Drywall reviews in San Luis Obispo

    Dunn Construction
On every aspect of the job, we were more than satisfied. Casey's attention to quality and detail go beyond what you even hope for, let alone expect. He takes your plans as a starting point, and then makes suggestions on how to make them better. Not more expensive, just better. There are a lot of examples I could share, but he was constantly providing suggestions on how to improve upon what was on the design set...improved locations for data ports, providing more underground conduit to avoid overhead wires, locations of switches so they are most convenient for how you live, adding in-wall conduit so HDMI and other cables can be later fed through walls and not visible. He really brings focus to details. And the big things...he kept us on budget and on schedule. We are not rich by any means and he understood we were on a set budget. He kept us on track the whole time and delivered beautifully for us. We were out of the house for 4 months total...very impressive since it was brought down to the ground, and then rebuilt. On top of all that, his team is first rate. They were 100% professional, very friendly and made the experience manageable...even enjoyable. After almost a year later and there are zero signs of any issues...no cracks in drywall, doors and windows still work perfectly...plumbing and electrical all perfect. I figured we would see at least a few little flaws come through, but the quality is first rate. If you can get Casey and his team, get them. You won't be disappointed. Darren and Kerry Brown

Doug is very meticulous and thoughtful about the work he does. He gives very specific estimates for each job. Our house is kind of unusual and he has helped us solve some problems. He has fixed some things that were not done properly by other contractors. He keeps the work site very clean and takes pride in his work.

    MID-COAST PLASTERING

Tim receives an F for his outrageous and insane behavior during payment. After work was done I asked the worker if he wanted the check or would an invoice be sent. His worker replied "Tim takes care of that" and declined payment. Tim attempting to collect payment the next day, Tim dropped by our house, unfortunately I was not there as I was moving into our new house locally. Despite his handyman friend working on our fence and interior drywall, Tim must have assumed we were ducking out on payment, because he could not get a hold of us that day on his terms.   I spoke to Tim later that day and asked for an invoice and mailing address for $475.00, he emailed and texted the invoice. Despite in his email: "Once the job is complete, mail me the check."  The next day he apparently had not received instant payment so he opened his phone call with immediate threat to lean the house.  He was angry, yelling and accusatory. He consistently interrupted; I was amazed and shocked at his words and flash anger. This was completely opposite the pleasant introductions prior to the job.  The threat to lean the house transpired within 72 hours of completion of work. Local mail takes 2 to 3 days.  I?m empathetic with workers getting paid. So Tim, if you wanted payment that day, authorize your workers to take the check.  I cannot recommend this contractor.

Joe did a great job on several sections of interior drywall in the house and garage and redwood fence rebuild. Making the house ready to sell.  He was on time, professional and reasonably priced. After the initial estimate, I noticed some additional work on my walk throughs. He took these changes in stride, adjusted the price accordingly and I would hire Joe again! Thanks for all the hard work Joe.

They made the repairs while we were out of town for the weekend. They came in with ladders, used plastic draping to contain plaster from the ceiling and heavy paper to protect the floors during demo. After they pulled the remaining plaster off the ceiling they filled in with new drywall, taped, textured and sealed with primer over a two day period. The result was perfect! I wish all my walls looked as good as their finished work on the ceiling in this old house!
We didn't have to put up with the mess during the repair. When we returned Sunday evening the work was completed as promised, the area was clean and ready for paint!
Casey and crew are a pleasure to work with. They are trustworthy, competent and polite. Their work is exceptional and they go above and beyond to work with the client.

    Joe Young Construction
Joe is a general contractor who not only enjoys doing big remodels, but also smaller jobs that many other contractors will not do--my jobs fell in the latter group.
He was friendly, professional and honest. In addition, he was efficient and conscientious about my time and expenses. He worked around my work schedule, and was willing to come after I got home from work and on weekends.  He charged me for materials at his cost stating, ?If I give it to you at my cost, you can get nicer things for your home?, and he submitted copies of receipts with his bill. On the first visit he listened to the projects I needed completed, explained how he would do them, and the amount of time it would take to complete them.  When he arrived each time he stated what he planned to work on and the materials he would use. Joe was very good about explaining what he was doing, and why he was doing it a certain way. Joe is knowledgeable and skilled, as well as creative.
I also have some electrical projects, deck work, painting, and gutter work, and I look forward to having him do this work.

Chad was very responsive to our initial call and was able to come by quickly to give us an estimate. He and his crew arrived promptly every day. They did a great job keeping the job site as clean as possible and containing the debris. Each evening they left their equipment neatly organized and ready for the next day. We were amazed at how good the ceilings looked when they were completed - they did an excellent job! I would definitely recommend them!
