Renewal by Andersen of Los Angeles
Very pleased with the product, a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for. Post installation adjustments were required; however, company was very attentive and committed to assuring customer satisfaction.

    California Construction Center
EZ started demolition immediately after being hired. Long story short, EZ passed all building inspections on the first attempt, completed the job ON-TIME, and didnt charge a penny over what he estimated. During this 7 weeks, my husband and I called EZ almost every day (morning and night - as late as 10:00 p.m. sometimes), and EZ picked up the phone 95% of the time, or else texted me back and returned my call within 5 to 10 minutes. My husband (the perfectionist) envisioned how he wanted the skylights to look (just like the velux catalog - 3 next to each other). After EZ framed the ceiling/roof, my husband said he didnt like the location. EZs response? OK, I want to make you happy - where do you want it? EZ changed the location, and afterwards my husband asked again to change the way it looked. EZs response? OK, what would make you happy? EZ changed it again. My husband changed it for a third time which required new beams, and EZs response was always OK, I can do that. I want to make you happy. I didnt like the size of the new window in the new bathroom, and EZs response, predictably was OK, I want to make you happy. After the framing for the new shower was constructed, it was smaller than I thought it would be (although it was built according to my plans) and asked if we could enlarge it. EZ responded No problem, if that will make you happy. We never got sick of hearing that response. EZ never charged us more for making these changes, and simply made these changes because he wanted to make sure we were happy with the construction. Now THATs what I want to hear from a contractor. Throughout the project, EZ accommodated us, whether we decided it didnt look great or if we saw an imperfection. We NEVER had to argue with him once. Again, he had one response: I want to make you happy and I will take care of it. We also met with EZs co-workers, Ozzie and Omer, and both had the exact same attitude: We can do that, we will make the change and we want to make you happy, without charging us more to make us happy. This made a very stressful time a little less stressful, knowing that the project would come out the way we wanted, and still staying within budget and meeting the deadline. The job is now complete, and we love our new home, especially the areas that were renovated by EZ. Again, the renovations came out even better than we hoped, and we have gotten a lot of compliments. My husband (who is never happy with anything) is actually very happy with the results. Even after the job has been completed, EZ is actually coming back to do one more thing for me, without charge, because I wanted crown molding around a pony wall in the bathroom. EZ never complains or argues, is completely professional, very responsive, absolutely accommodating and understanding, and he truly wants to make sure we are happy with his work. He seems to put customer service at the top of his priority list. It was a pleasure working with him, and I was simply compelled to write this review (which I dont usually do, especially not such a long one). My husband has already recommended EZ to his brother and to a friend (even though he never recommends anyone because he doesnt want to feel responsible if things go bad), and we plan on using EZ for any projects in the future. If you are going to hire a contractor, interview as many contractors as you like, but make sure you include EZ.

Each of our projects with Buscemi Construction went beautifully.  No complaints.  Thrilled with how each turned out.

Buscemi is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and honest.  I have used this company for 2 projects, would definitely use them again, and recommend Buscemi to friends and family.  Joe is a perfectionist; he sees every detail and hires the best.  His crews were always respectful of our home and family and very professional.  He details his jobs verbally and in writing and does not deviate from the plan unless you request it.  Buscemi makes the quality and satisfaction of each job his highest priority; easy to negotiate plans with, easy to get a hold of, and has a wonderful assistant, Nicole, who is a great asset to the company.

    Window Restoration And Repair
The appointment went extremely well.  I was upstairs and did not hear Scott ring the doorbell.  He could have left, but instead called my home number.  He arrived on time, was very professional and friendly, and was done in an hour.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone and will be calling them back to replace the rest of our screens.

    Jacoby Company, Inc.
My entire experience with this company went very smoothly. From the initial phone call, to the visit, to install all went stress free. It was so refreshing to see that Cory (wife and designer) and Bree (daughter in training) listened to our needs and came up with what would best fit our lifestyle and home without up selling us. Gary (installer and owner) was very pleasant to have in our home and was very conscientious and professional. What a wonderful family and so easy to conduct business with! Would definitely use their service in the future!

On 12/04/12, a 50% deposit down of $1500 was required to order. About 02/07/2013, the door was delivered to the store. On 02/21/2013, the owner, Steve and his co-worker installed the door.
The stucco had to be bullnosed into the door frame. We called another stucco contractor to repair the plaster inside and stucco outside. Unfortunately, this contractor sent another employee to repair. He pushed too much plaster behind the door frame which caused the door frame to bow. Steve and crew returned to put on the trim and saw that the door frame was not straight anymore. He was kind enough to come back and cut out the excess plaster behind the frame so the door would swing and close properly.

    Forst Construction
Mr. Forst is great.  I had an older wood window that needed to be repaired at my rental property.  The first company I called did specialize in wood window restoration but they said my job was too small.  I called another local window company who referred me to Bill because they were not able to do any repairs on older wood windows.  At first, I was a little skeptical of Bill's business because of the informal outgoing message on his home answering machine.  And I didn't want to send an unreputable person over to the rental because my tenant is stay at home mom of a small toddler.   He seemed to understand because he gave me his business license and told me to check him out on Angie's List too.  Everything checked out as he said it would.  He fixed the window, and he also did me a favor by doing some smaller repairs around the rental too.  He was honest about what he was willing to do and helpful about suggesting other places that could do what he did not.  And my tenant said that Bill was super nice to her son too.  Then I had Bill come over to my home to replace a door at the back of my garage and some other miscellaneous repairs.  He did a good job replacing the door, gave me advice about how to have the door painted so that it wouldn't warp like the old one did and he fixed a hard to open latch on my chain link gate.  I had two other contractors tell me that I would have to have concrete re-poured to fix a gap that had been created over time in the chain link fence post and that's why the latch was so difficult to open.  Mr. Bill took one look at it and said, I can fix that up for you in five minutes - and he did!  Very nice guy, very knowledgable and very reasonably priced too.  I agree with the other review that said he should get a cell phone.  But then again, I'm kind of thinking that it might take away from Mr. Bill's charm!

    Brigada Builders Inc
We did a full remodeling of our house, down to the studs. This was the first time we did any kind of work let alone a full blown remodeling. We were able to rely on Brigada's experience and advises. They did give us good advices to best use our money to do a quality job. They are a team of very good craftsmen. They do a refine job. my husband is all about practicality , i am all about esthetics. Brigada was great in dealing with both my husband and I to make sure we were both happy. they were able to execute a lot of custom design that the architect or myself designed, like custom fireplace (2) and ceiling beam corniches and column that came out sooo pretty (in master bedroom and master bathroom). They really have hands of gold. They also have a very good specialist to do tile work. . i am so obsessed with details and quality (i work in the fashion industry which explains it!) and he did an impeccable work; the bathrooms and the kitchen looks so beautiful. it was always the same team of workers working on our house; we got to know them and we really like them. they were so helpful and kind. if i couldnot visualize somethig they would make mock up for me to see and decide what was best. Really nice and helpful people which was a very important feel good factor as this is our home they were working on!
My husband and I, both work full time and are not very reachable during business hours. Brigada was very flexible and easy to communicate with. we could call them early in the morning or late at night. They would send me email or text pictures so i could visualize things they were asking me to make decision on; so i could give them answers quickly and not slow down the momentum. when i wasn't sure, i could count on their guidance. they have a very good taste level which was very helpful when i had to pick molding, paint color etc... and if it did not look right , they didn't opt for the "cheaper" way of doing thing but they really aspire to do a quality job.
Regarding schedule, they were on a mission to beat the due date. they started work as early as our city permits and worked until 6pm when necessary as well as every saturday. this was really great because we could meet them on the jobsite every saturday or after work. Brigada is a partnership of 2 contractors that make a great team; that was a great advantage as it was always at least one of them on the jobsite - every day. that was very important.
our house is in Palos Verdes Estates which has a very demanding city and art jury. Brigada was very good in dealing with both our city and art jury which relieved a lot of stress for us. now that we are back in the house and as we see details or touch up that needs to be done, we call them and they come and do it without us having to "chase" after them. really easy. They are great. we made a great choice to have them remodel our house.

Don Lewis has performed many handyman services for me at a rental home in Palos Verdes. Don is very easy to work with and can be trusted. He is honest and his prices are reasonable. On a couple of occasions that I was not satisfied with his work, he redid it for me. I will be using Don on a regular basis to assis with repairs required by the tenants.
