  • It went terribly, total waste of time. She doesn't listen, she doesn't even say hello at the beginning, she asks poor questions and doesn't pay attention to my answers. She gave up on me. She quit on me, as if my pain condition in my knees were so far over her head that nobody in the world could ever solve it, much less her. I don't recommend this quitter.

  • I saw Dr. Ward at Garey Orthopedic in Pomona. I had been in the exam room only a short time waiting for her (that wasn't a problem), and then she enters the room. I stood up when she entered and without even a glance my direction, she told me to sit down (like she is actively refusing my courtesy). She didn't greet me, just went straight ahead to a computer, sat down at it without a word, began typing and did so for about 30 seconds before I spoke up and tried to introduce myself. She didn't care, just kept doing the computer. That is insanely rude, but it got worse. Over the next 20 minutes, I realized that this doctor does not deserve respect. She's a terrible listener, asks lousy questions, and gives lousy answers. In those 20 minutes, she probably looked at me perhaps thirty seconds total; the rest of the time she was glued to the computer and typing away, not even telling me what she was typing. She is so rude with this body language and the things she says and fails to say. She talked about my diet and exercise but when you hear this from a woman who is about 5'3" and 250 lbs., you wonder how she has the right to speak about healthy eating. She asked if I had ever had Physical Therapy for my knees. I told her yes and that in the ten or fifteen sessions I had, I was not able to complete them due to pain in my knees, that I would struggle just to get out to my car to go home. Then she proceeds to refer me for more PT [she was not listening? or she wanted to be "in-my-face" about the PT]. Even though she tested my knees by pushing with her hands and telling me to push back (every direction), she didn't comment as to how much strength my knees have (quite a bit), then told me I needed the PT to strengthen my (already strong) knees. I think she did NOT believe that I have a knee problem also because she never once asked me what my primary complaint was regarding my knees (severe occasional pain upon weight bearing), though to her (minimal) credit, she did identify tight muscles that could be an issue. [Any massage therapist could tell you that]. She feels that my back is a large contributor to my knee problems and in fact, the PT she authorized was mostly for my back, secondarily for the knees. Other doctors have told me the opposite, that there is no relationship between my tight back (and spasms) and the problems with my knees. She was very disinterested when I told her I had severe "bone-on-bone" knee pain about 50 times in twenty years including twice in the month prior and that when it happens I can no longer walk for three days. She grudgingly got up from her chair and came over and touched my knee but didn't ask me how it feels when it hurts severely or what I think is causing the severe pain, is there any pattern to how they occur?, or what the aftermath of these pain events are. She only cared how the knee felt at the time of the exam, not what it feels like when it is what has (what I call) "crash & burned." It seems she had already made up her mind before the exam that she would NOT be able to help me based on the MRI and the X-Ray. Her knowledge only goes so far, and if your condition surpasses this limited knowledge, you are out of luck; she's not going to do any research to help you, she won't ask other doctors, no attempt will be made to solve your issue. Everything was governed by her predisposition to NOT help me. In fact, her crowning statement was, "I don't think I can help you with your knees." She doesn't even want to inject anything, such as Synvisc. She would prefer to let me have more devastating pain episodes, than to try something to help me. In the end, she tried to exit the room without shaking my hand, but I wouldn't allow it... I reached out my hand to see if she would shake it, and of course, she did because of the way I stuck it in the way of her exit route. To get this woman to treat you like a human being is not worth the effort, much less to treat you like a patient who is worthy of her supposed medical prowess. Don't bother to go to Dr. Michelle Ward. You will be wasting your time.

  • Very well, from diagnosis to surgery to rehab.

  • Dr. Ward was extremely thorough. She told me what was going on or what was going to happen. She was very pleasant and easy to deal with.

  • He is not overzealous in surgery but rather conservative. I was more than happy with the outcome.
