    Fair Trade Construction
Ryan did an exceptional job renovation our home. He was absolutely professional in every respect. He has great attention to detail and made sure we were completely satisfied with every aspect of our project. When faced with challenges, Ryan came up with creative solutions so everything looked professional and polished; for example, the flooring we chose is quite rustic and there are no trim pieces to wrap up the threshold of the doors. Ryan trimmed the top layer off some extra floorboards and cut the pieces to wrap up the side of the threshold rather than take the easy rout of putting down 1/4 round, that would not have been consistent with the look of the house. this was a labor intensive solution but really was the right decision. This is just one example of a small detail I would have never thought of, but his experience and dedication to doing the job the right way are greatly appreciated. After all, the difference is always in the details.

    TR Construction
Tony is a very personable and professional guy. His crew worked on my home for 4 days - they were here every morning at 7 a.m. and worked very hard until 4-5 every afternoon. They were all very respectful and they were very detailed oriented. They went above and beyond to ensure that the work was done properly. They also cleaned up all of their mess and left everything in perfect order!  I also noticed that Tony stopped by a few times during the process to communicate with the crew and ensure that they were on task. When everything was complete, Tony scheduled a time with us and came out to speak with us to make sure we were happy with the job. They are terrific! I have several home projects that need to be done/remodeled and I will not hesitate to call Tony and his crew back out here!

    Best-Rate Repair & Termite Company
We have needed to replaced some damaged fascia on our house for some time. We found BEST-RATE ON Angie's List and decided to go with them based upon their ratings. We have had bad experiences with contractors in the past so are always a bit wary no matter what others may say. But in this case, the company definitely deserves an "A" rating. Even with a good company, crews can be subpar. However, Sergio and Lupe were excellent! Their work was very well done. They really cared about how they were doing the work. Sergio was very happy to show us what was being done and why they were doing it. There was a little misunderstanding about how one section was to be fixed, but Sergio was very professional about addressing the issue and Don Scouten, our estimator, worked with us to resolve the situation in a very amicable fashion. I appreciated both Don's and Sergio's willingness to help. Overall, Sergio and Don went out of their way to always do the right thing when completing the job. I would definitely use them again!

    Scott Jennings Construction, Inc.
From day one Scott was very professional and friendly. He provided a written contract describing the work that he would be completeing giving great attention to what it was that I wanted done and the time frame and cost all up front. His price was very reasonable and better then any other contractors offer. His employee Denny was very friendly, polite and professional and very hard working. The work that they completed consisted of installing a new tankless water heater and taking out the old one, even hauling it away for me. Framed in a new smaller window, replaced several studs that were damaged, put all new installation in the walls and ceiling along with new cannon lights and bathroom fan. Installed a three piece shower enclosure with a roof cap that required more framing on the top. (By the way this was no easy job installing the three piece shower kit I was greatly impressed that they were even able to get it into the bathroom.) Installed a new toilet, mirrored medicine cabinet along with a sink and corner vanity. Laid tile in the bathroom, hallway and closet. Scott went above and beyond with completing work that was outside of the scope of the written contract which included installing a new electric fuse panel, a custom built door for the furnace cabinet and finished the ceiling and drywall in the hallway along with all the floor molding. Just a beautiful job and the best contractor that I have ever worked with and believe me I have worked with many contractors. I would recomend Scott Jennings Construction Company to anyone and everyone looking for any work that needs to be done. I definitly will be using Scott Jennings Construction for all of my future remodeling projects knowing that I will be receiving top quality work and no hassles and a great price. Thank you Scott and Denny for all of your hard work best ever. :))

    Best-Rate Repair & Termite Company
Prompt, thorough, fair.  This company has provided excellent service TWICE with excellent results.  On time, ready to explain anything at any time.  Their time estimate was accurate and they were willing to work with our situation.  We had them first repair damage over our front doorway several months ago.  Really did a thorough job.  Siding and framing had to be replaced as well as roofing material.  the finished job was perfect.
The second job was a little smaller but in two separate areas we had wood rot to repair under eaves but required roof sheathing to be replaced as well as some frame and 2 by 6 damage.  Did a great job with repair and paint on both jobs

    Professional Roofing and Solar
    It was EXCELLENT!
The demolition crew arrived at 7:00 am as promised on Day 1. There were at least 10 guys taking off the roof, the boards, etc. They worked quickly and were done with all removal by Day 2. Each day they cleaned up after themselves, swept for nails and metal debris, swept all around the house and were especially mindful of my elderly dog who likes her spot under the patio. On Day 2 which was a Saturday, and Day 3 (Monday) they arrived at 8:00 am to replace the boards. There were several guys painting the boards on the ground while others worked on the roof. The guys painting laid large pieces of tarp down underneath where they painted so there was no mess when they finished. For the paint, I just had to give one of the guys my paint choice and he went to a Dunn Edwards to buy the right shade and right paint. There was a small problem in that some of the screws went through in a few places inside and were visible since there is not crawl space. As soon as I showed the head guy, he told the others then had someone come out to fix the inside and paint it by the end of the job. By Day 5, there were just two guys meticulously putting the tiles on appropriately and taking their time to make sure it all lined up. They finished by 5:00 pm that day. The roof looks amazing! And it was done just in time before a big storm hit two weeks later. For payment, I only put down a $1000 deposit and was supposed to pay John, the owner, when the materials were delivered. He came by when I happen to be out running an errand and had to leave. His office called on Day 3 to say he would just take the payment at the end. We also discussed the payment and how much more over the estimate it would cost - which I had expected because of the number of boards that had to be replaced. She was polite and also explained some areas where they were able to cut costs a bit to try and save some money. No problem. John came by on Thursday evening at 4:00 pm, we had a nice conversation, he went through all that was done, the warranty and assured me if there was any problem to give him a call. It was great to work with the owner who obviously took pride in his business!

    WOOLSEY CONSTRUCTION
    Hiring a Contractor

Luke Woolsey came to me from a friend, who has had a lot of
work done on her home. I knew if she liked him, he would be more than
    satisfactory for me.

When you have an old house like I do, the original intended
project quickly morphs into something else entirely. Many homeowners become
suspicious of contractors when they simply tell you the truth.   Is that the fault of the contractor your
house is falling apart? Absolutely not.

I knew my overall goal for the project was to restore
structural integrity to the house. I discussed this with Luke frequently, so he
knew what my priority was. This is critical to a productive relationship with
    your contractor.

Knowing my husband wanted to keep expenditures to a minimum,
I would hand Luke my camera and have him photograph all the deficient areas that
he found. I highly recommend all homeowners do that. You want a record of
before and after. I would show my husband the pictures, we?d approve the cost
via Change order and cross that issue off the list.

We started out with a list of things that needed
replacement: windows, a deck rail, some roof leaks etc.  For a home built in 1978, we soon found we
had extensive dry rot. Our roof had been built before the current code and all
our flashing were out of code and hence the leaks.

With the roof, I had Luke remove the tiles from eave to the
top pitch of the roof. Take some pictures. Sure enough, you could see all the
felt was rotted, no washers around the nails, failed flashings. Can?t argue
with pictures.  So we did the roof via RC
    Roofing, a Luke Woolsey subcontractor.
Luke replaced all the dry rot wooden eaves.

Onto the deck, it was out of code, the surface rotted,
railing rotted, iron work pitted and starting to rust.  Again, drag out the camera. The entire deck
got rebuilt, the railing replaced with a composite material that termites don?t
find appetizing. Luke recommended resurfacing the iron work, which turned out
beautiful. I don?t know where he finds his subs, but they are all quality
    workmen.

Window replacement was also on the list. The glass company, Glenview Glass and Screen
was quick, neat and did exceptional work.
I wanted them to reinstall a shower enclosure but they came up with a
cost effective substitute which looks way better than what I had planned.

Air conditioning duct work was also an item. His duct work
    sub, Kunkle Heating and Air,
was simply super. Fast, neat and definitely knows his stuff. They installed a
couple extra ducts in the upper story that more evenly distribute the cool air,
which is really important in Poway during the hot weather.

I was extremely happy with all of the work that Luke did.
The work was first rate and he uses quality materials.  He did some minor items for me with no charge
    which was really nice.

My neighbors have commented on the roof, the deck and my new
windows. My only hang-up about writing this review is I don?t want Luke to get
    too busy.

I plan on downsizing in the future. I know I will rip up the
kitchen of any house I buy. I want Luke to do it. I don?t want him to be too
    busy.

    Cascade Valley Construction
From start to finish Thomas Yoney and Cascade Valley Construction have been the most professional, efficient, cost-effective, high-quality crew I could have hoped for.    Our kitchen remodel and hardwood floor demolition and installation took about a month overall, and I could not have been more delighted with the service and quality Cascade Valley provided.
Thomas and his guys worked with us to understand not just what we wanted done, but our overall vision.   He then then worked with us on options that exceeded our expectations while meeting our budget.
We had a number of unexpected additions and changes to our plan along the way (who doesn't).   Thomas always ensured that our satisfaction was job one, even as this meant some delays and changes or rework.
His crew is professional.   I cannot overstate how great his team was, from his own employees to his subcontractors.   They were courteous, on-time, nice to our dog and left the workspace in a cleaner condition than when they found it.
Thomas has high standards of quality.   There were several times when he pointed out defects we ourselves had not caught, and he made sure those were corrected.
Thomas also went to bat for us as we were having problems with another contractor.   This is his own standards of professionalism carrying over to every aspect of the job.
The bid from Cascade Valley was extremely competitive, but given the overall level of service we received, this I feel (frankly) was a low bid.   The quality/cost ratio from this team is just superlative.
Lastly, and I feel this is really something special.   Thomas has a real sense of community that he carries over into his work.   I have hired Thomas for several smaller jobs and he is always using his contacts and community network to help his clients.   We were going to donate or throw out our old cabinets on this job, and it just so happened that another of his clients (at the same time) had a sewer line break in her house.   This other client hadn't budgeted for replacement cabinets to replace the soiled ones.   Thomas was able to leverage the material demo'd from our house to help this other person.  I know that on previous jobs, Thomas has done the same for me.  I find that willingness to look out for each other so admirable and often lacking these days.
