    HARDEN RANCH VETERINARY HOSPITAL
It went very well. The groom included trimming my hairy dog's thick coat down to a quarter of an inch, bathing, nail trimming, cleaning of the eyes and the ears, and espressing the anal glands. Other places I've been to take most of the day, but this experience was less than 2.5 hours.

VCA All Pets Animal Hospital Salinas
This is such a nice office!  The staff in the front are so helpful and friendly.  All of my pets see Dr. Fling,  she's just wonderful.   When my animals have been really sick, the doctors will call after hours to check in.  They are the nicest vets I have ever dealt with.
I can't say enough good things.  Dr. Fling is very kind and patient, she always explains things.
If  you are looking for a vet, you have to try them.  You'll be so glad you did.

I have a very sweet, calm, large dog. I took him for grooming. When they were ready to have him picked up the groomer called me and said she had seenand quot;bloody dischargeand quot; on his p****. She told me she and quot;always checks the p****and quot;. I was further informed that she had the vet there check him and that I should watch for blood in the urine. My dog was not having any such problems before this appointment.
I took him to my regular vet. I told her about the and quot;bloody dischargeand quot; and she checked his p****. I got an anatomy lesson.... the p**** is not exposed in everyday use, like urination. In fact, to expose the p**** it takes some manipulation. She showed me a 2 inch long cut and quot;probably caused by clippersand quot;. I confirmed with her that this was not from peeing on a rose bush or something like that...... no. Usually the privates are not out, they are in their protective sheath.
Someone had taken time and energy to expose the p**** and the prepuce, and then scratched it. It bled enough for the groomer to go get the vet, Dr. Jeff Hogans, to look at it. I found out when I called the next day to speak with the office manager, Christy Maxwell, that the vet had checked my dog 2x, not just once. Is this because it bled too much? or my dog was in pain? I will never know, because they have nothing more to say about it. The office manager asked me to have my vet fax the visit note over, they did that.
Later in the day the office manager called to say that 'her groomer' did not hurt my dog 'on purpose'. She said that the groomer did all the right things by notifying the vet and calling me. She only called me to come get the dog not to notify me of any injury or get any permission for anything! Anyway, my dog was hurt unnecessarily in a very sensitive area. Whether or not it was and quot;on Purposeand quot; they should refund the cost of the grooming and my vet bill.
The groomer was very nice, my dog is fluffy and pretty. But they injured him! Someone hurt my pet. This shouldn't happen. And they are not taking any responsibility. Christy Maxwell just doesn't care.
In the past I have taken my pets here for veterinary care. I stopped that due to the negative attitude of the office staff in the vet office. I had a couple good experiences with the grooming side and with the K9 Motiv physical therapist, Becky. I hope I can still see Becky, even though I am writing a negative review. I have heard other people say that if you complain they won't let you come back.

    VETERINARY HOUSE CALLS
His manner was very taciturn, and his wife was friendly. His diagnosis of my dog's condition ended up being totally incorrect. He thought my dog was suffering from some sort allergies, probably to his food, and proceeded to recommend and sell us a large bag of and quot;specialand quot; dry food for about $50 and a flat of wet food in small cans made from duck meat...I do not recall the price now, but it was outlandish. I couldn't quite comprehend this sale and diagnosis, but he was firm. He then prescribed ten Valium pills...one milligram each...and some pain pills. Before he left, he suggested that my dog be seen by my regular vet!

We felt that the sale of about $100 worth of food was completely out of line and made for his own benefit. Allergies? Valium when the dog was nonresponsive in the first place? We were upset when he left because of the above and felt that we knew no more about what was ailing my dog than we did before his visit. Bottom line: my dogs gums were whitish which should have indicated something related to blood. Dog was seen the next day at a hospital and it was determined that he was bleeding internally, profusely, from a ruptured spleen. He had surgery right away and died within about a week. In hindsight, there was probably nothing this vet could have done to save my dog, but we were and still are very upset by the visit, the misdiagnosis, and what appeared to be a mercenary purpose for the call.

    Home Away From Home

Home Away from Home Doggy Day Care and Spa is AWESOME!!!  They have provided excellent service to us.  We started using them just about 6 weeks ago and they have helped us out tremendously.  We adopted the sweetest little Chihuahua from the SPCA in our area and were told that she was "Kennel/Crate trained".  We put her in a kennel when we went to bed at night but about a week in she began fighting the kennel and actually got her nose stuck in the bars in the middle of the night.  I of course had to go to work the next day and didn't know what to do with her.  I looked on Angie's list and found the Home Away from Home spa and called to find out if they could take my little girl.  I had to leave a message as I was calling before business hours, but as soon as they opened they returned my call and allowed me to bring my dog in on last minute notice, as long as I had her vaccination records (which I did).  Since that time we have been back on numerous occasions and our dog absolutely LOVES being at the spa!!!  She comes home happy as a little clam, thanks to Joel and John's great care!!  I highly recommend these guys for both day care and overnight kennel needs.  They are amazing and your pets will totally love them!!!!

We were new to the area and did not have a vet yet. We don't know what happened, but our cat needed attention RIGHT AWAY- unfortunately she died in my arms as we pulled up to the vet's door. They took her from me and tried to save her. When they couldn't, they brought her, my husband and me to a private room so we could all say good-bye. They let us take our time (and this was very late evening). This clinic has a very caring staff who took over for us even though we forgot to make sure we had our CareCredit card with us and let us call them with it at a better time. They took care of cremation services and even called to check on us a few days later. About a week later, we received a beautiful sympathy card that we still keep with her ashes. We went with a less expensive vet for our dogs, but we could not have asked for better care for this instance.

They actually come to your house and they're very, very, good. She's very professional and she has a pretty good sized van and it's air conditioned and she takes the cats out there and very comfortably cleans them and brushes them and cuts their hair. She's kind of cute and wears a black suit with a little cats paw on it and I think that's her logo. She's just very good with the animals.

I popped in with no appointment to see if Dr. Clark could squeeze in a full orthopedic exam thus fullfilling Embrace Pet Insurance so there would be no 6 month waiting period should something happen orthopedically. Upon arriving, they pulled his file and found he was due in 2 weeks for his annual exam and shots. After checking their schedule it was full, but said I could try waiting and within 10 minutes a new patient was a no-show and I took their place, seeing our usual vet Dr. Richard Clark. He throughly checks the dog over and his gait, call in the 2 vet techs to administer his shots and draw blood, which they did so good, the dog didn't even flinch (German Shepard). The results of the heartworm were given within a matter of minutes.
While we were waiting for the heartworm results, I spoke with him in general about his job. He said another vet spoke when he might think about retiring, he said and quot;why retire, this is not work... it's my passion. I adore what I do.and quot; That was so nice to hear. On that note, I asked about what he suggests to do if someone wanted to get into working as a vet tech. He knew I was speaking of myself, and offered that I can schedule a few days to come in observe and help on general duties to see if I like it. So sweet!
This vet hospital been around for over 20 years, and the staff, techs, vets are so sweet and makes you feel like family and rest assured your in good capable hands.

I've been seeing them for quite a while. They are knowledgeable and honest. Once my dog was really sick and she was having seizures. I could have done more and taken her to a specialist but the vet gave me some medicine to keep the seizures done. It got to the point where I couldn't do it anymore. My dog was 15 and that's old for a dog. The options they gave me were really good. The whole staff is very caring. I don't know any place that's cheaper.

    The House Call Vet
His name is Mel White and he brings his RV around to the house to do the dog's exams. It is really awesome because the dog is scared of the vet. She will jump right in the RV. It is kind of an amazing thing. The price was less than if we had gone into a vet's office so I was surprised. We called once because our dog needed immunizations before we went on vacation. We called and told him that we knew it was really late and he met us and gave the immunizations between visits so that we could have her boarded before our vacation. He met us in a parking lot on a Friday afternoon and it was really nice. He is really wonderful.
