  • Our home just had its 31st birthday and like so many others of that age group, it always needs some R&R (that's Repair and Replacement).  It also requires a construction crew that knows how to handle the R&R tasks at hand.Every so often, you will find a contractor that not only makes the repairs and replacements but exceeds your expectations in every way.  Just such and event occurred here last week.  We had called for our customary 3 contractor bids and decided on "Patios By B & B" because they understood what we wanted and had great ideas to make it even better.  The Elite-Wood patio cover design we decided on is a simple and elegant aluminum lattice cover that is lighter but much more attractive and durable than the wood cover it replaced. We set a date with Jeff and one week later the build crew arrived on time and carefully demolished the old cover and built the headers and foundation for the lattice Elite-Wood patio cover.  At the end of the day, they did an immaculate clean up job and set everything up for finishing the build the next day.  Bright and early the next morning the team was onsite to set the lattice work in place and finish the building phase. When they were done, the paint crew came in and repaired, caulked, and painted every original wood area that needed restoration, and to insure the whole project looked brand new.  When they finished, the patio furniture was placed back right where we wanted and the patio was spotless. Our gratitude goes out to the building crew for a well executed, on time, meticulous and within our budget project.  Our thanks to Jeff Goldman, Paulino, Andy, Santos, Lazaro, Gonzalo and Mark.  In just two days time, we had a beautiful patio cover that we love and a feature that will surely add value to our home!Who could ask for anything more!?Regards,
    Nick and Madeline Di Napoli

  • To begin with they came out and we discussed what was to be done and how it was to be done.  Then they brought out the samples - hundreds and hundreds of different types of patterns for the canvas awning.  Plus the steel frame can be powder coated to really tie in the frame and the awning with the house.  Finally, you can choose from various valances if you want.  Then the crew actually welding the structure came out to make final measurements and calculations.  Once everything was ready, they came out (on time) and installed it all......and it looks wonderful.
My advice is to have a good idea of what you want - material, powder coat color, etc., before they come out, or you may not be able to make a decision.
Because of the size of my project - a 7' x 41' section connected to a 9' x 20' section the total process took about 3 months.  But given the size of the project and all the work involved, I found this to be quite reasonable.  A smaller project would very likely take far less time.

  • I used the Awning Company for fixed window drop
shades.  From the initial quote, home consultation, to installation, they
did a fantastic job and the shades look and operate great.  My wife and I
are glad we contacted them.  Great job, would recommend others to give
    them a call.  Thank you,

  • I really like Jeff. But, before I explain, I must admit that purchasing a patio cover is painful - just like purchasing a bed.  No consistency in the industry. Lots of "buzz" words causing confusion, with interesting sales tactics by the various companies.  I received 6 quotes - varying from as low as $3,000 to over $10,000.  How can there be such variability when my requirements were the same!?!?
Well, Jeff isn't like other reps. He is responsive. He educates while speaking to the level of the customer. He is a non-pressure sales person, and worked hard to make sure I received a proposal for something that meets my needs, but that also will last. He was incredibly responsive through email and phone. I highly recommend working with Jeff.
Regarding the job - the team did a professional job, showing up on time each day, and cleaning up at the end of each day.  The whole process took 4 days, with Jeff coming out to visit a couple of times during the install. They even ran out to purchase 2 new bricks to replace where the middle column was removed.
Side note - in order to save some money, my wife and I spent 2 weekends taking down the original rotten wooden patio cover. It was very therapeutic, but also a lot more work than I anticipated. Not recommended for the faint of heart - that's for sure!
I would definitely recommend working with Patios by B&B.

  • I met with a few contractors to replace my patio covers.  Patios by B&B was one of them.
After contacting B&B, I received a call from Jeff who went out of his way to arrange a time that worked with my schedule to discuss options (I am single and work long hours, so sometimes that is a challenge).  It was a bit more difficult arranging a time with the other companies but not unusually difficult.
Jeff was quite friendly and provided a reasonable estimate on site.  He followed up on our discussion with a written estimate via email with unprompted references, insurance evidence and other documents.
In another case, I met with the rep who also provided a reasonable estimate, though no references or evidence of insurance.  That was followed up days later with a telephone call trying to arrange additional time for someone else to come out to meet with me to provide a lower price.  I explained that I saw no need to meet with them again since they had seen the project, though the called didn't seem that familiar with it, but would be happy to receive a lower bid if they felt that was appropriate.  I never received a lower bid though I did receive another phone call a few days later from yet another person trying to close the deal.  I mention this experience to contrast it with B&B; Jeff was my single contact and he treated me like a customer and not a sale.
After narrowing down to two companies, Jeff at B&B reviewed my lowest bid and was able to match it.  It wasn't a large difference and I probably could have negotiated a little lower with another company, but the customer experience was quite good with B&B and they presented less questions in my mind regarding attention to quality and detail so I went with them.
Work commenced a week later and his crew did a great job, despite a couple of rain interruptions.  Any decisions that needed to be made were reviewed with me to determine the best solutions.  They even made a couple of alterations along the way to make sure I was really happy with the result.  Jeff came back to review the work and ensure I was happy.
It is one thing to provide a good product at a reasonable price.  But good (perhaps even acceptable) customer service and pride in quality and workmanship is unfortunately difficult to come by these days.  Patios by B&B, Jeff, and his crew displayed this at every step of the way to providing an excellent result which is why I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

  • We applied for architectural control approval and the contractor prepared the building permit.  Final approval to start construction took 6 weeks, but once it was started, Patio Warehouse completed the project and cleaned up the area to our complete satisfaction within their proposed schedule and price.  The Patio Warehouse crew repaired the deck by cleaning and filling all dry rotted wood. They then covered the top of the joists with metal caps to protect the wood from water and installed high grade outdoor flooring rather than just replacing the existing 1x4? wood flooring.  The installed patio cover is beautiful, and the upstairs deck is better than the original deck.

  • They came in and gave me the basic patio cover. However, when they came to install it,  they were not prepared with the footings. I had them in my garden which I provided so they would not stop the work. They wanted to charge me additional for the footings, but I thought the footings should be included. The patio cover looks great and the finish product was beautiful. The workman came in, removed it, and put it back in a day. They were efficient and in and out quickly. The price was comparable to others.

  • It went very well. He was the main contractor but he had sub contractors come in. They were all courteous and everyone showed up on time. All the permits were handled with no issue. I would recommend them. I saw them at the Anaheim Convention Center and they honored a 15% discounted estimate. They also financed the rest of the balance with 0 interest for three years after I paid $5000 down.

  • The project went very well and the result is great!  Brian is a very good builder.  He chose solid, perfect pieces of Douglas fir and was careful to carry out the plan as agreed upon in advance.  We appreciated it that he asked questions and made suggestions because we don't have a lot of experience in replacing patio covers.  Brian discussed details about his construction methods so that we would understand why and how he planned to work and he listened as we asked questions and gave our opinions. After the patio was actually constructed and beautifully so, he touched up every single smallest detail so that the entire patio cover actually shines now.  In the process, Brian was also careful with our many plants and with the yard and  house.  The result is lovely.  We are amazed by Brian's work methods, diligence and attention to details because these really matter!!
