    DM Building Inc
Danny took on our project, which was to build a home on an oddly-shaped, canyon side lot. We hired him as he had experience building on hillsides as well as with working with our architect. Ours was a very difficult project; from Coastal Commission to City approval, as well as with structural engineering. Danny had a plan for how to access and install our caissons into the hillside from day one. Not only that, his crew and sub-contractors showed up everyday, on-time for our year and a 1/2 building period. We communicated nearly every day via text or phone calls; Danny and his supervisor Scott were always VERY responsive. They were also open to alternate ideas in order to cut down construction costs. We've now been in our new home one year, and can honestly say that we are very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of our home. Moreover, the few small issues that we have had (garage door opener; low water pressure), Danny has continued to be responsive and to send his team back out to assist us over this past year. Overall, DM Building is an honest and earnest group of builders who only want the best for your project. I highly recommend DM Building, and would be happy to discuss their work further with anyone who is looking for a custom home builder or looking to embark on a large remodel project. Here are our pix from DM Building's website: [*** Link removed ***] and from our architect's site: [*** Link removed ***] Sincerely, -Susan Spencer

    Handyman Connection of Orange County
The balcony wall wood caps had been degraded due to termite damage and wood rot and as such water was leaking into the kitchenette below the balcony. I asked what replacement lumber we could use that would minimize future termite damage and wood rot. Jeff recommended a high quality redwood. I agree even though the lumber was more expensive. Jeff remove the degraded wall caps and did a thorough inspection to determine how for the termite and rood rot damaged extended into the wall structure. Fortunately, the majority of the damage was in the wall caps. Prior to installing the new caps, Jeff spayed the exposed wall structure lumber with Green's Clear Wood Preservative to prevent or minimize any future rot or termites damage. He then applied a significant amount of caulk followed by a layer of vinyl flashing placed on top of the exposed wall (to prevent water penetration) prior to installing the new wood caps which he had doubled primed and painted prior to installation. The job looked great.
Jeff Davis was excellent. He is an experienced craftsman that knows what he is doing. He was punctual, professional, answered all my questions and made good recommendations. I would highly recommend Jeff (Handyman Connection) to anyone.

Make sure you have things planned out with Pete before starting.  Communication is the key.
Have appliance cut sheets for Pete and contractor.  Double check your dimensions several times to make sure you have everything covered.
Pete's cabinets are better quality and cheaper  than Lowe's or Home Depot.
If I'd change anything it would be 3/4" plywood on counter tops.  Other than that all good.

Jeromie and his team did an excellent job on this project.  They were prompt and cleaned up at the end of each day.  Jeromie offered suggestions and ideas for tricky areas.  Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the work performed.  I would highly recommend Finishing Touches Carpentry.

    Hardwood Construction
Had problems schedules.  I started asking after Christmas on the 26th.  He said he can come the week of 1/19/15, but I didn't hear back from him to confirm. I would like for him to come and do the job.

    Hudson Construction
Nice guy but phoned from across the freeway when he was already an hour late. Then it still took him 30 minutes to get here after he phoned.
Utility door not installed correctly even with thorough instruction, so it had to be re-done. It was still not done correctly the second time, but in all fairness he did give me an hour credit of work to re-do.
He did manage to get the top deck handrail replaced but those were the only 2 items completed in the contracted time. As I evaluated the work completed, the necessary instruction, and supervision required I decided not to use them for any additional work.

They're good at what they do, and they're competitively priced. I always have to get two bids on everything, and they always win. They do good work, and they try to give you whatever it is that your looking for.

    Robert Sappo Construction
We found Robert, highly rated, on Angie?s List and were very impressed after interviewing him. We had also interviewed two other contractors and were not impressed with them. Robert arrived on time each day, prepared the site to protect our floors and adjoining rooms and cleaned up each day. He had a couple subcontractors who worked diligently all day and performed to a very high standard. Robert claims to be on the site each day and, in fact, was here for the entire first day and at the start and finish of the remaining 2 days. It is obvious that Robert Sappo is very skilled and very customer oriented.
