    They were prompt, professional and very helpful.
    They treated the crawl space, trenched where ever possible around the house, and neatly drilled through the concrete where they couldn't trench (they replugged the drilled holes). They used Termidor which should kill off all the nests, colonies or whatever.
    The price includes a 3-year follow-up plan. They'll come out once a year to inspect and re-treat if needed. They'll also come out if we call with concerns.

    It turned out nice.  They came out the first time as I made the appointment and they came out again as a follow up.  We chose them because their products are organic.  I am glad that I went that way.  It was very good that the tech came back out again.  He was timely, he was very considerate, he was efficient and there were no problems.  He was very friendly and he was knowledgeable about what he was doing.  He is the same person that came out the next time; he called and informed what time he would be there, so it was just great.  The first time he came out, he let me know that he would be coming out again and that would be a follow up visit.  He encouraged me to call before the month was over so I did that and he just happened to be the person that came out.  He was just really great and he had a great personality.  I enjoyed working with him.  However, the ants are taking time to respond and because it is organic, it takes a little bit longer for the product to work, so the ants just didn’t cooperate.  I guess they just have a bad attitude but it is getting better!  The big deal was great and I was glad with the price.

    The technician was prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. He sprayed for ants inside and out. After the first day we never saw another ant again! What a joy no ants in the kitchen! I would highly recommend this company.

    Hydrex was a problem from the beginning. I had a detailed discussion to start services, I have 2 dogs and since they wanted to come during hte day I needed to be home so they could spray inside as well as for me to bring the dogs inside during the treatment time. I set it up for a day when I work from home. That worked about 2 times. I never got advanced notice of the service, but a couple of times I just so happened to either be home or have someone at my home when they dropped by. After the treatments, I wouldn't have any ant or spider problems for about 3 weeks but then subsequently still have to use a department store spray outside.
    I called the office several times (I kept all the notes with dates and times) and tried to get them on track. Each time I was told they would communicate only to have it happen again the next time.I finally decided to cancel the services, you have to commit to at least 1 year of service, I gave them about 2. The finally straw came when once again they showed up during a time when I was at work, I had a note left on my door with time in and time out - a total of 10 mins - and info that they sprayed the front of hte house only because my dogs were in the back yard. I was charged for a full service.
    I called and wrote letters to Hydrex with copies of the notice asking them to reduce the price to match the service. I got no return calls or written responses. What I did get were multiple invoices, late notices, threats to send to collections and collection calls in return. I left additional messages and wrote another lettter with copies of hte invoices. After several months I was finally able to talk to someone who at first said they would send someone out to "complete the service", I DECLINED. Finally, we agreed I would pay half, which was still more than I felt they deserved but I wanted it done and to be done with this company.

    We Care Pest Control
    The actual termite service is fine, as far as I know. The outward appearance of the drilled holes is fine. There was some damage to my property tangential to the actual termite service. It has been three months since the service. The serviceman, John, has not checked back to inquire about the damage.
    Here is what happened. My handyman was replacing washers on my bathroom faucet the day that the termite service was performed. The handyman turned off the water to the house when he went to the hardware store to pick up a part. While the handyman was gone, John arrived. He did not mention that he required water for his work. A while after the service got started, I heard a strange noise. It took me a few seconds to identify what had happened. John had turned the water to the house back on. He had not communicated with me at all before doing so. My bathroom was flooded; there was over an inch of standing water. Water had spurted everywhere, including into my open closet across from the bathroom.
    John expressed great remorse and took a few dabs with some towels before he and his helper went out to complete their work. It was the Friday before Christmas. I had taken a vacation day to finish some chores before the holidays. I spent most of the day cleaning up the mess that John caused. Among other things, I had to empty the bottom of my closet of dozens of pairs of shoes that were stacked on shelves. I did not know at the time that water had gotten into some bins that were on the floor between the bathroom and the closet. I noticed that damage when I smelled mold. Some favorite scarves and other accessories stored in those bins were destroyed. The others had to be laundered and pressed. I had to wash, fold, and re-store a linen closet full of towels and rugs that I used to clean up the water.
    I opened windows (in December) and ran a fan for hours each day for a week. I alternated with a space heater to raise the temperature to a tolerable level. The water saturated the subfloor. The foul smell of wet old wood lingered for six weeks. The smell left when I hung a ?natural de-humidifier? in the bathroom.
    I did not call the pest company to complain. I ?buried my head in the sand,? and I prayed that the water damage has not caused a permanent mold problem. My fingers are still crossed.
    This is as succinct of a synopsis of the problem that I can report, right now, to give you some idea of the horror of the experience with this service provider. Writing this has brought back some of the trauma. I should have passed on the lure of a $5 Starbucks card I will get for this review. The ?savings? that this deal promised was way more than spent on my lost time and the property damage. It
    turned out not to be such a great deal after all. I hope never to experience a termite problem on my property after all of this. Time will tell.
    I have not purchased another service on Angie?s List since this happened. I?m 0 for 3 on having a service experience that matches the high ratings reported on Angie?s List. I imagine that others, like me, are reluctant to tell the not-so-great stories. I suspect you know that. I hope some good comes of this.

    I've been struggling with what I thought were bug bites, and called this company on 12/19/11 to ask questions. Both John and Steve were incredibly helpful: patient while I explained my concerns and walking me through a brief visual inspection. When that--thankfully--proved negative, we scheduled an appointment for the next day(!), David arrived on time and was the consummate professional: friendly, reassuring, and able to explain his actions in layman's terms. He inspected the bedroom, living room, study, and attic. He then inspected outside for bird nests. No evidence of bug activity was found, and David left traps for me to monitor.

    The man who came was quite nice, and seemed somewhat embarrassed about his company's policy. The advertise a 1 yr guarantee, but it's really only 10 months. Big deal you might say, but for all of you that know fleas, it's a really big deal. Fleas come out mostly in Sep and Oct each year. A 1 yr guarantee gets you into the next flea season. A 10 month guarantee falls just short. In month 11 and 12, their so called guarantee drops to a pro-rated deal, i.e. you get a 8-16% discount. Not much of a guarantee. They say 1 year right on the side of their vehicles, and on their website too. Classic false advertising. I ended up buying flea powder and nematodes online, then applying both products myself. Saved a lot of money.

    The work was started promptly and at first fell into the time frame given.  We contacted the company to confirm the work was completed when it looked as if no one was working on the house anymore and the lead manager said the work was complete.  My husband and I inspected the property.  When we arrived we found paint cans in the  "green" garbage, rain drain not put back properly, garage door was in worse shape before the work was done, the hole in floor (wooden) wasn't filled properly with epoxy, window frame epoxy was slapped on and now has water damage.  So we emailed a list of the things that were wrong and the lead manager said that they weren't done.  We gave them another week and were still unhappy with the results.

    I think the most amazing thing was that I got service less than an hour after I called. I think it was partly lucky timing, but still....a lot of places wouldn't even pick up the phone that quickly. Craig, one of the owners, came to do the service and was friendly and professional. He pointed out where the colonies were, and made sure to ask if I had pets or children before putting the poison bait in the cracks. They have a 60 day guarantee against ants inside the house. (Trails, not just individual stragglers, which makes perfect sense to me.) They don't require a regular service like some of the bigger outfits do, but they offer a quarterly service that's very affordable. Craig asked if I wanted to wait and see if we needed it, but it's been an ongoing battle with the ants since we moved in so I told him to sign us up. Two thumbs up!

    The seller had gotten a pest report from Prime Exterminators before they put the house on the market. I got my own inspection done by another company, which showed similar findings but had a much higher estimate. I called Prime, and Patrick walked me through the estimate, explained what it made sense to have done now, what to wait and do inconjunction with another repair. (For instance, dry rot and termite damage to window frames, we could wait and have a window company do when we have the single-pane windows replaced within the next few years.) I also got thorough explanations of the chemicals involved, the process, everything. When I had to reschedule because our closing was delayed, it was no big deal. I was concerned about some of the instructions for prepping the house, and the fumigation sub-contractor sent a technician out to answer my questions. There was a hiccup / delay when PG&E failed to show up to shut off the gas before the fumigation, but I'm pretty sure that was more of a PG&E problem than with the company. Everything else went just fine.
