    Green Thumb - Elinas
At first work was satisfactory and we worked out a schedule but he would not show up, not leave any messages and not return our calls over several months. The last time he was supposed to show up but never did, and did not call us, we waited 2 months and hired another company. If he did want the job he should have told us.

    BIG WOOD TREE EXPERT CO
They did it all in about 3 hours and they did really well.  They showed up when they said they were going to and did the work that was requested of them.  The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of time that we had to schedule in advance because they are so busy, but that’s a good thing.

    Hansen Landscape Contractor
I can now use my back yard. All the concrete and rotten wood dividers are gone. A streamlined concrete slab with artistic concrete seams are framed by three shade trees and a balanced set of shrubs and flowers. A new redwood fence from a different company forms the backdrop. My ideas for my back yard were all wrong but Steve Hansen was the only contractor to respond promptly and he listened to everything I had to say first. The consultation fee was worth every dollar and the cost was deducted from the finished job. His standout trait is listening and communicating, making sure everything goes smoothly. The unknowns were handled smoothly, such as a slab edge three times too thick and a lot of concrete pillars and tree roots and gaps below the fence. My finished landscape looks professional and meticulously thought out by Steve. As the job progressed I could tell he and his crew have many years experience with concrete, tree and plant choice and placement, drainage, balance, design and symmetry.

    East Bay Stump Removal
Matthew did a great job. He arrived early, charged a very reasonable price (I got a much higher quote from another vendor), cleaned up (shredding wood is messy) and was very pleasant and easy to work with. The shredded stumps will make great mulch for my yard.
His grinding machine needs 36 inches clearance, which meant he had to remove the gate on my fence, but he replaced it when he was done. I appreciate vendors who will communicate via email, which he does.
I would hire Matthew again without hesitation.

    Amaya Landscaping
They are a Spanish speaking company and are great to work with. They have someone that can do English communication for them. It is $200 a month if I have them come every week. They are prompt and fairly professional. They are fast. They are in and out. The landscaping is usually top notch. Their pricing is fair. They are usually more punctual than I am.

    Jeff Blaney
Jeff is very professional.  He is very good at explaining what needs to be done and why.  He will work alongside you if needed, or you can trust him to handle it without supervision.  He has a very causal approach yet the results are very good.  He considers the total picture - what the tree needs and how it fits within the scheme of your yard and garden.
He is punctual, completes the job with care and speed, and is very neat, cleaning up as he goes.  I intend to use his service every year with my fruit trees to keep the produce coming!

    Ponderosa Tree Service
    .
The tree grew too big for the location and the electrical wires were passing through the middle of the tree limbs.  I made an appointment for a quote.  The rep was professional and did allow some negotiation.  We agreed on a price and set up a date for removal.  There was two acts to this.  First the cutting of the tree.  Then the grinding of the stump, the following day.   This also was a two priced transaction.  One for the tree, and one for the stump grind.
The operation was completed pretty quickly, as they had four guys working.  There was no unforeseen problems.  Then the next day, they were supposed to do the stump grind, but because of the location of the tree being near the gas line, PG & E had to come inspect and give an OK.  This delayed the stump procedure three days.  But Ponderosa handled everything.

    Tree Specialist
Francisco arrived on time. The work was done efficiently and completed ahead of schedule. The left the yard clean and collected all of the debris. I defiantly hire Tree Specialist and recommend them to my friends.

    PETE'S TREE WORLD
My Corkscrew Willow was a giant after only a dozen years. Though beautiful and beloved, the branches of this tree were cracking under their own weight, the growth was intertwining with power lines, and the tree was outgrowing its space and becoming a hazard. Pete and his crew took much of one day to carefully remove branches, then the trunk, then grind out the stump, and create mulch. Pete is very knowledgeable about tree care, and both he and his crew are highly efficient and professional. Pete has always consulted with me as to my opinion and gives his honest advice. I thoroughly trust his judgement and ability. I'll ask him this year to shape my fruit trees for 2013.
