Door Installation reviews in Rodeo

    Homeworx Construction & Plumbing
Supervisor arrived on time as scheduled.  He looked at the things I wanted done and said I needed specialists, e.g. a glass door company, a plumber, contractor, electrician, etc.  I never figured out exactly what they could do for me, that I couldn't pretty much do for myself. I still have like a $75 credit with the company and don't know how to use it.  They have never contacted me since then about anything, or to see how to help me and use up the hour of service that remains paid for.

Door sweep/weather stripping added to the front door appeared great. Upon use, I noted that the stripping was not tight against the door nearest the hinge side. Inspection uncovered that the two screws nearest the hinge side of the door were not actually screwed into the door at all.  I had to drill a pilot hole through the stripping and the door, find a screw that fit and attach the back end of the stripping myself.
The door sweep/weather stripping added to a door between the garage and the backyard had a very large gap to fill.  Herb showed me, after performing the installation, that he was not able to make a solid seal because of a dip in the grading of the concrete AND the over 1 inch gap there to start with. I ran down to Home Depot and bought a roll of sponge rubber weather strip (under $5) and sealed the gap with no issue. Took 2 minutes, actually less. He measured the door and gap before going for his supply run and should have purchased what was needed to complete the job. Once he saw his plan did not work, he should have gone back to buy what was required to finish it right. The additional stripping is sponge and rubber and will eventually need replacing, but that's fine. It's maintenance.
I tried the bathroom sink handle and it was tightened beautifully. I made the mistake of assuming the same for the sink faucet. After my discovery of the issue with the door sweep, I went to check all he had done, which is when I discovered the sink faucet had not been tightened at all.
Herb was easy to reach by telephone and came precisely on time, but given the quality of the 'finished' work, pretty unimpressive overall. I think there's no doubt he has the skill to have completed each job successfully, but for whatever reason, he did not.  I had to go behind each job and finish it properly.  I'm a bookkeeper not a handyman/woman, that's why my sink needed attention to begin with. What's the point of hiring a professional if I have to get on my hands and knees. That's what I wanted to avoid.  Price would have been fair had the jobs been actually finished.

    Trinity Overhead Garage Door
I normally don't like to give poor reviews, as I know business owners depend on reviews and recommendations to maintain income for their household, but in this case, I feel compelled to. At the end of our project, I felt Adam did not honor his word regarding a price reduction. Before I get to that, I'd like give my full review to be fair. I called Adam to provide a quote to install a garage door that I purchased from Lowes. Because the existing garage door was very old, he said he'd have to come out and see it before giving me a quote, since he and quot;didn't want to screw himselfand quot; by giving a lower quote than what the job entailed. OK, I probably would have preferred to hear, and quot;in order to provide you with an accurate assessmentand quot; but I didn't get caught up with wordsmithing since I had a door arriving that needed to be installed. I was delighted when Adam said he'd be by in less than 2 hours. He quoted $600 for tear down and removal of old door and installation of new door. When my husband called him 2 days before installation, he told Adam he was interested in cost savings and told him he would tear down and remove the old door himself. Adam told him it would only save him about $100, but we thought hey, $100 is $100. So my husband got up early and teared the old door down. The installers were timely and efficient; however, my husband did not realize we were still charged $600. When we called Adam to apologize for the oversight and request a refund of $100, he said he couldn't do it, and that $600 was the price regardless if we removed the door ourselves or not (even though the written quote said teardown and removal of old door, and installation of new one). After reminding him what he said to us over the phone, he still didn't agree to the refund. Since he wasn't agreeing to a refund, we asked for him to come back and pick-up the old garage door, which he said he wouldn't do either. My husband questioned his reasoning why we would be charged for tear down and removal if the company didn't do this work. Adam just said, its the same price no matter what. After going back and forth on this, Adam did agree to a $50 refund which we received 2 days later. Honestly, I'm not losing sleep over $50, but this was just bad business practice. True, we have an installed garage door - but I'm bothered that I trusted his video on his website, and at the end of the day, I feel duped.

    Hire My Husband LLC
I couldn't have asked for a more skilled or thoughtful professional than Mark.  We have needed these difficult and pesky repairs done for too long and he managed them all beautifully even going above and beyond to see that all was done as it was his own house.

He was prompt, easy to talk with and needed no supervision.  We could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish.

Mark seamlessly plugged some nail holes in our gutters, installed a deadbolt on a door as well as making completely sure the door closed well which required a few extra adjustments, repaired and re-installed a very difficult sliding screen door, re-screened a window, installed a ceiling vent cover and made beautiful adjustments to a failing fence gate even installing an extra piece of wood to keep the stress off the lock itself (... a beautiful and inventive solution) which will keep the gate working well (which it never has) for years to come.  He had to make a Home Depot run but still finished by the end of the day and was as pleasant after all that as he was at the start of the day.  We are both quite pleased.  Dawson dropped by to check in during the day which was very much appreciated and let us know we mattered, which is really rather nice!

    Interior Door Replacement Co
I am extremely pleased. Everyone I talked with -- Jenny, Jim (the owner) and Bryan (the installer) were pleasant and helpful. When I was unhappy with the and quot;shortieand quot; door handle, there was no question but that they would come back and fix the problem. They were much less expensive than either Home Depot or Lowe's.

I had intended to also replace my front door and door to my garage. Unfortunately I found that those doors -- particularly the door to the garage which has to be fire rated -- are quite expensive. They were helpful with the information I needed about those doors but I will probably need to check out comparable prices elsewhere before I go ahead.

    Interior Door Replacement Co
I previously had mirrored closet doors in the master bedroom of my rental unit. Unfortunately the mirrored closet doors cracked and I had to have them replaced and decided to go with 4 panel bifold wood doors. The opening of the closet is an unusual size and Home Depot could not accommodate a custom fit so I contacted Interior Door Replacement Company. They came out and took measurements and in a week I had my doors installed and a new tenant moved in. I am very pleased with the service, the installation and the product. I would definitely use Interior Door Replacement Company again.

The experience went very well. They had a great crew. They were very fast and professional. They came up with a solution to a problem that I had, by making the window much larger and nicer. I received some estimates that were higher.
