  • Above and beyond! They came only to clean ducts, yet I am grateful beyond words that they caught and fixed a leak I was unaware of in the AC unit due to condensation and plugged drainage, which would have otherwise caused serious water damage. The duct cleaning was excellent. Clean up was spotless. I mean, they pay attention to detail: everyone put booties on when in the house, and off when outside. The guy crawled up and behind the AC unit (a very tight squeeze) and even cleaned BEHIND the unit! Amazing. He taught me how to maintain the unit, replace the filters, and light the pilot. I could not ask for more professional work. Also, everyone, including the amazing helper duo, had a great attitude and sense of humor -- all of which made my day enjoyable.

  • The service went well. There were two technicians. Both worked REALLY hard! They knew what they were doing and worked quickly and thoroughly. Both men were skilled and kept me informed with the problems they found (I unknowingly created problems) and fixed. They showed me what they were doing and how they fixed things up for me. The service took longer than I expected, but that was because I did not know what the service entailed. They were young men and quite friendly. I think I got in their way, but they never acted like it bothered them. I am just curious. They left a new kind of washable filter for my vents that I can now use in the future. James even repaired my dryer flex gas line and aluminum ducting that were twisted and bent. When they were done, they showed me the vacuum's accumulated debris from my ducts and explained what it meant. Overall, I am very pleased and would rehire this service provider without hesitation.

  • We started with an HPF energy audit, using an Angie's List coupon. There was a bit of confusion about the price of the audit, but they were flexible and honored their offer, and did a full day-long audit on our 3800sf house for the agreed on fee. Their report was detailed and covered a number of options, with price estimates/offers for the various parts. Ceiling insulation, for example, turned out to be substandard -- but the upgrade price was substantial, and no rebates applied.
    After reviewing the report, two upgrades made crystal clear sense: some modest intake duct revisions to improve air flow to our furnaces, and a solar generating system. We asked them to bid on both; for the solar, we also contacted two other high-rated Angie's List suppliers. Of the other two, one was way too complicated to deal with and carried lots of marketing pressure and hype, so we let them go. The second was very professional and fast, but came in about $5000 higher than HPM. HPM came with an estimate that was the lowest to start with, and Jonathan patiently went through a number of possible revisions to find the economic as well as energy sweet spot. We ended up with a 24-panel 7200W system for about $28000 before tax credit and the very generous Riverside PU rebate.
    Once we had signed, the design process was smooth, although permits took a long time to finalize -- some revisions were needed, and the holidays got in the way, but HPM was persistent and professional throughout. Finally, with everything in place, installation took place in late January. (Jonathan even volunteered to deliver the panels before 12/31 if that would allow us to take the tax credit for 2014, not 2015, but our accountant said it wouldn't work). The installation took two days, and the crew was careful, professional, and clean. One bit of the installation was sub-standard -- the routing of conduit across our roof -- but HPM's senior manager, Dan, was again responsive and helpful, and a crew came back a few days later to reroute without hesitation.
    Because RPU is eager to add to its capacity, turn on came almost immediately (apparently it can take 2 months with SCE). We w still owed a little for February, but for March, our electric bill is a credit. That sure feels nice, though of course we'll have to pay something in cooling season, as we didn't go for the maximum possible system. 
    All in all, I found HPM easy to deal with, no hard sell, open minded and flexible, and professional in their execution. The company is new, entrepreneurial, and most run by pretty young folks. They were a pleasure to deal with.

  • for the most part very well.  however, after checking, the front lower panel of my dryer (which had been off because i was checking to see if i needed service before i called) was left detached and not put in place.  the "fireproof" vent ducting is just a duct that is a little stronger than the aluminum one that was there, but as i don't know its metal composition, i cannot say if it is any different that the one there before other than it is  a little sturdier.
    the provider was responsive to my questions.  i had thought i was given  specific time and called when they did not arrive.  they were professional and explained about the time frame but still made it there close to the time i thought i had scheduled.  because of this, i would call them again.

    UPDATE: ALL OF A SUDDEN MY DRYER STOPPED WORKING. WHEN WE TOOK IT APART, BIG HARD CLUMPS OF LINT.  NOT HAPPY.  WAS JUST CLEANED END OF FEBRUARY.  I ALWAYS CLEAN THE LINT FILTER FAITHFULLY SO IT IS NOT A RECENT BUILDUP.  WON'T BE USING AGAIN.

  • We met with Eric a few times to go over what we would need for our house and helped us make our final choices.  Because our heater quit they installed a new heater.  A few months later we had them remove and replace the ducting and then install the air conditioner.  They were great to work with.  Always came on time, kept things as neat as possible and were polite and professional.  Our utility bills reflect the better efficiency the upgraded system and we purchase a maintenance plan to keep the system running efficiently.  They are very thorough and professional and I recommend them highly.

  • THE PRIDE OF LOS ANGELES SHOULD BE MADE THE MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES.....They will clean up the city, repair the infrastructure, and provide stupendous service to the residents...........Fantastic company...made an appointment for them to come and clean my ductwork.  A crew of two came on time, they were very professional, removed all the vents, inspected them and cleaned them with a roto brush.  We had mold in one of the ducts, no problem with that.  One other company that we had talked to refused to touch it but these guys had no problem with it.  They placed blankets all over the condo so that the dust will not fall on the carpet, the cleaned and washed the vents and were polite and knew what they were doing.  Kudos to Jamie and his helper.  Highly recommend this company.  Best of all, we got a 10% discount for being members of Angies List.

  • Provider did and excellent job.  Was on time, cleaned all ducts, cleaned filters and air purifiers, walked me through how to do myself to maintain on a timely basis.  Walked me through how to remove, clean, and re-install filers.  Did a great job cleaning out all the ductwork throughout the house.  It had not been done in years.  Excellent service.

  • Beware of this company - they are a call center that subs out the work to other contractors.  We hired them to do a remodel, starting in the bathroom.  We interviewed multiple companies and liked the 'contractor' that came to our home that was from All Stars Remodeling.  Roi Edery claimed he was a contractor when we met him, he promised that his 'crew' was employed by the company he worked for and that they were so sure of their work that they offered a 'late fee' of $350 a day for each day they went beyond their promised finish date.
    We started on January 6th 2014 and are still not finished. 
    1) Framing was done incorrectly and had to be redone. 
    2) The Mr. Steam unit we wanted in our new shower was installed in the wrong location within the shower and had to be moved.  We (the owners) had to read the directions to find out that it was wrong and after a phone call to Mr. Steam regarding the placement of the steam head the 'contractor' had the plumbers come back out to fix it. 
    3) The toilet room flooring was so unleveled that the tile actually cracked a few days after install.  
    4) The electrical that was run (gfi) wasn't run on it's own breaker in the panel - it was mixed in with 4 other breakers.
    5) Lien waiver releases are yet to be received after multiple attempts to receive them.
    6) Vanity installers didn't speak any English and there wasn't a translator available to explain what needed to be done.  As a result the faucets sit too far back on the sink which causes the counter top to get splashed on when you wash your hands.  The vanity was installed horribly, the caulking was lumpy and uneven, the counter top had rough spots on it and the boxes had scratches and dents in the doors and finish.
    7) HVAC subs left all (and I do mean ALL) of their trash - personal and material - in the attic where they installed a new furnace.  They also cut old exhaust outlet piping in the roof and left them there without sealing them to protect against critters and rain.
    The list goes on but that gives you an idea.
    When we've pressed the issue about the deadline we were told that it wasn't in the actual contract that they would pay $350 to us for each day late.  When we asked for Roi Edery's personal license number he said he never claimed to be a contractor that he was just an officer of the company.  When we called the company to talk to the owner Shlomo Perez, we were told that he doesn't talk to people and the 'manager' Jeff was very rude and unwilling to provide information about anyone at the company when asked.
    Todays date is April 18, 2014 and our bathroom isn't completed - it's usable but it's not done.  They said it would take 6 weeks and it's going on over 3 months. There is no urgency to do the work.  There are so many things that were wrong that had to be fixed.  The RMO never came to the house, never called us.  I'm filing a claim against them at CSLB but wanted to share the horrible experience here on Angie's List because this is where we found All Stars Remodeling.
