  • He could not tell what it was. I showed him a fan that was not operating. He suspected another fan that was internal was the problem. (even though I can hear it working) He said he would price it out and get back to me. He charged me a service fee. Took over a week to hear back from him. He said it would be around $900 to repair the main fan. I asked him about the smaller fan that I showed him. He said that fan is not needed. I asked what he would charge for the small fan. He said implied that he would not replace it.

JVAS agreed to come out the same morning and take a look at it. Ultimately the problem took care of it self and the only real work performed was an inspection, but I appreciated the responsiveness to my urgent need.

  • My AC was not cooling. The tech verified the cause of the problem, diagnosed the whole system & identified the cause. He gave me a choice of how we are going to proceed with the repair should I want him to do it. He replaced the failing capacitor & my AC worked. He ran another diagnostics to verify the whole system is working. before wrapping things up. Excellent job.

  • This is our first time using Jurupa Valley Service. We were referred by another provider with whom we have a long term (but not recently satisfactory) relationship, but, in this instance, couldn't perform the service before Saturday, when I called Thursday morning. You can't have an inoperative refrigerator/freezer, so I was pleased the other provider offered a referral, which saved me the effort of finding someone on short notice. I called Larry shortly after 8, and he said he was working on the day's schedule and didn't know what time he would get to me, but guaranteed that he would be out today. He said that he would call to let me know what time he could come, but if I hadn't heard from him by noon, I should give him a call. My only niggle is that he didn't call before noon, or tell me when he was coming, but I can't be too critical, because when I did call at noon, he said he was on his way and would be there in ten to fifteen minutes. There was a minor issue when he misheard my address on the original call, so he was a bit later when I gave him the correct number. And he did arrive in less than 20 minutes from the call, so I'm not downgrading him for anything. After fixing the fridge/freezer, I asked him to take a look at my dishwasher, which has a problem with the catch on the door not closing, or coming open during a cycle. He told me initially that it would be an additional $49 to look at the second appliance, which I approved. He figured out that it was the hinges which caused the problem, and told me that it was an approximately $200 repair. I decided to wait on that repair, because I can usually get the latch to close if I play with it a bit. When he was writing up the bill, he didn't charge me the $49 for looking at the dishwasher. That's a very nice way to run a business. I couldn't be more pleased. I will continue to use Jurupa Valley, and am pleased I now have someone who is reliable and good at what he does. I'm glad I don't have to go back to the other provider anymore.

  • My 17 year old Kenmore washing machine needed to be repaired (this is first repair).  Spin cycles stopped working. I called UR Service on 8/13/2015.  I was given an appointment for the next day with a window between 9 am to 11 am.  Technician arrived within that time frame. He was very professional. He explained what was wrong and showed me what was broken. He was able to repair the machine. He was very informative. I felt he went above and beyond for this job.  I was very relieved that he could fix it and I was happy with the cost since I was expecting for him to tell me "not worth fixing"!  I do not want to replace my washer and dryer.  My dryer has not needed any repairs yet, however, when it does I will call UR Service.

  • I had a problem where my freezer was working fine, but my refrigerator wouldn?t get cold. A technician came out the same day and ran some diagnostic tests. After a few minutes, he told me that the defrost thermostat is defective and needs to be replaced. He gave me the cost of the repair and replaced the malfunctioning part for a new one. He even cleaned the ice on coils at the back of the freezer for free. I?m satisfied with the fast service.

  • Signed up with these guys and paid them the subscription fee.  One month later my hot water heater stopped working.  They sent their plumber ( had to pay him 60.00) who  just inspected the heater and sent a report to AHS.  Got a letter from AHS stating that the plumber determined that this was an existing problem and they will not cover it.  (how the heck would the plumber know this?????) If I wanted a second opinion, they would send another plumber and i can get a second opinion for 60.00.  I asked them if I could choose my own plumber..they declined.HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE...THEY SEND THEIR OWN APPROVED TECHNICIANS WHO ARE REWARDED FOR FINDING ANY EXCUSE NOT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE......RESULTING IN ZERO COST FOR THEM.  If its a minor repair, sure they will fix it...but remember, you are paying them the 60.00..again, no cost to AHS.  IT IS MY OPINION THAT AHS WILL FIND ANY EXCUSE NOT TO REPLACE YOUR DEFECTIVE APPLIANCE..COSTS TOO MUCH MONEY.   STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHYSTERS.

  • I was very impressed by his professionalism.  I had bought a stove on Craigslist that had been converted from natural gas to propane.  I needed to have it converted back again, which, as it turns out, isn't so simple.  I had to order all new burners, so I had everything ready to go for Larry to begin the work.  He had to pretty much dismantle the whole stovetop to replace the burners.  This was not a DIY project.  I would definitely  hire him again.
