Counseling & Mental Health reviews in San Anselmo

Poorest excuse for a doc I have seen (tennis partner coincidentally had similar experience with her years ago). She is unnecessarily hurried (never saw another patient in her office even though she kept me waiting both times for over 40 minutes), not willing to listen to patient complaints/concerns, a real lack of simple neurological knowledge (familiarity with complex hemiplegic migraine variants). I could go on and on with other specifics.

He has a very good reputation, but his manner isn't the most pleasing. He specializes in bipolar, ADD, and ADHD. He is very good with medicines. He understands the drugs very well. He doesn't have to check the books all the time. He immediately knows what we should try next and what combinations of medicines we should use. When I would question him about things, he took offense, because he thought I was questioning his expertise. My son had a problem that resulted from having less medication and he blamed me for letting me talk him into lowering the medication. He speaks to me really meanly. When I told him we were finding another psychiatrist, he asked why, so he could do better next time and I told him all the problems I had with him. He is one of the few psychiatrists around that will treat bipolar. He wrote some medical prescriptions for me that were wrong.

I liked her very much the first time I saw her. She was kind and gentle and seemed very knowledgeable. I didn't hesitate to call her again when I had new symptoms. She had changed practices. It seemed that her personality had also undergone a significant change. No longer kind and gentle, she rushed around like the building was on fire. She had become imperious and condescending. She was always in too much of a hurry. She kept saying that she didn't really have time for "this". I felt that her diagnoses were also rushed and she didn't take the time to explain things to me. When I appeared with a new symptom, she raised her voice, wagged her finger, and accused me of doing things that I shouldn't be doing, which I had not. She didn't bother to ask what I had been doing. I was in severe pain at this point. Her attitude only contributed to my difficulties. On one appointment she told me that the swelling in my arm and hand was not a neurological problem. Two months later when I saw her for new symptoms in the same arm, she remembered the swelling from before (which was not there this time) and told me that it was from a neurological problem. In her reports to my internist, she reported findings for which she had not tested: she reported that I did not have the symptoms I claimed to have though she had not examined me for them. The visits were brief, hurried, superficial and abusive. I did not benefit from her care during this time.

When I first saw him, he was interviewing me while chomping on raw vegetables. He is a boor. Avoid him.
