    We told the repair man and they came out and they pushed the power button and said, "its the motor" It cost me 79 dollars for a 1 minute diagnosis. They did not pull it from the wall, jiggle any wires, nothing. When I asked if they could at least remove the dryer so I could take a picture of the vent, because supposedly we have a weird venting system, the guy said they don't do that because they could hurt themselves. I am a 120 pound woman and moved the thing myself. What a joke. Would be nice if everyone could make $79 a minute.

    They were able to take care of my repair within a couple hours of my calling them, and arrived exactly at the time they said they'd be there. The problem was immediately identified, and repaired within a half hour! They know what they're doing, and they do it well.

    Terribly. Initially looked OK. They said there was a hose that needed to be replaced. They had to order it. They returned in two days but could not repair. They said that the part had changed and there was NO WAY to fix it. I asked if they could simply re order the correct part. They said that they had ordered the correct part, but that it had changed and no long fit. I mentioned that that seemed incomprehensible, maybe they could research the part further. They said it was impossible to fix. They did return my check, but wasted days of time and made a mess of my laundry area.

    South Bay Electric was on punctual, professional and reasonably priced. South Bay Electric replaced my old timer efficiently and effectively. What I feel makes South Bay Electric exceptional is when I first phoned, I was asked to describe the problem and, something which rarely happens, was told how to fix my problem free of charge over the phone. Unfortunately, the problem could not be repaired and a service call was needed. It turned out to be fortunate for me because I will continue to use South Bay Electric in the future. It was a pleasure working with them.

    Despite all of the great reviews regarding responsiveness, I received no response from the company.  Finally today I reached them by telephone and was told that I was too far away despite their service area including my area.  When asked for a refund of the $75 pre-paid on Angie's List, I was told that I will need to speak with Angie's List about it.  Very disappointing especially given the previous great reviews.

    Barry is honest, helpful, and very fair.  Each time I've called him he spent a long
    time on the phone and educated me about the poor quality of new machines and
    how to keep my 20+ year old Maytag washer and dryer working.  He didn't even charge me for his
    knowledge.  I have a lot of respect for
    him because he could have easily charged me a lot of money and I wouldn't have
    known the difference.  I will definitely
    call him the next time I need repair.

    I was so pleased with the service provided by EVERYONE at South Bay Appliance. My Thermador oven (only 3 years old) was showing that the probe was in use and would not let me turn on anything until the probe was removed. The problem occurred after a power surge and I could not fix it with any solutions found on the internet. First, the woman who answered the phone suggested some possible solutions - which I found AMAZING since it meant there would be no repair if it had worked! Since it did not, she scheduled the service call - no charge for them coming out - they call the night before to give you the 3 hour window and were very prompt in arriving. I was totally impressed with how hard the man tried several fixes (including contacting Thermador) before coming to the ultimate conclusion that I needed a new circuit board. Fearing the worst, I was pleasantly surprised at the price quoted, which was about $200 less than I expected. They ordered the part that same day and part was installed within the time period quoted with absolutely no hassle. I had also been having problems with my dishwasher not cleaning well, and when I mentioned this to the woman on the phone, she said she would make sure the serviceman had some products with him to help that - and he did - no major repair at all - just some excellent advice on products to use to increase the cleaning power. I have been using another appliance repair company for years, but was always so frustrated because I thought they were inordinately expensive -- so glad to find this company where you get your $$$ worth! An EXCELLENT company!

    I called in the morning and scheduled an appointment for the same day. Bruce showed up on time and he was quick to diagnose the problem. Within 30 minutes he replaced one of two possible broken parts. Unfortunately the more expensive part (the compressor) also needed to be replaced which I decided not to fix and instead to buy a new fridge. He did not charge for the part replacement, only for the initial estimate. Great service overall: Same-day service, punctual, knowledgeable and at a reasonably price. I definitely recommend him.

    He has been called to our house on several occasions, over several years. Bruce has always responded promtly, was very professional, did the work efficiently (when we had the work done), gave us an honest opinion when the repair was not recommended (the unit was too old and needed replacement, not repair), and charged an honest price for the work. I have been extremely satisfied every time I have called him for appliance repair work.

    He was a good guy to work with. We spoke over the phone and I described the problem. I appreciated that he gave me advice over the phone and he was able to take the model number. He told me it was not worth fixing and I would probably need a new dishwasher. He called within an hour of me leaving a message. He would be the first person I would call if I had another appliance issue. He still needs to get back with me on prices.
