Alvaro formed and poured all of the sidewalks, curbs and architectural site concrete at the 2001 Market street project in San Francisco. He led the project with great diligence and skill and has a high level of talent when it comes to flat work and concrete.

    Kodiak Construction
Stay away from KODIAK, Lic#708098. These people are 100% unprofessional to the point of being dishonest. They made me wait for two months after signing the contract and then walked away from the job with a one liner email three days before it was supposed to start. On September 18, 2017, I signed a contract with Kodiak for the foundation of a home addition (300 ft^2) that required pile drilling. I was told that the work would start around Thanksgiving. After waiting for two months without a word from them, I got the following email from Griffin (their estimator and scheduler). On Monday, November 20, 2017 9:22 AM, Griffin Ormond wrote: Christian, Unfortunately as of Friday our foundation foreman & excavator are no longer with us. I am truly sorry but we cannot start until March 2018. Thank you. Griffin Ormond After getting this message, I tried to talk to the owners David & Michael FIGUEROA. I left a message to both, neither of them returned the call. Eventually Griffin called me and in so many words told me that my job had been put at the bottom of the pile. This means that KODIAK either realized they could not do the work or that they found a better opportunity job. In either case very unprofessional. I never heard from them again even though I left messages for Griffin. I had to restart from scratch and essentially had the job delayed by 6 months (including the rainy months at the beginning of 2018). I went with Lassiter Excavating, Inc. These people are reliable, have the equipment and the know-how. KODIAK is a light weight, fly-by-night non-professional organization. They may be OK for a sidewalk or a patio (as shown on their site), but should not be considered for any serious concrete work. They should not take those jobs and walk away from them.

Babylon Builders - Home & Landscape Contractor
A fantastic experience from start to finish, BGL transformed our vague intentions into concrete form. We needed a soil and grass lawn converted to a rock garden with undemanding but beautiful flora. An adjacent ramp and slab needed to be replaced to correct their inclines. BGL rapidly produced a striking design and then enacted it rapidly and thoroughly. In addition to the concrete work, stone walkways were placed and a drip irrigation system was installed and integrated.

They were terrific to work with. The project supervisor, Gil, was very responsive, and extremely knowledgeable. The team that worked on our house were very skilled. I am extremely happy with the result.

I have used them before for hauling. This was a small demolition project which involved tearing out a small concrete walkway and removing the debris. They were punctual, efficient and performed the job exactly as requested.

I love them. He goes by the name of Nick; he is actually Brazilian. His crew is wonderful and he is very easy to work with. He seemed to be knowledgeable; he is not an engineer but he has some knowledge there. All my neighbors walk by and say that it looks great. I have had lots of compliments and surely one of my neighbors is going to have some work done on their driveway so that is a pretty good take on the situation I guess. The price was appropriate. I cannot say how great he is; I would recommend him to others.

This was the second time we had used Creative Fencing because we were very pleased with the other work they had done about a year ago.  They did a great job this time, too.
The crew was very polite and responsive, and I have a lot of respect for and confidence in the foreman.  I had some questions about the leveling of the fence in a few places at the bottom -- the entire backyard has a slope to some degree -- because we wanted it to be as level as possible.  I was teleworking, so the foreman got me to show me what it would look like before they finalized it and showed me where the line was and where the kickboard would be placed relative to the slope.  In one area, he measured and showed me the options between different degrees of slope for the fence, and the amount of open space that would be below the kickboard if it was leveled.  He was right every time about the best way to do it, but I really appreciated that he wanted to discuss it with me and make sure it was what I wanted.
The fence looks great and they worked very efficiently in removing the old fence and putting up the very nice new fence.  Their attention to detail made it a professional job that was well worth it.  For each and every vertical post, the worker used a level to ensure that it was straight before nailing it in place.
I think the only part that might be slightly frustrating to others is scheduling.  Fortunately, business is much better for construction folks than it used to be, so it took about 6 weeks from estimate to construction.  The estimate was scheduled very quickly -- quicker than i could actually be available!  The owner told me it was going to take 4-6 weeks before they would be able to complete the job after receiving the contract, but it took a few weeks before it was even scheduled after I returned the contract.  The fact that it was a relatively small, 1-day job probably made this more difficult for them to schedule.

They did an excellent job. It's a lot but they did a great job, we didn't want amateurs and we didn't want callbacks. Actually were on a pay for money for a really good outfit and they actually did the ideas that I get. They showed up on time, all their work was professional, you have to put in the forms and you get to get the inspector out to do it. They've answered all our questions on the phone and online when we send e-mails, they were responsive. We never felt like we were out of the line and they modified some stuff for us in the middle of the project without any hassle. The on-site people were available by telephone, if I wasn't here I can call them. The job supervisor and the principals of the company were available, they're very top notch.

I had Ricardo do some work at my son's house and called him for an estimate on the concrete work at my house.  I got estimates for the work from several contractors and selected Ricardo again.  We talked about color and stamping the concrete.  I originally thought I would like the flagstone look, but changed my mind before the job started.  I called Ricardo and we discussed what might look best and decided on the brick stamping which matched some other portions of the house.
We set a date two weeks out to start the work.  Richardo expected the work to take about four days.  The week before the job was to start, Ricardo called to discuss the size of the channel drain and we decided on 6" wide to carry the water.  Ricardo and his crew showed up as agreed two weeks from the date we agreed on the proposal with the equipment to demo the driveway.  Ricardo and his crew worked all day--some of the concrete was thicker than we expected--and hauled away all the debri.  Ricardo brought stamp and color samples and we settled on red running brick.  Rain was forecast for the next day so Ricardo and his crew came back the following day.  The concrete truck appeared and the pour started.  They finished and left one person behind to smooth out the concrete, color and stamp the porch concrete, and take care of the concrete during the first day of curing.  Ricardo and crew came back for final cleanup and checking on Friday.  Everything turned out great!  Now I have concrete that slopes as it should and a great looking front porch that won't require tile or brick work ever!
Came in at the price quoted and in the timeframe promised!  Ricardo is always helpful and ready to answer any questions.  He's great at explaining what is needs to be done, what they are doing and what the next steps are.  His crew is always considerate and professional.  I'll use them again the next time I have concrete work and recommend him to everyone!

He did an excellent work last time, so I contacted him again.  He is a wonderful contractor.  He does a quality work.  He is timely.  He kept me well informed on the processes.  He cleaned up after himself during the last work.  He follows up.  He needs to provide some details about the work; but once I asked him for those details, he was forthcoming with it.
