    Peninsula Appliance Repair
Absolute nightmare. I have a double oven that started having problems in October. The upper oven stopped working, so Peninsula Appliance Repair was sent by my warranty company. They came out several times to attempt to repair it. Nothing worked. On the final appointment, whatever the technician did actually BROKE the other oven. I called Peninsula Appliance Repair to get the repair records so that I could pass them on to the new technician (the new repair company asked me what was done to the oven since there was nothing indicated in the records he got from the warranty company). PAR told me they don't release repair records to customers and that the records had already been given to the warranty company. I called the warranty company and they said what PAR told me is a complete lie. All I'm asking for is the repair records for MY OWN OVEN. I am fairly confident that Peninsula Appliance Repair won't release them because they broke my oven and do not want to be held liable.

    Otto's Appliance Service, Inc
Showed up in the scheduled time, was pleasant and professional. Spent the time with me to go through the symptoms. I had thought it was the pump, based on my research, but in his experience it was all attributable to the input valve. He replaced the valve efficiently, did a quick but thorough testing, including for the check valve and heating (which was working fine), and gave me some tips on care and what to expect. The dishwasher seems to be working well now, though we'll know for sure after a few uses. I was a little surprised by having both a service call charge and a labor charge, however I didn't ask in advance, and the overall price was acceptable. I would use them again.

    Cosentinos All About Home Repairs
He charged per hour. It ended up being a fairly long time at the full price rate. It was around $500. It was a lot.  He was friendly and professional. He was available. He got it to fit. The end result is, that it was in. However, it didn’t fit the first time he tried widening the space. So I think a little measure twice, cut once. He ended up having to shave 1/4 to ½ inch off the sides of the frame. When we bought the microwave, we had measured ourselves and it was a little too large for the space. He had to widen the space a little bit. Which was tricky, but it did take him a couple of tries and he ended up just jamming it in there. So, he got it working, and it looks fine. He was cash only, and at the price that it was, it was a little tricky getting cash at that size.  It did end up being a lot (price) to install a microwave. If we had known how much it would be in total, we might have not kept the microwave, we would have gotten something smaller. I don’t know if I would use him again. I might give someone else a chance.

    Sears Appliance Repair
I was without a dishwasher for over two months while they fooled around. You have to wait two weeks for them to come out for the first visit and then he has to order a part. Then it was another month before he got back here to put the part in. He didn't know how to put the dishwasher back together once he got it apart. So I had to wait another two weeks before he finally got around to contacting the manufacturer to find out how to put it back together. Sears does not have their own technicians in the area anymore. They farm it all out to other people. It was just awful. Plus, I've been paying them $500 a year to service my 3 appliances. The dishwasher was only 15 months old and still under warranty. The tech diagnosised it correctly. The part that was needed was what he ordered but then he couldn't put it back together. The people that I talked to on the phone were very nice and tried to be helpful but they couldn't fix the dishwasher. They only give you an 8 hour window. You have to stay home between 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon and 5 times he didn't show up.

    Water Heaters Only, Inc
Called at 9 pm. Very helpful representative. Fixed an appointment for next day noon- 3 pm window. Steve called 45 min before he arrived. He recommended replacement and gave me an estimate. Very pleasant and professional. Patiently explained the options and advantages of new heater. Work was done in 2 hrs. Steve went over operation, settings and safety steps. Fully satisfied with the work.

    Sears Appliance Repair
This experience was a disaster. Sears does not employ repair people. They contract this out. They cancelled our first appointment because they said that they needed to order a part for us (this was before their first visit). It was rescheduled for 8 days later. Repairman came with no part for us. He had to call for help and went off to purchase a part. He replaced the part and was planning to leave but we wanted to test the machine. Problem was not fixed. They had to order another part and would not schedule a repair appointment until we received the part. This had been going on for over 3 weeks and we couldn't use the machine. We cancelled the part and requested a refund for all but the service charge amount. It took many calls but we got a refund and bought a new machine--not from Sears! I will never use them again.

    C & A Brown Co
Excellent company. Professional, prompt, knowledgeable. It started with Susan, who answered my email query here on line, and with whom I talked on the phone. Her responses were prompt and informative, with no run-around. She told me that she would have to check on the installer's availability and got back to me the same day. On the day of the work to be done, she called me, first thing in the morning, as promised, to give me the installer's ETA. Richard, the technician, arrived on time, and set about the work to be done. He was very knowledgeable, and did a great job. He wore booties on his shoes whenever he was in the house, was very personable, and answered any questions I had.  He worked quickly and efficiently. At one point, he evaluated fixing the old dryer versus removing it and installing it with a used dryer I had in the garage, told me the cost of parts and labor for repair, which made it clear that replacing the dryer was by far the best option.  He did his work, cleaned up, hauled away all the appliances. It may sound surprising to be so happy to find a service that responds promptly, arrives when they say they will,  does what they promise, does it well, and does it efficiently, but that is unfortunately harder to find these days than it should be.
I would use this company again and would have no hesitation recommending them.

    GE Appliance Repair
Repairman was excellent. He arrived ontime, quickly identified the issue, had the replacement part in his truck, looked up our refrigerator and found that the repair would be covered under warranty. Could not ask for better service. I will definitely buy GE again.

    C & A Brown Co
Rich was on time, very friendly and polite, worked quickly and identified the problem right away, and gave us a great additional tip about keeping the drain holes clear. They were also very responsive and polite when scheduling the appointment - I called and left a message on a Wednesday morning, Susan called back a couple hours later and they were able to come out for the repair on that Friday. Would definitely recommend C & A Brown Co, and if we need any other appliances repaired, they'll be the first folks we call!
