  • I had to go on a couple of occasions and go back several times. He is accommodating, but he convinced me to keep them. The straps were too loose and he was sure he could tighten them in such a way that they would work. But it didn't work real well. I had to keep going back and the shoes were never ready when he said they would be. He was dealing with some medical issues and was not in the shop as much as he needed to be. Possibly some of the problem is due to that, but I did make several trips back and things were not ready. When he finally got them one was okay and needed more work, but the other one was still not good and he had to redo it, so it was more money than I expected. I had to pay a second time for him to redo things. I finally got them, but they are not exactly what I would wear all the time. I haven't worn them yet -- we will see. I am not real pleased. I kind of  feel like I spent money on shoes I probably should have sent back in the first place. It was kind of a give and take experience. It was eventually done before I needed them to be.

  • He didn't charge me because he kept some things for about 4 months. I have been using that shoe repair for a long time. I used to like him and he had done satisfactory work for me in the past. In this particular case, what I have done was remove velcro from the catches of shoes, replace them with buckles because the velcro was running my stockings, and he did this, but in several cases, it took him a long time to find buckles, so he couldn't do the project for a long time. He had the shoes in his possession for months and months and months, and he finally came back and get it and in one case he put a gold buckle on a pair of shoes and it already had another sort of adjuster for the strap that was silver. So, I said, "Okay, no, this doesn't work. You have to go back and put the silver buckles all ahead". So, he did, and that one came out okay, but the other two shoes he did in one case, I've asked him to put a snap on it because it had a decorative emblem, so I was assuming he's going to put a snap under it, and keep the emblem, he did not. He changed it to a buckle and again when he took it off the strap, he didn't replace the stitches. So, you can tell that there are stitches missing. So, I actually went back and asked him to put the stitches in. He said, "No, no I glued it". And I said, "Yes, but you can still see the whole holes from the stitches". "Oh, okay". But, eventually, he just sound as like he didn't think it was me. So, I asked him for thread so that I could do the job myself. And, then I go with the shoes myself at home. I just didn't think it was very professional. I won't be going back. He felt sorry that I had waited for so long for the job, so I understand and that was very nice, but I would have paid because obviously it's worth something, but what I ended up was I was not pleased.

  • I have never been disappointed by either the quality of the work or the time to complete the repair.
