Arborscape Landscape Tree trimming and Design
The yard came out spectacular, to the point when I look at my back window, I feel like I'm looking at a resort. The Sod looks like carpet and was installed with precision. The water evenly overlaps from station to station with no dry spots.

Miscommunication. Lousy, pushy customer service. They say one thing, and then don't follow through. We prepaid $470 for one year to see if they could get our lawn looking better. I also have four camellias that I was told would be included in the service. After the first treatment, we were told that the camellias were included in the first treatment only, and we would have to pay their full

    J & J Landscaping

This is the third time I have used J & J Landscaping.

First time I asked Norma to take a look at my lawn because it was brown in several spots even though another contractor had installed a new sprinkler system.  Norma told me sprinklers were working fine but my start times and duration needed to be corrected.  She also told me I needed to apply fertilizer.  That was a no-charge visit.  I tried what Norma said and within days my entire lawn was greening up.

Next time I called was to get some help with trimming a sago palm and some bird of paradise.  She arrived with her crew who made short work of my overgrown tree and plants.  While she was there I spoke to her about my desire to have some kind of hardscape between my drive and walkway.  She said she could handle that.

This recent time, I wanted to have some turf removed and replaced with bricks.  Norma came by to take measurements and I asked if she could make use of the bricks I had on hand.  She took a look at them and indicated that the job would need more "used" brick.  I expected that.  Norma got back to me the next day with a very reasonable estimate which included all materials and labor.  I accepted and we agreed upon a start date.  Due to a change in her schedule, she asked if I was able to let the crew start the job several days sooner.  That worked for me so the job was completed a few days sooner, which was great for me.

Her crew is very hardworking, efficient, and form a great team.  There is no standing around or wasting time.  They work quickly and expertly. They show up on time, pick-up after themselves, are courteous.  Martin, the gentleman who did the brick work is really an artist and craftsman.  I needed some help with deciding on a pattern for the bricks.  He laid bricks out in several sample patterns which helped me visualize what the finished area would look like. Martin's design blended the bricks I had on hand with the new "used" bricks. He also suggested a decorous improvement to my walkway which really made an integrated design.

Norma is always available via phone and text and did not leave me hanging at any time in terms of getting back to me when I reached out to her.

The name of the gentleman is Angel Villanueva,  not the name listed with the company phone number.
When I asked for a bid, he came and looked at the yard and gave me a price.  He said the price included front & back cutting of grass, tree-hedge pruning, weeding and fertilizer.
He is young and disorganized.  He works hard and he tries hard.  For whatever reason, he can't seem to pull it together.
Our yard is going to take some extra $$ and work to get in order after putting it in his care the past 6 months.
I now have to pay to have the trees trimmed properly, flower beds weeded and hedges, bushes trimmed.
I wish I could attach pictures.  There are dead plants by the front door, I think he sprayed with weed killer.
Everything he was paid to do, I now have to pay someone to do over correctly.
Definitely a case of Pennywise and Pound Foolish on my part.
All the RED FLAGS were there to stop using his services.
I thought with a little patience and coaching ('cause of his youth) that I could get him to reliable.  I was wrong.
This guy is NOT a landscaper or a tree trimmer.
Can he cut & edge the grass...maybe a yes, only if you think he can't hurt anything.
    Anything else=NO.
For weekly service from December-March he failed to show up 5 times.  I lost count of how many times he rescheduled because he was too tired, sick etc...
To make up for the missed weeks, he provided service free of charge for April.  He missed one week there.  We finally stopped paying him at the beginning of the month (ahead of the work) and told him we would pay him at the end of the month since we were not getting the services we had payed for.
He is extremely punctual & reliable when it comes to billing and asking for $$$ upfront.
Pay him when you are satisfied with his work.
He started off with all the "extras" the yard needed so he could get it to where it is easily "maintained."
We gave him a beautifully landscaped yard to start with.  All he had to do was maintain it.
The extras took from December-February.  Tree trimming, mulch & SOD.
Angel knows absolutely nothing about tree trimming.  We could have hacked away at the trees ourselves the way he did.
Trimming trees is about thinning them throughout, not hacking away from the ground, which is what he and his help did.  Pulling out existing plants from the planter in their wake.  He actually left a very large, heavy, half sawn branch in our olive tree.  During the Santa Ana winds it fell down.  We were lucky it didn't kill someone.  Very dangerous.
He never completed the mulch, kept saying he would take care of it, he never did.
A week after the SOD install, one of his helpers cut the SOD too low (to the dirt) and it burned.
Angel offered to replace it, he never did.
Once we got past the extras, I waited to see how the "regular maintenance" was going to go.
I was beginning to think it was all about the "extras." but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Three weeks ago, he trimmed one of six rose bushes & left the rest unpruned.  They are all in a row, so it looks ridiculous.
Same with the citrus trees, he trimmed one and left three untouched.  He stated he would get them the next week.  The next week came, he didn't complete the pruning as promised.  He said he would come mid-week to complete, he never came.
There are weeds one foot high in the flower beds that he walks past week after week.
When I complained about this, he sent a text stating he was raising his fee 41%.
I declined stating if he wasn't reliable at his current price, we doubted a 41% raise would change that.
This has been a very frustrating experience for us.
We gave him every chance to be successful.  We tolerated more than we should have, thinking he would pull it together.

    Cleanline Landscaping
Larry Bounds, owner of CLEAN LINE LANDSCAPING,is a licensed concrete contractor and landscaping contractor.Larry originally came in to tear out my pool deck and replace it with a new deck.My 26 yr. old pool was being re-plastered & re-tiled by another Company.Larry tore out the old deck and poured a new deck and was a perfect finish on the deck.Being an ex masonry& concrete contractor,I was pleased with the excellent work.  Larry also completely renovated my entire backyard, which surrounded the pool. They roto-tilled and installed soil amendments and installed 2300 sq.ft. of tall fescue sod.New sprinkler lines, sprinklers, and valves were also installed. 3 trees had landscape masonry blocks put around them.
Concrete mowing strips  were also installed.
One month later , Larry came back and completely re-did our front yard. They removed the terrible looking front yard, which was a mixture of 3 different grasses. They also removed our large front slope ice plant that looked terrible.Larry installed a completely new sprinkler and drip system for the new 1100 sq.ft. of tall fescue sod he installed. They also poured a concrete mowing edge and  65 sq.ft. of new sidewalk. The front slope was planted with various flowers, bushes, and grasses. This front yard job far exceeded our expectations.
Larry plans the work and explains everything to you.He listens to your ideas and concerns and incorporates them into to the final plans.I made several slight changes and they were included in the finished project.Larry's workers cleaned up the jobsite every day and were punctual everyday.Every thing was done in a professional  and timely manner.I can't believe how fast the jobs were completed. The prices were very fair and competitive. We were extremely happy with the entire job, both front and back.
I would highly recommend CLEAN LINE LANDSCAPING for their excellent  workmanship, professionalism, and creativity.

They provide good customer service and call me up to let me know before they come out.  They use the different access to get to my backyard and are very friendly.  They perform a good job and I am definitely satisfied with what they do since they have provided me with very good service.  They are very customer oriented and their pricing is reasonable.  I can always call them to come back out if I have a specific problem and they will come back out.

We used them every 4 to 6 weeks for about three years. At first our lawn had stuff growing in it and after using them we had one of the best lawns on the street. I thought they did a great job. If they needed to do two treatments in one month they would let me know in advance. I never had to call them, they would just come every 4 to 6 weeks. They were always there on the day they said they would be.

They back out because the owner said he needed credit courses for what I needed done. He actually teaches landscaping so it got in the way of my job. His knowledge was outstanding but he didn't come through.

Our yard looks good.  They have really got our yard in shape.  They call me the day before to let me know that they would be there to make sure that I keep the dogs inside and that the gates are locked.  They leave a report on the door with what they have put on and what I need to do.  They are very thorough.  I like them.
