Due to J's success with my first child, he now also tutors both of my other children for math enrichment and help when needed. One child is a rising senior and will be taking AP Calc next year and the other is a rising sophomore who had been taking honors geometry. J has a wonderful way with his students and presents the concepts in a clear and logical manner. J teaches his students how to think in a mathematical way and approach problems in a confident step by step manner. I believe that J has helped all my children become better math students and helped them succeed in school. J's lessons transcend across subjects and my daughter believes that J's approach helped her achieve a 5 on the AP Euro History exam. I highly recommend J and have been using him since 2014,

    Jak Stat Tutoring
They helped me with my SAT's and they are very affordable. They even have a "virtual program" where you can speak with a tutor who received a perfect on their SAT's and they will help tutor you at home on your computer. If I needed help with math, I would work with someone who had a perfect 800 in math and the same in English if I had an English question.

    Laura Silvestro Tutoring
Below letter from my daughter: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I’ve been working with Laura since 2014 and I am really glad that I have the opportunity to be her student and to achieve so fast most of my goals. She is a very professional teacher and nice person. I can say that, she absolutely covered my expectations for a tutor namely she listens carefully, asks perceptive questions, and quickly comprehends new or highly complex matters. The things that I like the most in her lessons are her desire and passion in teaching, the way that she makes you speak fluently and without fear. She has a lot of material to support her lessons and always choose the right ones in order to do the lessons available for the relevant level and more interesting and motivating. Laura is an open-minded person who is cordial and always willing to help. I highly recommend her to everyone who wants to improve their English Writing. Laura currently tutor my brother. ---- Angela

    Mr. Test Prep
Outstanding. When we asked numerous students/parents with whom they had worked on SAT prep and would recommend, the answer 'Michael Romano' kept coming back again and again. Our son tried one other organization and chose to continue with Michael for four reasons: 1. Excellent simulation of the testing environment and conditions, so on the actual test days one arrived cool, calm and collected (as possible). 2. All the work occurred in the sessions (so it didn't add to already crushing homework loads) 3. "One on one attention without one on one prices" as he put it (i.e., Michael's logistics and approach give everyone quality, individual time) 4. Great motivator: "He made me want to do well and please him too". I don't see the URL in this listing so am adding it here: It was a great experience and outcome.

    Learn Spanish With Ina
Cristina is a native Spanish speaker who is completely fluent in English as well. She is an excellent teacher. One of the things I most appreciated about my lessons was the focus on conversation, because I am a nurse, and beyond medical Spanish and textbook grammar, I just needed to be comfortable speaking to families in Spanish about daily life, to help them feel more at ease in the hospital environment. She is very good at adapting the lessons to what you want/need to learn, which for me was conversation. But we also spent plenty of time with workbooks and working on listening comprehension. Also, she always had a cup of hot tea ready for me, there is easy parking near her home, and she was flexible in working with my crazy shift schedule!

    Hank's Tutoring
AP Calculus is a course many high school students struggle with. It particularly gets very hard to cope with when the student has other AP classes to contend with. My daughter started off the year well, but soon found herself struggling to keep up with the material on her own. I knew she needed help. We talked to and tried many tutors - even online tutoring. Nothing really worked well for us. Online tutoring is just a cruel joke. You spend more time waiting than doing any hands on work. Typing back and forth is tedious, no voice facility - just text and the list goes on. In person tutoring can be a hit or miss too. We tried several tutors before we found Hank. None of them really had the ability to teach well. This is by far the most common problem I encountered. Knowing the material well is important (some tutors did not even know that!), but if your tutor can't keep the student engaged, you are just wasting money (and believe me, Calculus tutors are not cheap). Hank Irwin is just a wonderful teacher. He is full of energy, extremely passionate about the subject and can bring complex concepts to the level of a distracted Facebook teen, in a way that they not only understand, but are able to retain and apply much of what they learn long after they have understood them. My daughter has come a long long way in her understanding and comprehension of Calculus, all thanks to Mr Hank Irwin. He is a great teacher who can keep my daughter engaged and mentally alert for sessions that sometimes last two hours. Here's what I as a parent really like about him -  - Punctual: He has never been late, even once in the many months he has taught my daughter. I am not kidding! - Organized: Always comes to his session prepared. He is very cognizant of time and doesn't engage in frivolous chit-chat or waste time figuring out what to do or how to solve problems. Has a great bank of tests and questions that will help prepare students for AP exam and doing well in class. - Fair and Ethical: Never watches the clock for minutes or even tens of minutes overtime. Frequently continues the sessions till the objective has been met, for no extra charge. Even came to meet with my daughter's Math teacher when I scheduled a meeting to discuss her performance slump. Would not accept any payment for his time (over an hour and a half) even when I insisted to pay for his time. I am very impressed with Hank's professionalism, integrity and his commitment. He loves his subject and his tutoring work and it really does show. My daughter's grade went from a failing grade to a strong B, all with Hank's help. She is confident of pushing it into a B+ A- territory with her final exam coming up next week. My daughter wants to pursue a career in medicine, but loves Math and says she wants to minor in the subject in college. Thank you Mr. Irwin, but for you, my daughter would still dread the Calculus.

We have the fortunate benefit of having Allen as our son's tutor for the time being, as ours is a difficult case. He is creative, energetic and very resourceful; a rare individual who thinks outside of the box and does whatever it takes to get the job done. He has built a positive rapport with our son and is slowly empowering him to become a more self motivated and capable student. I would definitely recommend Allen and his group to anyone looking for a tutor and/or consultant for their child. The fee will vary slightly depending on location of the tutoring sessions. (i.e at home or at Stanford)

Jenny is more than a tutor, she has been a friend to my niece. Jenny is youthful and energetic, and was able to get through to my niece where previous tutors had failed. Jenny is a motivator, and she was always available and communicative with me and my sister (niece's mom). Since my sister hadn't gone to college, she wasn't aware of the challenges of the application process. With Jenny's help, my niece is off to Cal Poly, and we're all very thrilled.
