    Had my wisdom teeth removed there and the doc was EXCELLENT given my anxiety levels of the procedure. They communicate and explain each step, make sure you're comfortable (you can watch tv/listen to music, they have blankets and massage chairs), billing works with your finances and insurance to ensure ease of payment, and schedulers work with your work and life schedule to fit you in at the best time. After my wisdom tooth removal at the follow-up, they noticed a space between my crown and the location of the wisdom tooth site, and told me they'd re-fit my crown, rather than just letting it go and getting an infection in that gap later on. They take pride in their work, are super friendly, and go as far as to give you a tour of the place on your first visit so you're comfortable with your surroundings. They are prompt and responsive with follow-up calls as well.

    I needed a root canal and crown. This takes 4 steps. Each step was about an hour. Dr. Lee explained was was going to happen and its progression as the work was performed. I always felt I was in professional hands. I never had any wait time in the office. The office made suggestions for insurance selection, and worked to obtain the best coverage, and gave a discount for cash co-payments.

    Robert J. Marcus, DMD, Inc.
    Dr Marcus used to be my favorite health care provider since 1998 until last year 2014 when he terminated me as his patient. He is smart, capable, high-tech, fast, good communicator, painless, decisive and funny. He's CEREC trainer and able to do even root canals. He taught me oral hygeine like flossing and using a quality electric toothbrush. In his practice he is a perfectionist. I recommended him to everyone. So why the 2 star rating?

    -1 star: He unexpectedly terminated me as a patient in 2015, without consulting me or giving me a choice. I received a letter styled by attorney to protect himself legally. Does he care more about protecting himself legally than me as a patient?

    I don't know why he dumped me, but I speculate over the years he had  disagreed regarding me taking responsibility for a few of my own treatment and condition. I cured gum disease twice with WaterPik + Periogen (5 mm pockets down to 3mm), and refused further expensive deep cleaning + antibiotics since it returned after 2 years. He told me that any treatment I did to myself like periogen was invalid, since only double-blind controlled treatments approved by ADA are valid. He seems hostile to patients empowerment, i.e. he never involved me in making treatment plans, but presented his plans decisively and ultimately mandated that I follow them completely or apparently hit the road.

    -1 star: Refusal to work out an agreement. I tried for about a year to communicate to resolve his concern but he ignored my first letter completely. After I made an exam appointment online an assistant called to refuse the appointment. To avoid making this negative review, I sent a second letter that he responded to but reconfirmed the refusal, and became hostile, accusing me of slander and legal action. This was months ago before this review. It seemed to me like passive-agressive anger, as he knew I wanted to talk to him but he refused. Unilaterally dumping a patient is legal but seems unethical for any care provider. Even as a landlord I try to resolve an issue with clients before terminating their tenancy, as moving makes their life more difficult and I don't want to anger customers. I probably would have conformed to any demands from Dr Marcus as as I did not want to change dentists.

    -1 star: Unfriendly Office: Dr Marcus had fired many of his hygenists and a partner dentist over the years, and I was okay with that since he was looking out for his patients first, but now to fire his patient? In 15 years I paid my bills immediately after the treatment, but because a few customers had not, he requires that patients prepay before any service is rendered. This made me feel like I was untrusted, which I accepted since it keeps the price down, but there was no effort to treat long term customers better that the stiffs. It seemed like the recent staff was under a lot of pressure and walking on eggshells coping with their boss. The environment in that office became unfriendly from Dr Marcus's imperitive thinking.

    Conclusion: I still recommend Dr Marcus for those who don't want to take charge of their own hygiene and responsibility for own treatment, and prefer to follow a dentist's plan completely without question, as he is competent, and completely honest (as long as you completely trust the ADA). I do not as ADA approved toxic mercury "silver" fillings and continue to promote forced drugging of all Americans with the toxic waste fluoride through public water supply.

    I found a Rancho Bernardo 5 star dentist who is more flexible for my exams, fillings and cleanings, and a 5 star American-trained dentist who setup a stellar office in Tijuana for expensive crowns. At least in Tijuana they want your business and guarantee their work.

    Dr. Garofolo used an imagining device to map the old crown and mill a new one. Watched the milling machine cut the exact replacement. No molding material in my mouth, no temporary, no return visit. Left the office with my permanent crown is less than 2 hours. Best I've ever experienced.

    I had an older crown replaced. Dr. Garafolo and the staff machine milled a new smaller porcelain crown while I waited at the office. The procedure was pretty painless and the finished crown fit nicely with matching color.  This was faster and easier than the two visits needed for the previous crown.

    It went great! Let's face it, no one loves sitting in the dentist chair but Dr. Tim and his staff made it as comfortable and stress-fee as possible. I'm excited to have two new crowns in time for lunch and will come back later to complete my treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. Tim Garofolo and the care he provides.

    We are happy with them. We've been with them for over 5 years. They are excellent. Everyone there is very pleasant and I love my dental hygienist. She is great. I tell her to really clean my teeth and she does. I tell her to go deeper and she does. The office is clean. The staff is happy and friendly. I will most definitely continue to use them.

    She's fantastic. Everyone in the family uses her and she's fantastic. She's one of the very very best dentist. She's very thorough and she's very complete about her evaluations and her charges are fair. She goes way beyond what she really needs to do to help people. She is wonderful. I switched dentist because the dentist I had would start doing work without him telling you you need to have this done. She is really thorough. She lets you know all the outcomes and I really appreciate that. She gives her personal phone number so if you have a problem, you can call her at any time and she will help you. We've been with her probably 15 years and we will continue to stay with her. She's really nice. She takes the time if you're scared or something. I have a 91-year-old who hates the dentist but she will allow Dr. Rappaport to work with her and she's just so patient and so caring and slow, because you don't want to rush someone at that state of their life.

    He is amazing! He is very personable and the office staff is very nice as well! I found this dentist for my husband about 3 years ago and he really, really liked him. We always refer people to our dentist because he is really down to earth. He does tend to book up pretty quickly because a lot of people like him. And they give us recommendations on how to maximize our insurance benefits.
