  • He is really good. He is very competent and he takes his time. The only draw back is that, he sometimes keeps people waiting in the office. It is not too easy to get an appointment but if you have an emergency he will take you right away, otherwise you probably have to wait. If you have a problem he is there. It is a very friendly office.

  • In addition to the glasses, Dr. Weinstein coached me on how to improve my diet and not just rely on my medications to keep my cholesterol in check. He didn't want me to worsen my existing conditions and felt less red meat was a small price for staving off vision deterioration. I also got dark glasses to protect against UV impact.
My family's vision two boys, one girl, and me)( ranges from and quot;fighter pilotand quot; to waiting till his vision stopped degrading at 25 before considering Lasik. Dr. Weinstein's knowledge about eyecare is always extremely current.

  • Dr Okada is very much up to date with developments in contact lenses and vision correction. Paul makes the best glasses I have ever had. The office is very friendly and clean. I believe they are excellent and I have been using them for close to 15 years.

  • There can sometimes be a bit of a wait even if you have an appointment and the check in process and basic eye checks (glaucoma screening, etc...) is very standard. Dr. Risco really cares about her patients and takes the time to get to know everything about them. Both my wife and I have gone at least a dozen times and always have a positive experience.

  • Within 24 hours of the procedure I could see 20/20 and within a week I was at 20/15. The entire procedure was very quick and painless. What struck me was how routine the whole thing was, the 30,000+ procedures he's performed show in how polished the process went.

  • Dr. Bryan has been my ophthamologist for more years than I can remember. A Stanford student/athlete in basketball, which I find very impressive. My annual visits are for routine exams but also to assess previous damage to my right cornea due to a fungal infection in which I almost lost the vision in my right eye. This is a story worth telling. After having ignored the problem for a few days, enough time for the infection to take hold, I went to see Dr. Bryan. He immediately diagnosed it as a serious infection that needed special treatment. He did not want to waste time trying something himself. He got me an immediate (that same morning) appointment at the Doheny Eye Center through his professional associations. This even with the Doheny staff being at some major educational training and thus short staffed. Doheny is one of only a handful of eye professional organizations that can treat fungal infections with some very special (and nasty) medications. After a long, 3 month period of time and treatments, they got the infection under control. (Dr John Irvine at Doheny was spectacular). Dr. Irvine stated that I was "blessed" to end up with a minor scar out of the line of sight, and I recognize that Dr. Bryan was instrumental in saving my eyesight. He is professional and thorough and I would not use anyone else services. As soon as I went back to see him after my ordeal, he couldn't wait to see my eye. You would have thought he was looking at a family member the way his enthusiasm showed regarding the successful treatment. He's awesome!

  • The front office staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. My appointment was for 9:30 and I was checked in and ushered into an exam room at 9:40.

The technician that performed my initial vision and eye exams was knowledgeable, very thorough and listened and responded to all my concerns.

Dr. Alkana came in and performed a few more advanced exams, checked all the technician's results and talked for quite a while about my eye issues and potential for other issues cropping up due to my family's history. He was in absolutely no hurry to get me in and out of the office, I never felt rushed. He was thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and personable.

I will absolutely continue to see Dr. Alkana.

  • Dr. Bryan was not all that communicative, the administrative staff was a bit hard to deal with, and the bill I got was late and was followed immediately by an overdue notice. My experience was not terrible, but next time I would look for a more responsive doctor and office staff. (BTW, the office and equipment seem dated compared to other offices I've been in.)

  • Once my daughter went in to the doctor's office, she was tested. When it was all over, Dr. Bryan came out and explained that there was nothing to worry about, my daughter did not have any astigmatism, and that her eyes were fine. He was very kind and approachable and I appreciated him taking the time to explain my daughters eyesight to me.

  • It was standard -- looked at frames, tried them on. Ordered the glasses based on a prescription I brought with me to the store. They called me when they were ready to pick up. Tried them on and they were fine.
