The lock on our front door was jammed, we couldn't lock the door.  Tammy of Sanders Lock & Key was very friendly and helpful when I called around 3:00 explaining the problem. I also told her I didn't want to replace the 20 year old hardware and lock on the door (if possible), knowing most locksmiths would likely want to replace the expensive hardware.  We set up an appointment for the next day (Thursday) between 9:00 and 11:00 AM, Tammy was concerned we couldn't lock our front door and offered to send someone out sooner, I assured her the next day was fine.

8:30 Thursday morning Tammy called wanting to know if she could send someone out a little early, she was concerned the door didn't lock. She also told me the name of the employees who would be coming to my home, fifteen minutes later two lock men were at the house.  Eric and Lynn were friendly and courteous, they and their clothes were clean and well groomed.

After discussing the issue and inspection Eric took the lock apart for further assessment. He fiddle around with the lock's mechanism, they cleaned and lubricated it all then changed the screws inside the door that were the wrong size for the lock. After they reinstalled everything, they tested the lock inside and outside the house, with and without the key. The 20 year old lock worked as if  brand new!  After a few more minutes of lock talk, Eric told me it was mostly just a lube job, no charge.

The 'no charge' visit did not sway my review of this company or the three employees. I have used Sanders Lock & Key and also Sanders Towing a few times over the thirty years I have lived in the area, they have always been dependable and trustworthy. This recent transaction with Tammy, Eric and Lynn was excellent on all levels. I highly recommend Sanders Lock & Key in San Dimas.

    All City Locksmith
Very easy to deal with. He was able to switch lock sets for me due to the different brands that I had and so that all doors entering home can be keyed alike.  Also, had a stubborn front door lock where he replaced the screws due to the stripped head.

    Crecom Locksmith
I called Crecom after reading all the wonderful reviews on Angie's List.  I spoke to James and made an appointment for Monday.  He called me 30 minutes ahead on Monday and arrived right on time.  I explained what I needed done and James began to work.  James is very personable and professional.  He started with the lock on my security door and had that fixed in no time.  He looked at the gate, took some measurements and realized that he would need a different part to secure the gate.  James explained what he was thinking in terms of options for my gate.  The gate was so thick that the pin would not go all the way through.  He considered shaving down the wood and advised me that he might need to touch it up with some paint if that's the way we decided to go.  I told him that would be fine with me. He was very concerned with what the finished product would look like.  He said that he wanted it to look good and that his standards are high. He promised he would look for the part and get back to me. Sometimes when people say they will get back to you, you never hear from them again.  I had a feeling James was different just because of the professionalism he had shown.  I was right!  He called me later that evening and said he had found the part he needed and we made an appointment for the next evening.  James arrived again the following day right on time.  He explained what he was going to do and how it would look. He did not take long to install the new lock and it looks better than I imagined.  Its perfect for a backyard gate.  He showed me how to use it and made sure I understood.  If I ever need a locksmith again I will call James.  He's the best man for the job!

    Claremont Lock & Key
The technician was great it's unfortunate that I can't remember his name. There is a mismatch screw that was used in one of the locking mechanism and because of the extent of the damage to the thread he was not able to use his power tool to take this problematic screw.

He proceeded to unscrew manually and te amount of time he took in saving that locking mechanism is equivalent to time that he would have spent on doing the entire job with no problem.

He did not charge any additional fee for his work and provided me 1 additional key from what is agreed.

I know this review will be very beneficial to the company he works for but we also need to give more credit to the technician they send.

The person who took the appointment was very courteous and we were told that the technician would be here @ 9:00 a.m. We called at 9:30 and told that the tech would arrive soon. He actually arrived closer to 10:00 a.m. We were told that the service call would be $69, but were not quoted a price for the work. The tech was here for 10 minutes and we were charged the service fee plus $80. The reason we used this company was they had a good rating with Angie's list and were less expensive than another local locksmith. The tech was not very friendly and fixed the problem but we were very surprised when we were told the total cost of the service call and the cost of fixing the lock.
