    Sean not only did the work I had for him (5 jobs, installing fixtures, outlets, etc.) but he saved me money by pointing out things that didn't need to be fixed or could be fixed without using the items I had bought at Home Depot in advance.  Therefor, I could return about $125 worth of goods.  One small problem.  He installed a fluorescent light fixture in the closet that I had bought at Home Depot (48 inches), but when we tried to put a tube that I bought from the same place, he said it was too short.  I made a separate trip back, used an employee to help, and we still could not find a T5 tube anywhere longer than 46 inches.  Now I have the fixture installed, but nothing to go in it.

    The technician, Mr. Mungo McGee, showed up exactly at 9am (I had been given a 9-11 am window). Apparently they don't know exactly what they are going to find when they show up and the company estimated it might take as long as 4 hours. Our home is more than 40 years old and has had 4-5 different owners. When Mr. McGee got everything hooked up, he was getting weak and inconsistent signals coming in from the street. He determined that our lot is too far from the end on the fiber-optics cable (about 4,000 feet). But he was determined to get us up and running. After an emphatic call to his office another man cam in a truck with a giant basket arm on it. The two of them examined the wires from our house and the connection down by the bank and determined that we would need a 'bonded pair' of wires (basically a double wire). In mid afternoon Mr. McGee had to make other arrangements to have his kids in Mira Mesa picked up at school. He also had to call his instructor for the evening class he takes to say he would be late. A little after 6 pm he had everything working and it has worked flawlessly for the 12 days since installation. Regarding cost, all I can compare it to is the cost of the package we had before. We now have more channels, almost 5-times faster WIFi, and the same excellent phone service. The package will be about $50/month less than we were paying before. I was charged nothing for the installation, at least 11 man-hours. I graded 'professionalism' a B because AT&T, the company, should have known from my address that I was too far to work without a bonded pair. Mr. McGee's professionalism was an A+.

    The guy they sent out was pretty darn cool. I had a very particular way I wanted it done. I have a very particular why that I wanted it done. I basically said I want you to do it this way! They said “okay!” It was done that way. They followed the instructions that I gave and they were really accommodating of my needs and wants of a person with a mildly OCD. They had to send 2 other technicians out to fix a wiring error on their side like in those ugly green boxes. There was some sort of bug in the wiring, it took them a long time to figure out, but they got it figured out. I guess somebody crossed a wire of something in one of the other boxes. They needed two pairs to work for the service that we bought and only one of them worked, so they had to go figure out why the other circuit didn’t work. They figured that out. Once they figured that out the whole install was done and 20 minutes later we were back online with the internet. TV’s worked and all of that kind of crap. Overall it was a good experience, it’s definitely better. This current round with upgrading the fiber and Direct TV and all of that stuff was actually really positive, because it was a relatively seamless affair. I haven’t tested everything that we bought. We bought television, phone and internet. I’ve tested the tv, I’ve tested the internet. I haven’t tested the phone line yet just because I didn’t have a wire on hand long enough to get from where I wanted it the most to where the fax machine is. So far everything has worked, they quoted a number for us, that kind of stuff was done. I would say it is definitely a strong review, a strong positive feeling for them, Direct TV. They did the entire install on Monday, I think the block was from 9:00am to 11:00am. They arrived at 9:30 and they were done by 3:30. Full system, fully operational by 3:30. I did a lot of prep work. I explained to the installer, his name was Ray or Roy. He used to be one of the guys when they trenched on the roads to put fiber in the ground. He wasn’t what I was expecting, he was extremely skilled. I was expecting some fairly trained adult who I had to teach how to crimp wires, level of by because that is what the old company usually would send. Responsiveness on the sales side was good, responsiveness on the install and the operations have been good so far. All those guys have been pretty professional. I have no complaint. Quality of the work was good, so far no issues. Their pricing is a lot better than the old company. We put a two-year agreement down. I would say it is definitely a strong review, a strong positive feeling for them, Direct TV. They did the entire install on Monday, I think the block was from 9:00am to 11:00am. We will see in 2 years how they want to jack that up. I know there is a game to this that has to be played and every couple of years you have to switch carriers if you want to keep good pricing. The internet is the same speed as it was before, I’m happy. I‘ve been happy with them so far. I mean eventually they will do something to pi** me off, but they haven’t. We the current snap shot of time, I am currently happy with AT&T Direct TV’s latest offering, but we’re still in the honeymoon phase. My disclaimer there is that we have not exited the honeymoon phase into the, we’ve now completed the first 3 months of billing. Our promotional period on our HBO package is up and we want to cancel it and that will probably be the real test of the service. Until we get to that point we should not be speculating.

    They install went great.  They showed up right now time and immediately got to work.  The speakers were quickly installed and cables run through the walls or ceiling.  They did the whole install, made sure everything worked properly and gave a complete instruction on the entire system.  And, they did it all in less than a day.  If I had done this myself, it would have taken me weeks!!

    Overall it went very well. The cabinet was a replica of an old Chang dynasty piece and he had to be very careful to get the work accomplished in a fairly small cabinet. I'd definitely recommend him and So. Cal. Home Theater.

    The team was responsive from the first email. They got right back to me, came out take a look within a couple of days - worked around my schedule to set up the install and then showed up on time. Left the place clean and worked out great.

    Their initial installation was great and they are very good. It's typical television, but you have multiple channels. You can get them on cable, but the problem we have here is that cable is not available. We have to use a dish and that's a great service for people that don't have cable, plus they have a lot more programming in the sports arena than cable does and I'm an avid sports fan. Their prices could be less.

    The process with DirecTV was excellent. Sign-up, scheduling, and installation all went as agreed. The installer was on-time and did a very good job with the installation and setup. The DVR is vastly better than what I had previously with Time Warner. The picture quality also seems to be improved. DirecTV has contacted me multiple times to check that all is working well. Overall, I am very satisfied and happy with the decision to switch. Oh, and it's cheaper by about 25%.
