Fence Company reviews in Rancho Cucamonga

    UC Fence
We had our fence installed at the end of August 2018. We went in with a group of 6 or so immediate neighbors in our HOA, and UC Fence was chosen by the group since they had decent reviews and the lowest bid. I am writing this review because we had an overall bad experience with the company for a number of reasons, which I will list in chronological order, although #3 and #4 is what prompted me to write this review now. 1. After the fence in our yard was installed, the team left a bunch of trash in our yard (picture attached). We contacted Eric Prien and the trash was removed the following day. This was resolved satisfactorily, although it is still unprofessional to leave trash that is only removed when customers complain. 2. We examined our backyard after the fence was installed, and the workers had killed two of our fruit trees. One avocado tree was removed and completely discarded. One fig tree appeared to be pulled out of the ground along with its support post (picture attached). The fig tree was clearly marked as a fruit bearing tree, and it appeared the workers tried to hide the fact that they killed it by sticking it back into the ground although it was no longer attached to its roots. Both trees were located 1.5-2 feet away from the fence line. We believe this behavior was extremely unprofessional, as the men removed and killed our trees and even worse tried to hide it so we would did notice until it started to yellow after they were done with the job. We had extensive communication with Eric about the dead trees, and this was resolved by the company purchasing a fig and avocado tree as replacement. 3. In September/October we noticed that the end caps on the posts (not sure what they are actually called) were falling off. Four out of six posts on the right side of our backyard were found to have missing end caps. My husband says they should have been fixed to the posts with vinyl glue or some sort of adhesive. Clearly this was not done because almost all of the post end caps have fallen off on one side of the fence. My husband planned to glue them on himself, but some of the caps are lost now and may have blown into the neighbors yard or the street. 4. After a windy day, a large section of fence blew down (see pictures attached). The horizontal top bar was detached from the post and at least 4 panels of fence were blown over. This left a large gap between my backyard and our neighbors, and we were not able to let our dog into our backyard during this time. My husband replaced the panels himself, but thinks that the horizontal top beam was cut too short because it slips out of the post easily. This appears to be due to poor installation of the fence. No matter how windy it is, I would not expect fence panels to just fall down like that. This is completely unacceptable to me, and is what prompted me to write this review several months later. I was willing to overlook a lot of the other issues (end caps we can glue them on ourselves; garbage at least they took it out after we complained; dead trees at least they accepted responsibility and gave us replacement trees). However the last straw is that this company installed a sub-par fence that blows down in the wind. This fence does not provide me with a sense of security. Overall, this is a very unprofessional company and we have had problems with them from the beginning. They do not respect your property and leave trash in your yard after they are done. They do not care about your landscaping or your trees and plants. I talked to my next door neighbor, and he said that they sawed off several large limbs from his avocado tree without asking him about it, and another neighbor mentioned there was just general sloppiness issues in her backyard, so this appears to be a consistent pattern of behavior with this company. They did a very poor job installing my fence. The end caps were not secured, and a large section of fence blew down in the wind. I would never recommend this company because the fence does not provide any sense of security and I have no confidence in the installation.

He has worked for my family for over 12 years. Maybe more. I lost count. I have so many good things to say about Jose and his partner Cecellio. They are both super friendly and always have a smile on their face. I havent found a job they couldnt do yet. Things they have done are worked on electrical, paint, add walls, take out and put in a new bathtub, tile on floor, pretty tile on walls, put in new ceiling lights and so much more. They do work in my animal barn doing things like fixing waterers, putting up fans, replacing the washers in the roof, mounting racks, securing feeders to the walls, putting up metal fencing and even hosing down the inside of the stall. No job is too big or too small for them. They also do work in my fathers medical office. You can trust these guys with your money, medications or jewelry laying around. They have keys to both my house and my dads office. We trust them that much! They clean up well after completing a project. They do things right the first time around. They really pay attention to detail. They actually WANT to do a good job and for you to be pleased with their work. I cant say enough good things about these two guys. They can do it all and they do it with a smile on their face!

    Stump Fence Co.
We knew there would be a delay due to other pending work before our order could be completed. After the agreed upon estimated time, I had to call the company to inquire about the status. However, when the fencing and gates were delivered and installed, we were very happy with the product and the professionalism of the installers. The steel framing very substantial and of higher quality than we expected. If you want good quality and professionalism of installation-this is the place!

    Grasmick Construction
Jordan is outstanding!  My neighbor & I needed about 20 feet of wooden fence replaced (before it fell over thanks to the Santa Ana winds & just being old).  Jordan came out and gave a free estimate, explained what the work would entail and also showed me pictures of other fences he'd installed.  The estimate to complete the work was 2 days and he completed the work in half the time.  I am making a list now of other projects that I plan on hiring Grasmick Construction to do for me.

    Guzman Contractors
We wanted to get the work done but they never contacted us to set an appointment. They were very fast on the quote but didn't schedule anything for us. My wife dealt with them. They gave us a good price and got the quote fast, but it was disappointing afterwards.

    Creative Fences & Decks Inc

I requested to have an estimator out as soon as feasible, because I live in an HOA and they wanted to have my application for fencing by the end of the week.  The person with whom I spoke over the phone was able to make an appointment in the same week for 10:00AM.  10:00AM came as I was organizing my pictures of various fencing styles to share with the estimator.  He called at 10:00 to verify my address, which I confirmed, and then he informed me that he will be "a little late", 20 minutes.  When I told him that was very late, he immediately became defensive by saying that's the result of squeezing me into his schedule.  Now, I can understand making room for a new client, but I cannot tolerate the arrogance that I should accept tardiness because someone "squeezed" me into his schedule.  If the he did not have enough time in his schedule, then it needs to be said upfront.  My time is just as valuable to his and I would prefer to schedule another company which did have enough leeway to show up on time.  He then left a message, which I got 15 minutes after the rude conversation.  He said that I should re-schedule an appointment for another time, since it was obviously inconvenient for us both.  That message was left AFTER I was expecting him to come late, not expecting him to have a NOW SHOW!

For his arrogance and ego, he has lost not only my business, but also the businesses from the homeowners in my neighborhood association.

    Katchakid Inc.
Deena, the sales rep, met with me several times before we decided to go with Katchakid. She was always punctual, patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The guys who installed the net were very professional and gave us as much time as we needed to understand how to remove and replace the net. We are delighted with the quality of our net and love how it looks. It allowed us to take down our pool fence and reclaim our backyard. I highly recommend this company.

This project was a major commitment for my wife and I. We spent considerable time selecting the contractor for the project. We interviewed approximately eight contractors and visited numerous construction sites. Henry's references checked out with very positive reviews and we liked what we saw of his work. He was the only contractor that we interviewed who identified the existing problems of our backyard landscape and came up with a plan that met all of our needs. Henry and his brother Mike steered us away from ideas that would not have been worth the expenditure and as the project developed they came up with recommended changes to the design that added beauty and function. The workers were professional and neat and once work was begun kept to a regular schedule. The project took approximately sixty days from start to finish. Communication with Henry was very good. We were always able to reach him and he visited the project nearly every day. We were very pleased to have Mike as our hardscape foreman and we found him both knowledgable and creative. For personal reasons, we are not comfortable giving the total cost of the project. I will say that we paid for high quality work and we feel that this is exactly what we received. Henry and Mike fulfilled the vision that we had for our yard and we are very satisfied with the results.

    Charlie Mann The Handymann
After nine days of trying to track Charlie down, his assistant answered my call, I asked for the quote I had been waiting for for some time now, and was told that Charlie was not interested in doing the job.

    Sonrise Fence Co
Emailed Sonrise Company for estimate to remove old wooden fence and install imitation stone vinyl fence. 100 ft with gate on a slope. Got quick phone call reply. During the call Jason suggested going be another job they were doing with imitation stone.  I went to that job site and without introduction the workers were friendly and personable.
Jason made appointment at my convenience and came out on time.  Offered alternative to imitation stone due to high traffic area near school.  Suggested imitation redwood which looked good, showed different samples.   Clean cut, well mannered, very was knowledgeable about product and installation issues.
Emailed quote in a timely manner and follow up with a phone call.  Price for redwood vinyl was very reasonable $4,500  (about the same for cost of regular wood fence)  but we wanted the stone look to match area and so we did not go with Sonrise.  Going to wait till we can afford block wall.
Good company with knowledgeable friendly people who I would feel comfortable doing the work and being around my home.
