  • After my father passed unexpectedly I hired Odekirk's to do an estate sale to help with the overwhelming task of clearing out my father's house. My rating is based on my experience working with Tony from Odekirk's. I did not have any issues with the process leading up to or during the sale. It was after the sale that I began to feel as though I was no longer important to him as a customer. My phone calls were not being answered. Each time I called I received a voice message and left messages. I was lucky if I received a call back or text message in response to my many voicemails. The contract is a joke. I received the check from the sale late (not within the 10 days as stated in the contract) and only after calling to leave messages asking for it. I was lied to on numerous occasions and have the witnesses and texts/messages to prove it. Tony accused me of taking an item which he claimed to have sold to his "clean up crew" even though his clean up crew told me they didn't want it and told me that I should keep it. I am only just this evening, on August 10th, receiving items that I have been asking for since the sale ended on July 13th. I specified in the contract that I wished to keep two tables. I was informed on July 26th that "the guy" that took the tables is on vacation. On August 8th, I was told that "the guy" is still on vacation and that I may be getting comparable tables in place of my original tables. I have had to play the waiting game all day today as I was originally told by Tony that he'd be dropping off my items in the "late morning," when he didn't show I contacted him to learn the time had changed to "4:00pm or 5:00pm." I received a text at 3:00pm stating that he "may be later - early evening" and that he'd keep me posted. I waited until after 7:00pm, without any updates. Once again, I called and left a message and text Tony letting him know that he will need to drop off the items at another address because I had another engagement. When I did receive a call back from Tony I attempted to voice my concerns about the poor customer service and lack of communication and professionalism I have experienced thus far. This conversation quickly got out of hand with cursing on both ends and resulted in Tony telling me I'm being "f***ing ridiculous" and hanging up on me. Tony and Paul finally showed up at the address I provided to Tony around 8:00pm. And the tables I received this evening were a far cry from comparable. I have never been so appalled and shocked by the way Odekirk's is run as a business and how they treat their customers. The part that bothers me is that all of my negative experiences could have been easily avoided had they adhered to their own contract and returned my items and phone calls in a timely manner. I am writing this in hopes of saving any of you that may be considering hiring Odekirk's from the stress and headache that I've had to deal with for over a month now (especially at a time of loss).
