    For two years my home security system worked.  I paid my bill on time, automatically, by credit card.  $35 a month.  Then one day the system didn't work so I called to get it repaired.  No one answered.  I cancelled my credit card.  The card company tried to contact them, twice, with no response.  This started in June.  Come August they sent me a dunning letter.  I called to cancel the service.  They said I was under contract until 2018.  I would never have signed up for that long if they'd told me at the signing.  They didn't apologize or send out a repairman.  Today I got a bill for $274.  Even after I requested cancellation on the phone, and by email, in writing, as per their request on the phone.  I hope they feel good about cheating a senior citizen on dialysis for 10 hours a day.  I am doing my best to fight back.

    First you should understand that we learned about security the hard way with break in's and using the questionable services of ADT.
    I was recommended by a friend Gene whom is a longtime respected businessman to call Ted 951 232 9396. Gene described Ted as "honest as the day is long" so that meant a lot.
    Ted and his guy came over and did the whole system in our 12,000 square foot facility in a long day. High quality professional job. Very clean, using all the best materials. Were go glad to be away from ADT and lucky to have found Ted at ABA.

    They originally refused to cancel because they said I was under a three-year contract.  I knew our contract was long since expired.  When I asked for a copy of the contract, they sent my original contract, which as I said, was expired.  When I called back, they said I had requested to have some work done two years ago, which we paid for at the time the services were rendered.  Now they are claiming the service was performed at a discount, the cost of which was a renewal of the three-year contract.  I asked to see a copy of the signed contract indicating this, and they said it was a "verbal" contract.  I asked to hear the recording they allegedly have supporting this, but they refused to play it for me, saying I have to take them to court to hear it.  They want $450.34 to cancel the "contract". 


    This is nothing short of extortion!  They invented a non-existent contract and a fee just to make them go away.  They know the fee is less than going to court, so they figure you will pay it, with no proof whatsoever that you actually OWE it.  If they do this to every single customer who leaves, just imagine the fees they collect.


    As an aside, the woman I spoke to on the phone gave me a different amount, an higher amount, to cancel the service.  The letter they had sent indicated the $450.34 had to be paid by July 13, 2014, so she was trying to extort even MORE out of me.  When I asked her about that, she had no answer.  They are just making things up as they go along.


    They have 188 one star reviews on their Facebook page, and of the only two reviews on Yelp, both are one star reviews.


    Do not be held hostage!  Find a more ethical company who provides better service.

    Safe Home Security profided alarm service monitoring on a house that we sold in Oct 2012.
    In our move I no longer had the original paperwork from 15 years ago so the only access to them was the phone number on my credit card statement.  No one at that office could find me in their systerm so that I could cancel the service. I resorted to challenging the charges on my credit card and blocking this vendor from future charges.
    Safe Home Security continues to charge monthly service charges after you sell your house.  They will initiate collection action even if you provide a copy of the sale agreement proving you no longer own the home.  They will not cancel the month to month contract until you pay the current charges in full and will continue to add monthly charges to your account, report you to the credit bureaus, etc.
    Their customer service agents in the cancellation department were rude and insisted that I pay $335 of charges originating after I sold my home before they would cancel the contract even though the invoice had errors.  I finally go a reasonable person in the billing department to look at the invoice and she corrected the statement which resulted in a balance due of $135 (all charges accrued after the sale of the house.)  I had to pay this balance to get them to cancel the month to month contract and stop adding future monthly service charges.
    I will never do business with this company again and will tell anyone intalling an alarm to avoid Safe Home Security as the Monitoring Company.

    We not only signed up for a new service, but canceled the old one, with the help of our representative.  This was helpful.   After two years I posted a new review.  They have apparently changed their address.

    One I initially got it, it was good. It took a little bit longer than it should have for delivery. I called them to have more stuff delivered and it was almost 2 weeks later.
