    Prodigy Works
The estimate was fair for the amount of work provided. The crew was punctual, knowledgeable, and worked really efficiently. We were impressed to see that all workers were being safe, wearing personal protective equipment, and taking good care of our property as well. Once job was done, they left the yard cleaner than they found it and did not leave until we walked through the whole property and made sure they had addressed everything we talked about.

Extremely well. It's exactly what I asked for. Colorful shrubs and blooms to attract butterflies and birds, Dago suggested a crepe myrtle tree (beautiful color) and added an orange tree at my request, rock walls, new grass, two steps to a lower level, and a working sprinkler/drip system. I saw a butterfly in my yard last night!! The yard is lovely and makes me happy. Dago's team was polite and knew their stuff. They left the yard neat at the end of each day and were knowledgeable and professional....a real pleasure to work with.

Dago and his crew did their usual satisfactoy work.

Dago has done numerous jobs for us over the past few years. He has replaced a fence and built another won. Skillfully trims our large trees each year. Keeps our irrigation system operating. And in general, he's wonderful at troubleshooting any problems we have in our yard. He's the first person we turn to when we have a problem landscaping problem. His rates are fair. He's hones and great to work with. My husband and I highly reocmmend his work.

    Rapidcut Lawn and Garden Services
Jeff did such a good job the first time he worked in my yard, I hired him on an ongoing basis. He has come twice a month for the past few months now. My front and back yard always look great. Jeff is friendly, easygoing, and easy to communicate withand he does a thorough job.

    ALVAREZ BROTHERS GARDENING SVC
I had expected the monthly charge to be 50% of what I had been paying, instead it was 60% of what I was paying. From my perspective, the front and back yard maintenance is about the same.  I eventually stopped service because I was not happy with this fee arrangement.  It was very difficult to discuss billing with the person who works in the office.  Payments are made only by mail, which was extremely difficult for me as I routinely pay all my bills online. I also could not pay by check at the time of service.  It was mandatory I mailed the payment.

    Dubois Gardening
They were our former gardeners and unfortunately he had some health issues and they were very major. When he worked for us, he was great but towards the end, it got very bad, he injured his hand very badly and that would have been fine except that he was not good about communicating when he was going to be here and he wasn't able to do the work. I had trouble getting a hold of him and at that point we have to let him go and that was when I replaced him. I don't know whether he's back to working again or not, but I know there were health issue going on. I think he was a little high-priced and I did find that it was easier with him to just let him do what he needed to do and he knew what he had to do. I'm finding that I needed to supervise a little more closely but there's been a significantly about turning cost and I'm very happy with what's going on because I'm learning a little bit more about the yard and that's really better. I think we're keeping up with some things that sometimes got missed because the person wasn't living in the house, there's things you see so I'm finding that I'd like to have more better communication. Since then that the price should have been less, he was charging for more time than he was spending on the yard. The work was very good and he was pretty thorough for the most part, and there were times that I was frustrated especially when the problems started. We tried about 6 weeks to make it work and it was difficult to connect, to talk to him, he admits he's terrible on the phone, and at one point I finally said, "I needed you to do this, I need you to be reliable, we can communicate via e-mail, it doesn't have to be by phone but you have to communicate with me and I expect you here sometime next week." I never knew exactly when he was coming which was another thing that bothered me. I said, "If you don't make it back within the window that I expect, that's it," and he didn't. He apologized but then again I'm not sure that he was all there, I don't know whether he was taking meds that were making him funny or what. The thing is, it's been 6 months, he could be fine now and that's why I'm a little reluctant to be too negative because I don't know what's he's like right now but at that time it just got to the point and my yard was looking terrible. It was going downhill and I had to get somebody in here that I could count on to get it cleaned up and we've been real pleased with the new ones and how quickly they got it going and the yard is looking very good. We communicate both by phone and by e-mail and he's good about letting me know, generally I have a set day of the week and he gives me a call the day before to confirm time and it's working very well.

    DG Landscaping
I've been using him for a couple of years. He's good. The schedule for the work is always done on time. He put the fence in according to what we agreed on. I pay him $75 a month for the landscaping. I will absolutely continue to use them.

    Quality Gardening & Landscaping
Let's set the scene: My small backyard had become a disaster. It had gotten to the point where not only did I not want to spend any time out there, but just looking out the windows at the yard was making me feel anxious and depressed!  Nothing but weeds, dead lawn (yes, a failed experiment with EcoLawn - so the "lawn" was spider-filled, ankle-high and dead), too much cracked concrete and an terribly ill-conceived and rotting deck with rusty nails poking out. Not to mention that the winter months turned the whole area into an everglades-like swamp that had us desperately trying to direct water away from the foundations.
So, my laundry-list of projects was long, and I had some money saved. I contacted three companies I found on Angie's List and met with two of them. The first interview didn't go very well. After I explained what I was interested in doing, the gentleman looked at me and said "you really want to do a lot. a lot of expensive things". He said that it would take a week to get me an estimate (it took two weeks - the estimate was very reasonable,, but it took two weeks and I got the feeling that he wasn't too interested in the job). The second company I met with was QGL (Eddie). After that, the third company was irrelevant - I knew who I wanted to do the work.  Eddie Abrao clearly loves what he does; he is enthusiastic, a creative problem-solver, a hands-on and empowering boss, good at listening and detail-oriented. We talked about my wish-list and he was the first to mention the dreaded drainage issue. He was familiar with the area of Richmond I live in, and the water-table there. Luckily, I was completely on board with his insistence to address this issue as part of the big picture. He had a detailed estimate to me that same day.
As far as everything else, I had a basic idea of what I wanted, but I loved that Eddie encouraged me to be open minded; he mentioned that once the demo happened, and the space was more of a blank canvas, that we would look at it differently.  (Note about the demo-day: it all started right on schedule - it was noisy and messy and it went really fast! Jose and the crew is unbelievable -more on that later!) Since i didn't have a strangle-hold on my design plan, it was never a problem to make changes along the way. If I needed to make a decision in a timely manner to keep the project moving smoothly, Eddie would let me know. The day that the design was finalized could have been stressful, but it was actually fun. With spray-paint markings, Eddie showed me what he would do with the new blank canvas. I had changes and we tried several different things, by "erasing and re-drawing" in the dirt.  Since Eddie was always respectful of my budget and ideas, and I was open to his expertise, we were able to collaborate very successfully. I ended up with a design that was better than what I had previously envisioned, and didn't completely blow my budget (Did I go over my initial budget? not much, but yes - however, there was never any pressure to do so, and I also got so much more than I had ever expected -so I feel that the value was there).
Besides Eddie, special shout-outs go to:
~ Juan and the crew: Wow. these guys are a force to behold. Such hard workers, smart, conscientious, they all go above and beyond in every way. I got the sense that they like what they do and take pride in it.
~ Chris Reece: He built my deck and the gate across the driveway.  I had a certain type of gate design that I wanted - i emailed inspiration photos, and Chris built me a gate that was better than the photos.
I've put quite a lot of improvements into my home in the 5 years that I have owned it.  I have never had such a positive experience as with QGL. I actually felt a little bit sad when the work was complete and the guys were gone - that was a first!  I know who to hire for future work, and I look forward to it. I've invested in and increased my living space, because I want to be outside whenever I can.

    Ramon Rosas Professional Landscaping Maintenance
Perfect. Ramon Rosas and his team were punctual and professional. The work was done in a single day, as per our agreement, and included clean up of the site. They left our previously weed-tangled property looking a thousand times better.

    Samayoa Landscaping
Samayoa Landscaping was reasonably priced and did a good job. They were professional and he did everything that I asked him to do and some and his price was reasonable. I was pleased with him and I don't have any complaints at all.
