly to stop using their blower like that but, when they think I'm not looking, they just start doing it again.  The property owner lives in another city. This will be my third time having to call the owner to try and get Hiriarte to stop. The person who is paying them is ultimately responsible and, quite frankly, I am tired of being put in the position of having to make that call.  I would hate to have to take a neighbor to small claims court because of the actions of the company they hired.
We have no problems with other neighbor's gardeners.
