    California Window Fashions
I installed blinds throughout my home when I moved in eight years ago, and over the years one or two began to break or need small adjustments. Due to a busy life, and overall procrastination, I let things go. Finally made the decision to make some changes and fix what needed to be fixed. California Window Fashions were able to schedule me in to their full schedule and my blinds were able to be fixed and I ordered a new blind for my bathroom that was exactly what I wanted. The technician who came out to install was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even when something was not right, he was able to make the assessment that it needed to be redone the right way. When every blind was installed, it was done with efficient, professional and excellent service. Each time I call I get a response right away and there is a genuine focus on making sure I am a satisfied customer. I am always going to use them for all my window fashion needs and I recommend this company with great enthusiasm.

We followed thru on shutters in the living room and blinds in the master bedroom but because service was so sub-par and a warranty issue went not resolved, we chose to not do the rest of the home via BLIND CORNERS. PROS: Local Roseville/Rocklin Ownership Good Install CONS: Doesn't respond to emails or phone calls (3 times now for warranty) Pricey $$$ Warranty follow-up impossible Bad BBB rating Not sure why they remain in business. Customer service lacks. Severely. Seems they just are not interested in referrals or customer service. Much to my regret, avoid.

Blind Spot Blinds & Shutters Hunter Douglas
Repairs done as promised first time.  Quick turn-around.
Second visit just involved a simple fix and they made that happen same day.
Excellent!  A rare 5-STAR small business.

I called on March 15th to request an in home estimate for the installation on an interior screen shade on our back patio door. Mary Alice called me back promptly on March 16th to schedule an appointment.  John came to my home on Wednesday, March 20th at the scheduled time.  I had received a few other quotes, but his was slightly less and he said it should be installed in about 2 weeks.  I went ahead and paid the down payment and put it on order.  I had heard nothing from them until the installer called to schedule an appointment to install the shade on April 20th (4 weeks later).  Once the installer came (he was prompt and very nice), he noticed the valance was not correct so he was going to have to send it back.  He was unable to hang the shade without the valance, but he said it shouldn't take long to correct the problem.  I never did receive any phone calls from Blind Corners to apologize for the delay or to let me know what was going on or when I should expect the final installation.  I left several detailed messages for Mary Alice only to receive a voice mail from her that she was just returning my call.  I finally spoke with her on Friday, April 26th after threatening to cancel my order.  She told me the valance was on order and it should be arriving in the next four business days.  After a little more than a week and not hearing anything else from her, on May 7th, I  took my shade to Blind Corners and wanted a refund.  Mary Alice said she didn't know how to do that, but my valance was on order and should be in by the end of the week (1 week after she told me it would be there).  She was able to track the order and tell me exactly when it would be in and she went ahead and scheduled an appointment to get everything installed.  I'm not sure why it took me going to the store threatening to cancel my order for her to give me any answers as to what was going on.  The installer did come on time as promised and installed the shade.  I received no follow up from anyone asking if everything was installed correctly and if I was satisfied with the product.  They did however promptly deduct the remaining balance from my account.  In hindsight, I wish I would have paid a little more and gone with a company that has better communication and customer service skills.  What was supposed to take two weeks, turned into two months.  This company was great until they got my credit card number.  Then the communication stopped.

I purchased the handyman for four hours deal.  The owner called promptly to schedule the appointment.  He came to the house on time and did all the work I requested.  It looked very nice when he was done.  I would recommend his services, and use him again in the future.  He was very knowledgeable and made suggestions about additional things he could do that would help maintain my home.

The experience was excellent.  Chris did a better job analyzing our needs and making recommendations than the other vendors who bid on the job.  His bid was very competitive.  He showed up when he said he would, he installed the shutters quickly and professionally.  Chris was also very pleasant to work with.  If we ever need additional shutter work, we will use his services again.

I would definitely recommend Christian Construction.  Jim Christian is very professional and a perfectionist.  The quality of his work is outstanding.  He made sure everything was done right.  His team (Jarrett, Calvin, AJ) was easy to work with and fairly unobtrusive to have in the house.  They were all very polite and professional, did good work, and cleaned everything up at the end of each day. We have a small dog and the team was great about being mindful of that (i.e. keeping front door shut, etc.).  AJ did a beautiful job with our tile shower.  Jim's responsiveness runs hot and cold, but it never took more than a second phone call to get a response.  He was moving during the first part of our project and seemed a little scattered, but by the second half of the project that issue was resolved. After the project was completed, we had one small problem with the shower temperature.  We called Jim and he was there the next day to fix it.

Jim was also good about suggesting design elements when we were unsure, and recommending vendors that provided quality products within our price range.

Be sure to understand the allowances in your quote before you start shopping.  We found the allowances to be a little low, but Jim was great about clarifying what was in the quote so we could make an informed decision when we wanted to spend more on certain materials.

There were very minor communication difficulties with respect to determining who was responsible for picking up materials and dealing with vendors. Jim was easy to work with and willing to do what we asked but it sometimes took a couple of conversations to get things clarified

Billing:  I thought Jim's pricing was very fair.  However, I found his billing system a little hard to follow.  He was always willing to discuss the bills and clarify questions we had.  Also, when you do change orders, you may struggle to get an estimate, as he does change orders on time and materials.  If you're able to have a little faith, you'll find that you get a fair deal for the work performed.  I honestly don't feel like he ever took advantage of us.

Overall, we are very happy with the results. If you want your project done right at a reasonable cost, Christian Construction will deliver both.

He was great, he knew his stuff, but I do have one complaint about the owner's policy (not from the rep that came out) is that they charged an extra $50 on Saturday to come out and do a job. I find it offensive to a working woman.

I never received a response either through Angie's List or by phone from this vendor. I had to find a different vendor to have the work completed
