Roger Peverini, did a excellent job at my home, a complete kitchen remodel, it came out prefect, was very helpful, in picking out materials, grout colors and making it all look good, Was very professional, timely.     NOT GOOD! Steve has done work for me in the past & did good work, but it was tough to get him to finish always had some excuse. I ordered & paid for all the materials for this last job & he never showed. He's now bailed on me at least 3 times and hasn't returned my phone calls. Now his phone doesn't accept incoming calls. Really? In Jail? Who knows, but a total flake.

    Said his scheduler was not in office due to family emergency so he was doing scheduling and messed up our appointment. This happened twice. But he was a very nice and guy and was super apologetic and did the hallway for free because of the missed appointments. However, I have used Stanley Steemer for years and really no one seems to compare to their professionalism and thoroughness, in my opinion.

    Roger was very friendly and talkative, and perfectly willing to explain his thoughts about everything to me.  He came out to give me an estimate on some work a couple of weeks before he returned to do the work.  One of the things I wanted him to do during the estimate is to tell me what it would take to stop a couple of my ceiling fans from rattling at high speeds; he tested them and determined that they were actually pretty solid in their mounts (on short stems from the ceiling) and that the problem was most likely that the air conditioner was blowing on them.  Rather than doing a bunch of costly work - which would have been good for him - he suggested that I just turn the vents close to the fans around to direct air away from the fans.  I actually just got some old air deflectors out that I had from our previous home, but it hadn't even occurred to me to try this before.  Point being, Roger could have probably squeezed some money out of this situation but didn't, which I much appreciated.  I did note that he (admittedly) had some trouble hearing as I was pointing out a distinct rattle that one of the fans made during our discussion and he said he couldn't hear anything.
    I also noted during the estimates that Roger doesn't stretch carpets.  I should have seen that on his list of things he doesn't do before he even came out but I didn't.
    His estimates for everything else I asked about seemed reasonable - based on estimated time to do the work - so I booked him.  This included the installation of a ceiling fan, replacement of a couple of rotted fence posts, and the repair of some dry rot around our side door that goes from the garage to the outside.  I should stress that he was clear about this being an estimate, especially regarding the dry rot, as it was uncertain exactly what we'd find once we got in there to repair it.
    Roger showed up on time the day the work was to be performed.  He immediately set to work on our fence post repair, which included removing the rotted fence posts and replacing them (and of course dissembling and reassembling the attached fence sections).  He had spoken to some construction guys installing a pool across the street about their experience with the fence at my neighbors house and had based his estimates for fence work on what they told him about minimal concrete being used to anchor the posts.  We found that I apparently had much more conscientious fence installers than my neighbor as Roger spent almost 4 hours digging out and replacing the two fence posts.  They were in fact in columnar concrete footings about 3' high and 2' across rather than being minimally anchored.  For one of them Roger was able to pull the old post out of its hole in the concrete and pound the new post into its place, but the other required him to chip away a good portion of the concrete before the old post would come out.  Roger spent most of the 4 hours on this, eventually replacing the post and putting a bunch of new concrete in place where he had chipped the old concrete out.  He also replaced a bad board in one of the fence sections when putting it back together.  He didn't use all of the materials he'd brought for this work and since he'd figured them into my bill already he promised me he'd credit them back to my bill since he could return them.
    Next he tackled the dry rot around our garage door.  This turned out to be a better situation than we thought.  He had cautioned that if the door frame itself was rotted we might need a new pre-hung door, which would be bad for me since we had a dog door cut in the existing one.  But as it turned out there was minimal dry rot in the door frame; almost all of it was in some trim around the frame.  The bad news was that he didn't bring the right trim to repair the door frame; he had looked at it during his estimate but it wasn't quite right.  So a second repair visit would be needed after he picked up the right replacement trim.
    During his work on the door frame Roger mentioned to me that he was a locksmith too.  I asked him about fixing the door handle lock on the door he was already looking at for the frame and he took a look at it.  He concluded after awhile that it would be best to replace the lock since it was frozen up and offered me the ideas of either replacing the lock and keeping the existing handle mechanism, which was pretty weathered, or just getting a new handle and rekeying it to match our current keys.  Speaking of our current keys, during this process we discovered that the extra house keys I recently had cut at a large home improvement store didn't work in most of our doors, just our front door, because they were too poorly cut; Roger said he could cut us new ones for almost nothing and that since his cutting equipment was more precise the resulting keys would work in all of our locks.  I took him up on his offer and chose to have him replace the entire door handle with a rekeyed one, which he did on his subsequent visit.
    Then Roger installed our ceiling fan with light kit where a ceiling light was previously installed.  This was uneventful since the room was pre-wired for a fan and separate light control.
    Roger said he'd call me in a week or so to schedule the second visit, which I was keen to do because we were supposed to get rain and now I had painter's tape covering the place where he'd removed door trim and was unable to replace it.  He assured me that whatever got wet from rain would dry but I was still eager to get the work finished up.  I waited for about 10 days and finally called Roger after not hearing from him about the second appointment.  He was apologetic and said he'd gotten busy with some other work, but we scheduled the second appointment and he told me he'd found our door trim and was ready to do the work.
    The day of our second appointment came, and my wife met Roger as I had meetings at work that prevented me from working at home as I had done during his first visit.  Roger replaced our door handle, provided the extra keys as he said he would. and set to work on the garage side door trim.  He told my wife that unfortunately the trim he'd bought in fact didn't quite match the existing trim, which was a problem because he was replacing the top trim and one one side so the other side not only didn't match but didn't line up all that well with the remaining original side.  We asked him to replace the rest of the trim so it all matched, which he agreed to do.  However, he said he'd have to come back again to do that because he had some other work scheduled for later in the day.  As it turned out though he went ahead and finished the trim that same day; he did a nice job and even primed the replacement wood.
    Roger is very personable and willing to explain exactly what he's going do to.  He will tell you what he's found in the cases where it's unclear going in, like with our door frame and dry rot, and will give you options to choose from where they exist.  He seems honest and is a hard worker; I couldn't get him to take a lunch break on the first day he did work for us even though he worked from about 8:30 until about 4:30.  He is very good about cleaning up when he's done, and the quality of his work is excellent; he obviously takes pride in a job well done and he doesn't cut corners - at least unless he's told to by his client - to save a buck.  As I mentioned he also isn't out to squeeze his clients as he could have done with me on the rattling fans I asked about.  I liked him a lot and will use him again and recommend him to others.  My only complaint was the total cost of all this work - mostly the fence in the end - but that wasn't so much Roger charging too much as it was just an area where the unknown reared its head in the form of unexpected work to get one of the fence posts out.  And for what it's worth we got some good intel out of that experience regarding future work on the fence, and a recommendation from Roger that if future work on the fence was required it would likely be cheaper to hire a fence specialist to do it than Roger himself.  Roger's candor and honestly are really a plus, and coupled with his skill set he is someone that can do a wide variety of quality work for a reasonable - not necessarily cheap - price and leave you feeling good about it when it's complete.

    I've used C & J for several jobs and have been comfortable with their knowledge and professionalism.  When I found out they did bathroom remodeling I had them update my guest bathroom that is a focal point of my house, but has been an eyesore.  They were great to work with as I started wanting only installation and tile work done on the bathtub - but after seeing the beautiful tile job around the bathtub I wanted more, including new tile floors, new vanity and fixtures.  They were very accommodating and the bathroom looks fabulous!

    Designer Pam and Grant offered hours of help and encouragement in choosing flooring.  Pam's suggestions were right on target with my taste and current trends.  Grant taught me some things about flooring as well.  I checked out numerous samples from the store over a period of months.  Whenever I returned samples, they spared me the embarrassment of indecision and cheerfully offered me thoughtful help and fresh ideas.  I was extremely stressed over the unplanned project that happened due to a pipe break in our house.  Pam was a huge blessing, as was Grant.  They are super nice people.  I highly recommend them.

    Arrived on time (huge rainstorm) and were finished in several hours.  Very polite and very competent  installers.  Moved the appliances and then moved them back and reconnected the gas and water to refrigerator.  All in all it was a flawless experience.  Would defiantly hire again.

    It went on schedule until my back splash was not available from the factory. Kitchen Mart kept me informed and completed the job as soon as the tile came in. The work space was always left neat and clean. Good carpet protection with materials in and out. Questions were always answered quickly.
    There was close coordination between the various team members so the job went smoothly.

    Some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered!  If fact, I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but feel very compelled in this situation.  I had heard bad things about their price and customer service from neighbors and friends, but didn't think much of it until our experience.  We ordered wood from them after being told that we "had better hurry because it wasn't going to last".  It was a discontinued product, and we expected color and grain differences compared to our current floor (same product and manufacturer, but bought 6 years apart).  However, they did not tell us that the flooring would be completely milled differently (different mill completely and no resemblance to current product) and could not be used with our current floor.  They refused to exchange or take the product back.  It was a significant investment, and they gave us the run around for over a month.  They were rude, did not return calls, and had overall abhorent customer service.  I would never recommend this company, even to my worst enemy!  They are unprofessional and have no interest in the well-being of their customer.  I simply cannot understand when people don't have any consideration or desire to perform their job well.  I will do whatever I can to spread the word that this is a company not worth doing business with!

    ******Update as of 12/29/14******
    After I posted this review, Mark Simas himself came out to our home, took at look at the product, and remedied the situation himself.  He was professional and gracious, and replaced our wood with a product we were happy with.  As it turns out, the problem in customer service lied more with the manufacturer than with Simas, and they were waiting to see how Mannington would address the issue before they stepped in.  Once it was clear that Mannington was not going to help in any way (that is a separate issue), Simas stepped up and went above and beyond to make us happy.  Therefore, I have altered my review above to reflect how Simas ultimately addressed the situation to ensure we were happy customers.
