"We were very impressed with the quality of the product, the installation, and especially the installers and the salesperson we talked with. They were extremely knowledgeable" about the products, helpful, and personable. Everything was done on time, there was little to no dust left in our basement(even after they
-hammered through our concrete floor). We would definitely use them again for any basement drainage work.

Angie's Answers

Mold in a basement is a common problem. My company helps people with this every day. Some of the answers you received were helpful but not all the information is correct. First, you need to eliminate the two main ingrediants that mold needs to survive. The first one is water intrusion. This is a must. I am assuming you have no water intrusion as you make no mention. The second componant that needs to be eliminated is moisture. Moisture is also humidity. Basements need to be kept airtight in the summer months. Some folks have posted that you need air flow in your basement. Nothing could be furthur from the truth. When you open any windows for example, not one micron of air goes out of the basement, Warm humid air is sucked into the basement. Houses suck air into the basement and it meets the cool surfaces and skyrockets humidity. The windows must be kept closed and a dehumidification device installed to ensure humidity stays below 60% humidity. The dehumidifier should be energy star rated and purchasing a seperate humidity guage is a must to monitor the unit's progress. We like to keep our customer's basements at 50% humidity. This eliminates the smell that is active mold spore growth. Once the water and humidity is brought under control. Remove the organic materials that have mold on them. Walls, sheetrock and studs that have been affected. Follow the advice of previous posts as you must ensure that you do not affect the rest of the home. Once removed, install new walls using as much inorganic material as possible. We also install vapor barrier over the walls and seal the floors to stopwater vapor transmission into the basement. Poly plastic is not a acceptable vapor barrier. It is not "zero-perm" and will still allow moisture transmission. It will also crack and break into pieces over the years. A PVC liner rated "zero-perm" is the correct product in this application. Depending how large the basement is and if it is sectioned off will determine the dehumidifier strength. We use the Santa Fe line of dehidifiers as they are super energy efficiant and work like a dehumidifier on steriods. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in Basement Health!

Where is the home located, what is the exterior wall construction and type, how is the space heated?

It could be a whole host of different scenarios that would generate that result.  It is nearly impossible to tell but I would say that most basement moisture problems are a result of bulk moisture intrusion or condensation issues.

Given the deep and hard winter this year, it could be a condensation issue that hadn't previously been shown.

Basement Waterproofing reviews in Redwood City

He examined the area of the foundation where the leak occurred. It was a really hot day. He personally dug down to locate a drain pipe that had been covered up by landscaping. He told us he was pretty sure that was the problem and not a cracked foundation wall. Had he been unethical he could have told us it was cracked and proceed to expensive repairs. He was very knowledgeable and professional, as well as pleasant and friendly.

I find water leaking from my garage and water in the crawl space. They came and explain to me why it happens and what to do.
They are very professional, clean and on time. They have 3 crews come to my house and work for 2 whole day. The service is life time warranty if you keep the water pump working properly.
- Wendy E.

We were impressed from the beginning with our consultation with
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
. He is fantastic and spent about 3 hours at our house going over every detail of the project from start to finish. He walked us through the entire basement to explain areas of concern. He also used a moisture meter to locate where the more problematic areas were located. He took the information to determine what the best system would be to assure us that our basement would be safe from water damage. He had us view a video that explained the process that would take place before we made any decisions. We had 3 other consultations with other waterproofing companies, 2 were slightly less money, but we were so impressed with
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his "
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
" approach that we chose to contract them to do the work. The system that we needed and the way he explained every detail, we felt there was no other choice but to go with them. Their system, choice of products and material used to do the job seemed superior to the other companies. We needed to finance the work and they also helped find financing if needed. The job was started on 7/27 in the morning and was finished on 7/29 by dinner time. Our basement is very large, so this was very impressive.
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
had told us it would most likely only take them 2 days and he was spot on. They were very professional, efficient and worked like a well oiled machine. When they were finished after cleaning up, we could not tell they had been there to do the work. The inside and outside was left almost better then when they arrived. They even smoothed out the dirt around our window wells that we had dug ourselves and removed what was not needed. This company is true to their word and I would recommend them to everyone I know. We have a certified dry basement that transfers with the house as long as the structure is standing. This is very important to me. I purchased this home without being told about the water issues and I would not want to pass on a house with a major issue like we had. I feel like I now have peace of mind and no longer have to worry, that my home will be dry and we can enjoy our basement. Thank You
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
for being such a great company and providing exceptional work.
- Carla Z.

Pat was very prompt, polite and knowledgeable! He gave us some recommendations on how to resolve our issues without trying to sell us anything. We really appreciated the time he took to work with us and we would both recommend him to friends and family, and use him again in the future!
- Kennedy S.

I cannot speak highly enough of this company.
They did amazing work and went above and beyond to make sure our work was done properly. They
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
-hammered out the basement and stairwell, installed the drain, and sump pump, performed mold/mildew prevention and lining in the trench then filled in with drain and poured the floor in. The floor looks great! It is flat and dried properly without any flaking or cracking.
When the battery backup started giving me problems the day after they installed it (alarm stuck on for high water) they sent a guy out EARLY in the morning so I wasn't late to work and then when we got a bunch of rain and lost power while the battery backup was out for replacement that night they offered to rent us a generator to keep the pump running until the new part came in the next morning. I thought that was far more than could have been expected from them since it was not their fault the battery backup they installed was bad. The power came back before the generator was necessary but it was just such a great thing to offer.
Just a incredible group of people who did a great job and cleaned up after the work and were super respectful of our house and property. We have seen more rain and storms this past
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
than we have all year and our basement is dry as can be all thanks to their wonderful work. We plan to use them again for crawl space work we need done.
- Alison M.

Arrived promptly. Kept us informed of what they were doing. Left area clean. Were considerate of occupants in home when they did work which involved concrete removal and replacement. Lots of noise and several days on the project. Seemed knowledgeable.
We had a couple of communication issues, but the team was swift to respond and remedy.

I was visiting Greenwich where I currently have a property on the
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
to rent. I met the realtor who told me that she had discovered water in the basement the previous week and we could see evidence of dampness remaining. Worried that there could be an issue with the foundation, I called
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do an assessment. He was able to come the next day and inspected the basement, plumbing, and foundation. He told me he believed that there was an issue with the plumbing rather than the foundation but did point out drainage problems outdoors which could lead to future issues. His advice was to address the plumbing issues and then monitor for further leakage, at which time he would be happy to do a more in-depth assessment of what needed to be done. He told me that there was no charge for the visit since he was only providing advice on this trip. The plumbing has now been fixed and so far there is no more leakage.
Redwood City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was responsive, professional and pleasant, worked with my tight schedule, was prompt and did a thorough investigation. I was very impressed with him and will call him again if we do experience problems in the future.
- Gayle H.

I ended up not needing to use their services. I was disappointed that I
paid $50 for an inspection, when he said he would have done that for
free. He did say I could use the $50 voucher if I ever needed any
waterproofing services in the future.
