ASOD Home GroupMy wife and I hired Oren at SOD Home Group for our new home build in mountain view, CA. My wife is very detail oriented and is very organized. She and Oren hit it off from the very beginning because of this. On our first meeting, Oren insisted that our builder be present and he took the time to ask about his supply sources and asked many questions about the build time line, looked at our house plans, and offered a new perspective on some planning issues we hadn’t thought of. He literally went room by room asking questions about my likes and dislikes, my wife’s likes and dislikes, and our three children (two boys 16 and 8 and my daughter who is 5). We have loved how Oren compiled the list of all options for let’s say paint, tile, carpet, hardwood floors for each and every room etc and then puts the finalized list together and communicates that to the builder with a itemized list so that there is no confusion. The remodeling went smooth and without any issue. Al workers wear mask all day while they worked inside the house and made sure to sanitize all the spaces. Need I say more? Great!! ASOD Home GroupWe were so fortunate to find SOD home group to redesign our house. It has been a while since we did any remodeling or updates. Oren was attentive to each and every detail during the work. The type of materials, the paint of the walls, the combination of the cabinets and more and more… were picked up one by one to deliver us a ‘look like new‘ home. The whole coordination of who will work and when, what will they do daily, weekly and monthly – was managed by Oren. The office staff always made sure that the schedule and perfection are the top priority and they kept informing us regarding each and every step of the work. We cannot thank all the people who did the work and manage to complete it on time even though we are in a middle of a pandemic. My wife and I love our new home and that is thanks to SOD Home Group.- John B.

ASOD Home GroupWe are thrilled with our decision to hire SOD Home Group to remodel our entire home. We worked with Oren and Jhon on the design and details of our remodeling project (New Kitchen, two Bathrooms, Floor entry and more). The 3D design was so good that we could see how our home will look like after the design. They went step by step with us and explained in details what we are getting, how and how much. After 4 months of remodeling (with delays because of COVID-19) we had our entire home remodeled and we are so happy about the process and the result outstanding quality and clean job.. ASOD Home GroupI've been through my share of remodels and almost all of the experiences took more time, more money...you know the story. And then our house had water damage which was uninhabitable. Despite solid insurance, the moment the tests came back positive for mold and sewage, we knew this was going to be a complete move out, demo and remodel. I had 3 other bids come back and I chose Oren with SOD Home Group. Oren was a very open communication, direct eye contact, honest opinions, quick problem solving, and most of all, they took care of us when COVID hit and the building shut down to all contractors. Even though we had weeks left on our schedule to get the job done, Oren and his team were able to made it happen (the entire remodeling) without any changes to the original plans. Oren's communication was impeccable with immediate responses to every question and request. Most importantly, the craftsmanship is no less then perfection! Thank you, Oren!!!- Gerald B.

Terry the scheduler/coordinator is easy to work with and worked closely with me to understand and advise on some difficult projects. FDid not hire due to conflicting information on Humberto's availability. He did not call back when he said he would. When I called him to get the work schedule finalized, he said "next week". Sunday evening, he texted to say Monday at 8:30 am which I didn't have available so I suggested aft er 12 noon. He said he couldn't do it then so I suggested Tuesday or any other day that week. He then texted to say I needed to find someone else. He wasted an entire week of my time and I needed the work done by the end of that week. I'm now having a hard time finding anyone due to a tight schedule. Very unprofessional and disappointing

FOn August 3rd., we hired Vinicon Construction to remodel our bathroom. This company was suggested to me by Angie's List, where they have positive reviews. The demolition went well, but problems started to arise when they started to plumb and tile. We experienced a litany of mistakes. The plumbing flooded our bathroom and basement multiple times; the wall tile was installed incorrectly, causing the wall to bow; a new subfloor was installed incorrectly--it was discovered that it was only nailed down, not screwed; within a week or two the grout on the floor tiles grumbled and one tile cracked due to movement of the subfloor; the toilet was "nailed" to the subfloor without using a flange; the new drywall undulated; the floorboards weren't nailed to the wall but were held in place by a bead of caulk; primer wasn't used on the walls, so the paint peeled; and bubbled; the bathtub overflow pipe was incorrectly installed which caused another leak in the basement; in short, all the work performed by Vinicon construction had to be redone or repaired by another contractor. I have attached pictures that document all the failures mentioned above. Before we signed a contract, I clarified the health and safety precautions Vinicon Construction had in place with regards to Covid-19. I was assured that masks were to be worn at all times while workers were on my property. From day one, the County's Public Health Officer's Masking Orders weren't being observed. We contacted Vincent Joseph (the co-owner) on multiple occasions but to no avail. This flagrant disregard of masking orders put my family (and the company's workers) at risk. Honestly, there are more errors and oversights that I'd be happy to report, but I think I have sufficiently demonstrated the poor workmanship this company performed. We had a documented agreement with Vinicon Construction for the company to refund us $1881 and to repair the bathroom overflow. To date, Vinicon has not honored this agreement. Since our agreement, we had the entire bathroom floor replaced due to the faulty installation. I called Vinicon construction and spoke to Vincent Joseph and he said he would call me back in a "few minutes," that was three weeks ago. I’m appalled and saddened to know that Angie’s List still gives this company a high rating.
